Good morning.
I'm up and out early to the lab. Then I have to pick up ods at the mechanic. We're bringing home bagels for everyone.
Yds and his lovely gf are going to a museum and then a ballgame. I'm trying really hard not to get attached to her, but she's just adorable and I really really really like her. She's so sweet and ds says that her parents and entire family are warm and welcoming.
Ods is just gonna putter around his usual haunts today.
I have a voice lesson in the afternoon. I've been practicing my aria and I hope to make progress today.
Dinner will likely be rechauffe from last night. They all enjoyed the Japanese restaurant and the portions were huge. It was absolutely packed w/a wait. That's always a good sign.
What's on your menu?
What is everyone up to this week?
It's a busier-than-usual week. Tmw I have a dental cleaning. Whoopdeedoo. Dh is trying to get good tickets for Thursday's ballgame. What about you?
May this week be happy, joyful, calm, easy and filled w/good news.

Good morning! The heatwave has finally broken here and we had a lovely storm last night to cool things off. I’m going to do some yard work today and possibly buy a few flowers to color things up a bit.
DD and SIL were here yesterday and did a lot of heavy lifting chores I couldn’t do by myself. I was in charge of the baby so it was a double win for me.
I’m going to make homemade pizza for dinner and take it to DD’s as tonight is SIL’s golf night.
I hope everyone has a wonderful Monday and life treats you well!

Happy Monday!
I just couldn't Monday today and decided to take the day off. I wasn't feeling well last night and I don't think I slept well so I'll just spend the day chillin' and maybe playing my game.
I woke up to a dead baby bunny in my living room. My dog must have brought it in and left it for me. Not exactly the way I wanted to wake up.
Last night I made chicken tikka masala in my instant pot and had my parents over. They have really never had Indian so it was something new for them. My dad who is 92 and doesn't like chicken actually liked it. My mom who is more of an adventurous eater didn't like it at all. It was fun to make something out of the ordinary because I've been so bored with cooking lately.
Tonight will either be salmon or steak. I got both at the grocery store yesterday so I'll see what I feel like this evening.
Have a great day!

I don't have a whole lot planned for the week other than getting my hair trimmed and coloured tomorrow morning ... my roots are out of control! The menu for the week at my mum's place is not to her liking so she will be coming over a few times ... I can't remember if tonight is one of those times! . If it is, we will eat rechauffe snacks from our Scrabble afternoon ... cheese and crackers, sausage, veggies and dip, etc. I might take her to the home decor store with me today ... she gave me a gift card to it for my birthday! If she doesn't want to go, I'll see if my girlfriend does ...

It has started off as a quiet work day, not going to complain about it.
I am going to watch YDGD at her last soccer camp practice tonight. She has never played before and is actually loving it and wanted me to come watch her.
I started working on some summer cards last night. I hope to make some more progress on those tonight.
Dinner will be rechauffe meatloaf.

Good morning! This morning I have a Chiropractic appointment and this afternoon Crazy Rummy. Dinner might be Teriyaki Chicken. Just a few more days of photos from our trip. Day 3 –The Golden Circle of Iceland Part 4 Back on the bus, we head to lunch at Fridheimar Farm, a tomato farm where everything is grown in these enormous hot houses. We had never seen anything like it and the tomato soup and fresh bread were awesome! There are only 20 greenhouse workers dealing with 27,000 plants and all the picking is done by hand, twice a day. The best workers, though, are the bees, imported from the Netherlands. There are around 1,200 bumble bees working at the site, and each bee can pollinate up to 2,000 flowers per day. When they pollinate the flowers, they leave a scent, so they know not to go to the same flower more than once. The natural lifetime of the working bumble bee is only about 6-8 weeks, whilst the queen lives for about a year. Perhaps unsurprisingly, the male bees just fly around and don’t do any work at all. As we were leaving the hothouse, it started raining so several of us took refuge in an old bus stop type of structure.

Monday already? Oi. Dinner this week will be a new to us recipe ( taco pasta). I'll probably chop up some sausage to add a little something more to it. I also may need to schedule a follow-up from my appointment last week. At the time, she diagnosed it as a mild sinus infection, but I'm still having some sore throat and ear pain. My sternum also hurts somewhat when I take a larger than normal breath in. (And of course, because it's who I am, I've Googled things and probably shouldn't.) I'll follow up with her toward the end of the week if I'm still having symptoms because she suggested a throat culture and perhaps a visit to an ENT. Fun times.

rymeswithpurple, Dr. Google always tells you that you have sniffle cancer and will have 2 mins to live. Never pay attention to that stuff. Sinus infections can hang on and they can lead to bronchitis and other yucky stuff that is not scary, just annoying. I hope that you'll feel much better very quickly.

scrapmaven Thank you! 💖 I had outpatient sinus surgery about 5 1/2 years ago, and it definitely helped me in terms of breathing (and realizing how much I wasn't smelling - Bath and Body Works was a nightmare for a few months!). So we'll see how the week progresses and what's on the table next, if anything.

Wow, I can't believe it's almost July !
It's another hot and humid day but the painters are here today. They are doing last minute things so they can start priming. Can't wait to see when the house is all done and painted.
For dinner we are having whatever leftovers are in the fridge.

the soup DOES look amazing!! I'll be honest. I don't eat tomato soup but I ate every bite and almost went back for seconds. The thing that was different was all the seeds in the soup. And the bread, OMG the bread. I only eat bread sparingly but on this trip, I said to heck with my numbers and enjoyed it on occasion. This was one of the occasions! Change of dinner plans ~ salmon burgers with corn-on-the-cob.

Aww...so cute. Don't get your hopes up, but you never know, she could be a keeper! I have a voice lesson in the afternoon. I've been practicing my aria and I hope to make progress today. I wish I could you hear you sing. DD and SIL were here yesterday and did a lot of heavy lifting chores I couldn’t do by myself. I was in charge of the baby so it was a double win for me. This does sound like a win/win. Are you settling in better then? I woke up to a dead baby bunny in my living room. My dog must have brought it in and left it for me. Not exactly the way I wanted to wake up. This made me shiver just thinking about it. It's another hot and humid day but the painters are here today. They are doing last minute things so they can start priming. Can't wait to see when the house is all done and painted. We painted our house in June 2020 and I loved watching the transformation. I always do with paint, but it changed the entire vibe of my house.

I just got an email from ex ... he's a realtor ... he sent me a "sold" listing for a unit in my condo complex ... a unit similar to mine but not even close to being as nice ... It sold for a crazy price! He told me what he thinks my (nicer) unit would be listed at today ... My property has basically increased in value by $100,000 in two years! That is amazing for a condo! I have no plans to move but I'm doing the happy dance!

We will be having bbq pulled chicken sandwiches and coleslaw for dinner.
And the drama for the bathroom continues, the second order for the shower was broken too. Third order is placed. I won't get into the details, but there were swear words involved with the supplier.

DH and I went for a 20 km bike ride along the waterfront this morning and then stopped for Pulled Pork fries at the fry truck before coming home.
The high temps have broken and although it’s hot today, it’s nothing like the humidity from last week.
I’m picking up grandboy #3 from daycare this afternoon and will meet the big boys at the bus. Both mom and dad are working late. This is their last week of school, the last day is Thursday.
Not sure about supper. It will depend on what time I get home from babysitting.

Happy Monday! Found a bit of time to pop in and say hi. It's been a rough few days here as DH hit a wall with the Linvima and had to come off of it, so I've been playing nurse maid as well as holding down the fort. Today is the first day he is beginning to feel a bit better. Hopefully he's better by the end of the week. One bright spot is that his last DNA blood test showed no presence of the cancer (which it had since Feb)! Dinner tonight will be salad for me and some steamed veggies for DH. scrapmaven - so glad your voice lessons are going well! And the drama for the bathroom continues, the second order for the shower was broken too. Third order is placed. What is it with bath fixtures lately? A friend just did some updates in her bathrooms. The tub in the master bath was replaced and the first five came in cracked! They changed brands and the sixth one was finally all in one piece. we head to lunch at Fridheimar Farm, a tomato farm where everything is grown in these enormous hot houses. We had never seen anything like it and the tomato soup and fresh bread were awesome! DD and I took a small private tour there and it was amazing! It was my first time to see a large scale hydroponic operation and it is impressive. Now I'm beginning to see more hydroponic fruits/veggies here locally. The tomato soup was some of the best I've ever tasted. Did you have a chance to try their tomato chutney? A jar of that came home with me. Now I'm craving it once again! Did you have a chance to ride one of the Icelandic horses? Another fun activity! I woke up to a dead baby bunny in my living room. My dog must have brought it in and left it for me. Not exactly the way I wanted to wake up. Am I the only one who immediately thought about the movie Fatal Attraction?

Hello, I am finally arriving back in the land of the living. I didn’t leave for my 4-day crop till late morning on Friday, because whatever that BS stomach bug was that my mom gave me the previous weekend kept hanging on. Had fun, got almost nothing done, situation normal. Have I mentioned that my hall bath is all torn up and being redone, down to the studs? They turned off the water this AM. Now they’re in there drilling. Loudly. Yes, it will be beautiful. Someday. And then we start with the real horror show … the master bath. Don’t know what’s for dinner tonight. Probably salad with beets. Unless someone wants to take me out.

I'm sorry that your dh is feeling so ill. Though it's good news that his DNA test was cancer free. May he feel better, quickly. ((((HUGS)))).
Tearisci, that would have made me very sad. Poor bunny. Dogs and cats just follow their instincts. My neighbor's cat leaves a daily mouse at my neighbor's slider. She wants my neighbor to be proud. Your doggie probably thought, "chew toy".

He disrupted a nest in my rose bushes last year with baby birds. I know it's instinct but nature is cruel!

Tearisci that would freak me out because I wouldn’t be able to touch it. A bird flew into our window last week and died. It was laying on our porch. I made a barricade around it so Poppy couldn’t get it. I made dh get rid of it when he got home. cadoodlebug I’ve never seen a hydroponic farm. That’s so interesting. My cough slowed tremendously so I went to a watercolor workshop. It’s tomorrow too. I thought it might help with my enamels. It might a tiny bit but not really. I’m not a free flow painter either. I sketch everything first and then paint it. This is free flow. It was fun and before I knew it 8 hours were done. We had cheddar bacon burgers that dh burned bad. Better than raw for me though. Waiting for dd to walk at the park with hills. Happy Monday!

I'm glad you are feeling better teddyw. Jeremy and I just weren't super hungry. I had a late lunch and he snacked this afternoon. But he asked for some cookies. So I made some whole wheat chocolate chip walnut cookies. I also picked up a bottle of wine. So that's what I'm eating. Wine and cookies. I went and finalized all the paperwork this afternoon. I officially own my car. Yay!
