Get rid of ALL your paper (maybe except for some exceptions, like a stash of October Afternoon and cardstock) and replace it with just one line of paper? That idea just popped in my head, I would so do that if money wasn't an option. It would help me get rid of a TON of paper, and have a nice selection of one kind of product... I never even bought any yet, but I would go with 49 & Market.

Ha. I have almost done this - unintentionally - and kinda regret it. I was a huge fan of Felicity Jane papers. I had bought the entire line between kits + sales. And I still use it a ton. But now that FJ is the majority of my papers, I am missing the other random papers I liked, lol. It's been almost an entire year since I bought any 12x12 papers, so I indulged this past weekend and bought a crap ton of paper at SB.com to fill in some of my gaps. We will see if it makes it easier for me to scrap or not, lol.

Only if the brand had a really good mix of 'artsy' and 'clean' papers.
I love 49 & Market, but they don't do clean designs with stripes and dots etc.
There are other brands I love that do have clean designs, but they don't have mixed media and artsy papers.

I was really busy for a couple years when I went back to college and my daughter was young, I rarely looked at stuff online except to check emails. My local scrapbook store closed then so I wasn't in there shopping either. During that time I didn't buy any scrapbook supplies. Then when life slowed down a bit and I got back in my online habits my scrapbook shopping came back full force. I know this yet I still look at every new release. Anyway, back to the subject at hand... I couldn't stick to one company, I like a variety of styles and themes in my scrapbooks. Some scrapbook companies (like Doodlebug who I love) use the same core colors and I don't think I would want to be limited to that. Patterned paper is my weakness.

For years I used mostly Close to my Heart and now I will be trying to use it up snd am switching to Stampin Up! I do kind of wish I could go a major purge of paper and stamps I have given a lot away but I still have too much. I’m to the point of wanting to sell some snd have a much smaller stash to deal with.
While I use mostly one line I do occasionally buy other collections say Echo Park or simple stories and I bought a couple packs of Mintay I think it was when I first heard CTMH was closing and we didn’t know about SU stepping in to welcome us. I also subscribe to Elle’s Studio. I don’t know if I could ever just narrow it down to one company.

I like variety & having different options to choose from way too much to limit myself to one company's papers.

No. I need choice based on not only the photos and event but the mood. One paper line isn't going to allow that.

I don’t keep a stash of patterned paper- I buy as the need/mood takes me and then have to use it up before I buy more. That way I don’t get bored or overwhelmed by choices.

All my commonly used cardstock is plain solids, so I suppose I've already achieved this! I do have plenty of patterned paper but it doesn't get used much - just for throwaway tasks like envelopes or test cuts.

Never! I need all the paper from all of the manufacturers. I love doing a Doodlebug layout and then my next layout is Stamperia. My style is all over the place and I appreciate the variety of scrapbook papers there are to choose from.

This thought has crossed my mind...wouldn't it be nice to have a small controlled stash with paper that all coordinates. However, I am way too much of a paper addict and I know that other lines and manufacturers would start to creep in. I have been making a point of mixing my collections more, and am having a lot of fun with that.

Would I have to spend all the time I now spend searching through my stash on something PRODUCTIVE?
I'd have to give up the joy of riffling through my stuff, concurrently looking for just the right piece for this project AND discovering fun things I had forgotten about...
I really like having choices so severely limiting them would not equal fun for me. I think we must be soul sisters.

I couldn't because I like to use different styles of paper, and most of the times companies tend to offer items with a similar feel to them.

Yes & no. I have too much paper, so much that it can be a little overwhelming yet stifling depending on what I'm looking for (especially if I don't know what I want!) Most of that I blame on my multiple years of being a SC scrapbook kit subscriber. I love that the kit got me out of my comfort zone, but I still have a lot left that I don't hate enough to just get rid of. I have also added random papers from non-themed lines that I have liked (anything themed is kept separate).
But...I don't know what I would replace it with. My scrapping style is very eclectic so I couldn't stick to one collection or even one designer/company.

I'm a big purger. Mostly because I don't have the space for a huge stash, but also because I get bored. I like a variety of style. Every 12-18 months I sort through my stash and figure out what can go. For paper, I usually look to see if I will ever use it. I have paper that I just had to have, but my style has changed or I'm just tired of seeing it in my stash while passing it over, again, for something I like better. Sunk cost never comes into play for me. If I bought it and won't use it, I'm never getting my money out of it. I have been toying with the idea of doing card donations so I can use up old paper.
I do get feel a bit of sunk cost guilt about stamps. I try to use a stamp at least once before I purge so I can tell myself I at least used it. I don't feel that way about paper because it is typically so cheap. Stamps have really gotten expensive.
I never purge my dies. Most of my dies are either basic shapes or generic icons (flora and fauna) or create a thing that can be used for almost any occasion.

I have cardstock of all shades that I bought when DD worked for Pebbles. My blue and green drawers are so full and I finally went through them and pulled the really ugly shades and put them on the bottom. Funny thing is, when I need to match a patterned paper, the weird papers at the bottom are the best match. As much as I'd like to clean out those drawers, I just can't!
