Is extreme couponing even a thing anymore? In my state you couldn't have done it even when it was a big thing a few years ago. When I use one coupon I feel like a super hero.
My sister carries a little lunch bag filled w/coupons. When you shop w/her at any store she will always have a coupon for you. It's not extreme, but she is very handy when you're looking for a discount.
What about you?

I never got into couponing but loved to watch those extreme shows. Now I just go with grocery store rewards for gas or savings.

The only coupons I use are the ones that HEB has hanging by the included items. They are HEB coupons and are usually pretty good. HEB clearly is the best grocery store in Texas. 😊

Almost never. I used to use them quite often when I had just one kid, who would happily sit in the car or a cart as we went from store to store in a loop to get all of the best deals. And we saved a lot of money on things we actually wanted. I was really big on couponing at target back in the day when you could use a target coupon, plus a manufacturer coupon, plus a sale, plus your 5% off. But 3 things happened, I think a lot of stores changed their policies due to the "extreme couponing". I never emptied any shelves, but I saw people at flea markets locally selling stuff I knew were part of those CVS deals, and they'd have a mountain of them. And as time went by, even before policies changed, I ran into empty shelves more and more often. Secondly, my second child was not pleased to be in the car or in a cart for much time at all. So I transitioned to 2 or 3 stores a week, tops, to try to get in, get what we needed, and get home before the melt-down occurred. Lastly, COVID. By 2019, I was using very few coupons---mostly for places like Kohls, AC Moore, Michael's , etc. I was no longer using manufacturer coupons, Target had replaced their coupons with Circle deals instead. But during COVID I got so used to shopping online, that now I shop far less than I used to, and I almost never remember to check for any sort of coupon when I do go out.

I used to coupon pretty decently years (decades?) ago, when good coupons were even available.
Mostly for stuff like diapers, wipes, toiletries, etc.
It was before everything was digital though. Before you had to have a phone number and email address with every store to even get their better price. Now every purchase is tracked, data is sold and cross referenced to every other company.
Now I barely get coupons I can use. I don't bother buying the Sunday paper because the coupons are for things I do buy.
My local grocery sometimes prints out decent coupons for your next shopping trip that are related to what you just bought. But they usually only have a week to use before they expire. Or a coupon for $1.50 off your next shopping trip of $50 or more. Stuff like that.

I wouldn't say, that I am an extreme couponer.
I am a budget conscious shopper. Why pay full price, if I don't have to? I am on email or postal mail lists, to receive coupons. I use coupons on a regular basis. Certain places or certain items....I only make a purchase if the item is on sale, I have a coupon or I earn reward points.
I have a sale category in my bookmarks-favorites. Every Sunday, I check to see if anything I need is on sale (been doing this for years). If it's not on sale....then I wait until the next week or two or three....because it will eventually be on sale. Then I stock up.

I never was big into couponing. I am brand loyal, so I would only cut out coupons for brands I actually buy. I did enjoy looking through the coupon section of the Sunday paper though. Today, I rarely use a coupon. I will use the B&N coupon, and once in awhile the Michaels coupon.
I also never played the coupon games at stores like Kohl’s or Macy’s. I got stuck once behind a lady buying a ton of clothes and she had a billion coupons (or so it seemed). It was taking so long to sort out the clothes and coupons she had. Thankfully another sales clerk came and opened the other register. I was done with my transaction before that other lady.

The grocery stores that I typically grocery shop at have digital coupons. So I always check them first, especially if they’re going to expire and it’s something that I would normally need. I think printed coupons have gone the way of many things.

I was never very good with coupons. I would cut them out and then forget I had them. We have a regional grocery chain that sends out coupons once a month and I do use those. We shop mostly at Walmart but whenever I go to this store I try to use some of the coupons. Each month there are one or two items that are completely free so it is a good incentive.

Not really. I never remember to bring them to the store, so I don’t bother trying to save them anymore.

Never. I don't even know where you'd find coupons. When we used to get the store flyers in the mail there was never coupons in there. Maybe it's just a Canadian thing.

I used to use paper coupons fairly often but now use digital coupons at Raley's and Safeway. It is amazing some of the deals I have gotten that way. Often over 50% or more off an item.

Like others who’ve posted, I use my local grocery stores digital coupons.
For other places I use the app Ibotta. It’s pretty much taken the place of the old paper coupons I used to use.

Never, they're always for things I don't need and I mostly only shop at Aldi anyway.

I used to use coupons but then my two main stores Stater Bros and Albertson's started digital deals as well as member reward programs.
So I shop the digital ad at Albertson's, click the coupons then go to digital deals and select what I need.
I then save money with that and then earn points to turn into money off.
I average 30-40% off each trip with some at 50% off.
I am a paid member so I get $5 off each month and $2 Starbucks grande order coupon and my points do not expire.
I just used 12 points last week and my $5 off coupon so I saved $25 on top of the coupon and in store digital deals.

I like to save my points in October and November as well as part of December so when I have to buy food for the holidays, I save quite a bit of money.

I was an extreme couponers (not to the extent of what was on TV at the time).. but I had my fair share of stockpile.. I had one cabinet that was pretty full most of the time. Everything got used and some I shared with my bff. Anyways, as it got too hard and I got burned out.
I don't other than using apps on my phone for deals.. even that I am not always that great with it. Otherwise, not often.. There are some that I get in the mail, oil changes, Dairy Queen, Kohls.. those are the ones I try to use (although I am bad at forgetting them..lol)

Yes. It's a fun game for me. I did it when extreme couponing was becoming a thing. I never had the stockpile but I would coupon and have some stuff on hand. Then didn't do it for a long time. In the last year or so, got back into it. It's changed because gone are the days of the paper inserts with coupons, they are all digital now. So it's different than it was but still doable.
I have a few I follow in IG that post the best deals for Target, CVS, Walgreens, etc. I use the rewards and gift cards to roll into other purchases. I also started earlier this year using deals at CVS mostly to donate to 2 different organizations that I have a personal heart for.
I love when I get my total but than all the coupons are applied and my total goes way down. It's like a game .
I also use apps like Fetch and Ibotta to get money back. I only do it on items I'm actually purchasing. I don't purchasing things just because there is a rebate or reward on them.

I'll grab coupons for BJs in their app otherwise, I rely on loyalty card discounts.

I use digital coupons at Publix quite frequently. I also love their monthly-ish get a $50 gas gift card for $40 for every $50 you spend on groceries promo (and you can get multiple gas gift cards in a single transaction). I also try to shop their BOGO deals and stock up - they usually rotate every 6 weeks or so.
I tend to look for online coupons before I hit purchase. I also collect rewards points at places like Talbots and Petsmart.
I moved far away from Target - the closest one is an hour away, but it is a sad Target, so the "real" Target is two hours away. I try to take advantage of Circle offers when I go.
I never was into extreme couponing - it doesn't work with my ADHD!

I'll use the app that has in-store coupons for our local grocery store, but honestly, I've been getting everything we need lately at Aldi and not even stopping into the other store.
I do peruse Target's app if I know I need something there, and will also use coupons on the CVS app. Sometimes I'll hit the jackpot between coupons and extra bucks at CVS. I once spent $1.02 (total) on 3 12-packs of Coke. I also used to stack their $4 off any purchase with other coupons for things I knew I needed. I've gotten a few items free that way, or at least very inexpensively.

A lot of stores have moved to digital coupons, so I look clip Kroger, Walgreens, and Dollar General coupons before I go in. Kroger is my favorite - I love watching the number go down at the end.

I used to use them all the time. I had an ongoing stash of shampoo, tP, toothpaste, razor blades, deodorant etc. I never paid full price for any of those types of items. I think the MEGA coupon folks spoiled it for the smaller coupon users like myself.
With that said, I use the coupons that Kroger mails to me and the digital ones I clip in the app. That's about it!
I used to match the coupons in the Sunday paper to the CVS ad and get some great deals every week. I'd pair that up with my extra care bucks, and end up with free stuff or pennies for a tube of toothpaste. When I was ready to go, DH would come with me and we'd stop for breakfast. I have some fun memories of those days.

I pretty much only use the ones in the Target app or the rare one that you get if you complain to a company about something. DH bought a pack of batteries that went dead really fast so he complained and they sent him a coupon for $10 off batteries. It’s been hanging on the front of the kitchen cabinet for months and will probably expire before we remember to use it.

rarely - mostly because we're mainly an ingredient household and coupons don't tend to be on ingredients as much as packaged/convenience foods and snacks and also - I shop at Aldi which doesn't coupon.
