Hi everyone! I am just relaxing today ... might see if my girlfriend wants to go to a home decorating store later but if she doesn't, no big deal! I booked a "staycation" at a local city hotel for my dd's and I in August! It is going to be so fun! It is a newer hotel with a great spa! We will be there for two nights ... go to the spa ... eat great food ... hang out in our room and talk our heads off! Yay! I can't wait! I posted this on Facebook today ... I'm fine with the fact that my girls love me but think I'm weird. Dinner tonight will probably be rechauffe pizza ... yum! So what did you decide to do today jeremysgirl? Golf or stay home? What are your plans today? What is on your menu tonight? Have a relaxing Sunday everybody!

Good morning. leannec, your staycation sounds just delightful. Have a great time. I'll bet the girls are looking fwd to it, as well. Yds and his gf are here. They're gonna go out and do their thing, but we're going out to dinner tonight to a Japanese restaurant that yds really enjoys. Ods will be coming over in the afternoon and he'll stay a night or two. I'm gonna be in my happy place. jeremysgirl, I hope that today is a really relaxing and enjoyable day for you! Wishing everyone a fun, relaxing, delightfully great day!

Today has been a normal Sunday. Church this morning. We had a baptism of a new member of our community, little Alicia who is 3 months old. DH had to leave as soon as Mass ended to get to the airport to fly to Copenhagen. He’ll be gone until the middle of next week now - all in Sweden, but different cities. I stayed a bit to celebrate - we always have Prosecco and cake after baptisms, as well as our regular coffee and tea. I sat down to watch TV after lunch and fell asleep!
For dinner tonight I’m going to cook myself a burger. Not sure yet what else - I think I have burger buns in the freezer, or I’ll have it naked with corn and salad or potatoes.

Dh and I walked at the Town Center but I forgot my Fitbit. Dinner might be pot roast. Stay cool everyone! Day 3 –The Golden Circle of Iceland Part 3 After leaving the waterfall we headed out to Laugarvatn Fontana which is a Spa & Wellness center built on natural hot springs. It is one of Iceland's best attractions where you enjoy steam baths, geothermal pools & more. Sadly, we weren’t there for those reasons! We were there to see where they bake bread in the mud and boil eggs in the boiling water near the shore. The bread bakes for about 24 hours and we got to sample some. It was quite tasty! They put rocks on the mounds so they know where the bread is buried. As we were walking along the boardwalk next to the water, we saw a man boiling eggs! Fascinating! As we headed to the tomato farm, clouds were starting to gather.

Happy Sunday!
I had to go to the store this morning to get some things I forgot in my grocery order yesterday and it was already in the 90s. I wanted to pick up some prosecco and have a mimosa with my brunch but had to make sure it was after 10am because you can't buy alcohol before that on Sundays. Just a fun fact of living in the South.
Tonight, I'm going to make chicken tikka masala in the instant pot. My parents are coming over and they've only had Indian food a few times so I'm not sure if they are going to like it or not. I've been in such a rut with my cooking that I wanted to switch things up a bit.
Temps are going to be 99-100 for the next 10 days so I'll be hiding in my air-conditioned house.
Hope you all have a great day!

In the olden days (when I lived in Louisiana) you couldn't buy hard liquor at all on Sundays. Only beer. And most stores were closed. I loved visiting my sister in CA as we could go to the mall on Sundays.

I used to do my grocery shopping early on Sundays before I started doing pick up and it used to be that you couldn't buy alcohol before noon and then they changed it to 10 am. My dad always used to talk about the "Blue Laws" where you could only buy certain items of clothing and not others as well as the liquor restrictions. Craziness!

We still can’t buy anything here on Sundays, except bread - bakeries are allowed to open until midday or 1pm. No supermarkets, though we can buy all sorts of alcohol in them on all the other days.

Hi friends! Having a very lazy day today compared to yesterday: DH and I drove up to PA yesterday: Amish market, Hershey Story Museum, ZooAmerica, lunch at the Bear's Den, and the Amish Village. Tonight's dinner will be our go-to Sunday meal: fish, rice, and a veggie.

I also have spent the past two hours working. I've got everything prepped for my two afternoon meetings tomorrow and my Tuesday morning meeting too. I've just logged off. Now I'm going to crochet. I have like 20-25 rows on one sleeve then I'll be ready to piece together my sweater. I'd like to at least make a dent in that project today. Dh and I walked at the Town Center but I forgot my Fitbit. I'm sorry, but if you didn't wear your Fitbit, it didn't really happen. LOL! Today we are going to install new tile on our fireplace hearth. We (meaning dh) cut the tile last night to dry fit it. Hoping the part goes smoothly!! I'd like to see a pic of this. I am having rechauffe for dinner tonight. No biggie. I need groceries and I can step out at 7 tomorrow morning. I need to plan a shopping list.

They didn't have any small pot roasts so I'm making DH a shrimp salad for dinner and I'll finish off the chicken noodle soup I made on Friday. Easy dinner!

Up until a few years ago, we couldnt buy alcohol until after noon on Sundays. Really inconvenient when youre just trying to get your grocery shopping done early in the morning!
We are smoking ribs and will have store bought potato salads and corn on the cob with them.
I picked my first 2 summer squash from my upright squash plant. Hoping to see more flowers pop up soon. We will have squash tomorrow with the leftovers from today

Not a darn thing happening here today. DH is helping YDS get his lawnmower running and Walker and I are sitting on the deck. The hot temperatures have finally broke, the air conditioning is turned off and the windows are open.
Supper will be grilled chicken, mashed potatoes and corn.

We just got back from a family reunion. This is MIL family. It really needs to end. There were only 20 of us there. The consensus is to make it every other year.
Now making out my list of meals for the week we are on vacation. Can't believe we leave on Friday. I am ready!
We finally got rain last night. It wasn't much but what we got was desperately needed. It also cooled the temps down.
DH wants meatloaf again so I guess that's what's for dinner.

tonight there is nothing in the house so it will have to be takeout. maybe italian..

We finished tiling. It’s a small area and no bad attitudes were detected!! Tomorrow we can grout and put the cast iron surround back up. We are getting new flooring the early part of July so this desperately needed to get done with dh’s work schedule.

Dh and I walked at the Town Center but I forgot my Fitbit. Well, I mean, why did you even bother?! There is no point doing any form of exercise if your Fitbit / Garmin / watch doesn't record it! But seriously, if I ever forgot to put on my Fitbit, and then did a long walk, it would seriously ruin my whole day haha! I got an Apple Watch for Christmas, and so far (touch wood) I have never forgotten to put it on. It's usually the first thing I do when I get up.

Rough weekend for me as I am doing 2 nights in a row....last night was clean up from a busy 2 prior shifts....and then set up for mondays cases on the surgicenter side. DH took me out to breakfast this am, then I did a couple of errands before bed.
Dinner was rechauffe there were chicken thighs and a sausage left from the end of the week, I prepped the asparagus and potato so DH just had to follow my written insructions on the cooking end.
We got a lot of rain this weekend and my garden has taken off....I need to start using the herbs...and they are plentiful!!! I do have some green beans coming along and cherry tomatoes may be ready soon!!!

But seriously, if I ever forgot to put on my Fitbit, and then did a long walk, it would seriously ruin my whole day haha! I know, right?! I just added 3,500 steps in my head to what I've gotten since then. I don't wear the Fitbit on my wrist, I just stick it in my pocket. 99.9% of the time I don't forget.

All you ladies talking about "steps" and Fitbits! I do almost no walking unless I am at work and even then it is just down hallways and around classrooms ... at home, nothing much ... a Fitbit would have a conniption on me because I wouldn't feed it enough steps! And the ones that track your sleep would freak out at my terrible sleep habits ... or lack thereof ... I basically do not sleep. My mum doesn't have a Fitbit because she doesn't have a computer to hook it up to ... she is kind of OCD though so she counts her steps in her head! Thousands of them!

My daughter and I went to a concert last night, and we went out for dinner before the concert. We have a method for choosing a restaurant. I send her the link to all the eateries in Acland / Inkerman Streets in St Kilda. She chose five, then I narrowed it down to two, then she made the final decision. Luckily she chose the one that I really wanted to try - I must admit I did drop a hint which she picked up on. So anyway, we went out for..... Mexican! Which is strange for me, because I'm not really into Mexican. But that's because we have really boring Tex-Mex restaurants here. This one looked really good, and it did not disappoint! I would definitely eat there again. CALABAZA Y QUINOA - Arbol chilli roasted pumpkin with quinoa, black bean, herbs and goats curd CEVICHE - Rockling, avocado and ruby grapefruit served with blue corn totopos COSTRA DE CARNITAS - Slow cooked pork shoulder with blackbeans and slaw on bite sized, cheese crust tortilla COSTILLAS - Slow cooked chipotle tamarind pork ribs CHULETA DE CORDERO - Rustic long bone lamb cutlets with sesame ancho rub

This one looked really good, and it did not disappoint! I would definitely eat there again. That food looks awesome ... I would have to take 90% of it home because I could never eat that much! I'm boring ... when I have Mexican I always order a chicken enchilada with red sauce ... of course, Canada is not known for it's Mexican food!

jeremysgirl that pie looks really good! I bet I could get DSO to eat that too. I am planning to make chickpea curry this week. Surprisingly, DSO really likes it. I say surprisingly, because he's not really a fan of vegetables (there is spinach and cherry tomatoes in the curry), and apart from this dish probably wouldn't eat legumes.
