All of our locks are Schlage brand (five doors to the outside!) and keyed the same. Two doors have coded deadbolts. On the inside is a regular flip or twist lock. Outside you can use a key or a code. This one. This is exactly what the one my MIL has looks like, as well. Easy to open from the inside. My MIL does keep a key in her purse in case of any issue with it, but so far she's never had an issue. She has arthritis in her hands, and punching in the code is far easier for her than manipulating the key.

We have them on both of our entry doors at home and also on the front door and boathouse at the lake cabin. We love them! I’ve only had to change the batteries in the lock as at home once in the 2+ years we’ve had them and they will beep and let you know when the batteries are getting low. We haven’t noticed an issue with battery life due to the cold and we live where it does get cold. Our front door has a storm door though so it’s somewhat insulated, and the one on the garage service door is inside the heated garage so it’s not an issue. What kind do you have and what kind of batteries do they take? I’m pretty sure they’re all Schlage but not the most or least expensive. The ones I changed took a 9 volt battery.

We have this one. We love it and you can make codes for anyone with a time limit. So for your housekeeper or dogwalker for example. And there is a lot of the doors being unlocked and locked. It has fingerprint, code and fobs plus a key. Veise Smart Lock with... www.amazon.com/dp/B0BLW88QSC?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

This one.We have the same, and have had no trouble for at least 5 years. I went to a coded door because my son kept forgetting his key (and losing it) and I wanted to simplify things. The switch got all his lost keys out of circulation- and also made it so I didn't have to have a key hidden (but how hidden is it if a 13 year old gets it 2 out of 5 days lol) and I did hide one key for the mechanical lock.. as far as I know it's still hidden in the yard of that house- we moved 8 years ago..... he never did need it hahahaha. I truly regret not switching sooner than I did, and that would be the first thing any new home would need for me to live there. Before here, I had a rental for several years. I bought a Schlage, installed it day one, and programmed the key the landlord gave me as the physical key, and never touched that key again. When I moved out, I asked the landlord if they wanted me to put the old lockset back on, they said yes, so I did. Ironically, the electronic lockset was on the counter when we did the walk through, and she asked me if I'd sell it to her, lol

Thanks everyone, I think we are going to go with Schlage as we can rekey it, all the locks on our house are the same amd my husband is loathe to change them all or carry two keys. I don’t get it, but there we are. Hopefully they have a sale for Prime Day, the one he has settled on is pricey.
