I would say lately it's been the Cricut. That stupid thing is awesome.
In the past, I'd definitely give it to the Epson PM-400 and before that, the Canon Selphy. Those are total game-changers in how I approach this craft.

The Tim Holtz paper piercer. I had a couple before that weren't his, but they would get sticky and I would lose the cap constantly (ouch). I loved his when I got it and am considering buying a couple back-ups. I use it constantly to clean up liquid adhesive around tiny places, and to place gems or enamel dots. Love love love it! Although I still don't get the ring at the top.

I have a full set of EK success circle punches. I owned a couple and then just went ahead and filled in all the gaps. I love circles, and I just find the punches so much quicker than dies. I use them constantly. Me, too! I wish they made a 3.25" circle. I used them to cut circles for journaling and to cut out elements from patterned cardstock, especially those papers with 2x2 squares of various icons or sayings. I agree!!! I would snap it up in a heartbeat.

An artist's palette knife. I know, you're thinking "What the heck? there's no paint in scrapbooking, oh is this for pastes?" Nope. It's not! I use my two palette knifes constantly for all sorts of scrappy tasks. Got something stuck down and you want to separate it, but the adhesive is already set? Palette knife to the rescue! Glue squeeze-out emergency? Need a temporary shield while you apply ink or colour? A temporary "wand" to attach something to while you decide on an exact placement? It's my JOAT tool. Durable, flexible, easy to clean, and probably really great for stencilling pastes, mixed media and the like as well. Anywhere my fat fingers can't fit, the palette knife usually can.

That is a great idea! I have one that doesn't get much use. I am going to pull it out.

This entire thread is a great list. I love my PM-400, Genesis custom paper trimmer, and my ATG - those I prob use the most and have had the greatest impact on my crafting overall. Along with a Creative Memories multi purpose tool that I use like the palette knife references above. Those are all things I use every time I scrap.
Beyond that, The Holtz Paper Piercer, Silhouette and Big Shot all get used.

Another vote for the ATG. I thought it looked bulky and unweilding. I didn't like the idea of the price of the refills (thinking they wouldn't last long). Buy was I wrong. I love that thing and have never looked back. Found a seller on etsy that made a holder for it, so it sits nicely on my desk till I need it.

It's actually funny to me how many folks LOVE their ATG. When I got back into card making, I went hard into Club Scrap, their methods, their tools. I bought the ATG and hated it so much I returned it for a refund!

The things I make are incredibly tiny and detailed, there's no freakin' way without liquid glue. I sometimes use the tip of a pin to apply it! However for layouts or cards with bigger elements I can see the appeal.

My fiskars procision self sharpening rotary trimmer. It was a hefty price when I first purchased it and I got it at a time when I didn’t have a lot of spare cash but my goodness that thing has made up for the cost a thousand times over and I love that I’ll never have to buy a trimmer blade ever again!
