How long after you met your husband did he propose? Or vice versa if you proposed to him?
And how long have you been married?
I just love hearing about successful and happy marriages!

We started dating Jan 2, picked out the ring in April. He paid it off in August, but we waited til December to officially get engaged so his mom wouldnt flip her lid. She still did. Then BIL got engaged to one girl after 3 months. After they broke up, he got engaged after 1 month and of course, that was fine. 🙄
Anyway, we have been together for 32-1/2 years and married for 28. ❤

We met in high school, hung in the same crowd, and graduated together in 1989. We finally started dating sophomore year of college (we were at different colleges) in 1991, engaged in August 1995, married August 1997 so 27 years next month. ☺️
My sister, on the other hand, was engaged after TWO WEEKS of meeting the guy… they just celebrated their 35th anniversary last month! Boy did my parents freak out when she came home from that date 🤣

Met in January 1998 (knew the moment we met that he was my forever), engaged in April 2000, married in March 2004. We had our 20 year anniversary this year. We actually moved into the house we are in right now on the 4 year anniversary of our meeting.

Boy did my parents freak out when she came home from that date 🤣 My parents would have freaked if any of us got engaged after knowing someone two weeks too! But reading about the 35 years together makes me smile. My sister pointed out a guy at the harbor when we were there cleaning my parent’s boat one weekend. She told me she was going to marry him. I asked his name. I was surprised because she hadn’t mentioned this guy yet. In fact, she had never even had a boyfriend at all yet. She was 17. She said she didn’t know his name because she hadn’t met him yet. She had just seen him around the harbor. She found out he worked on one of the smaller fishing boats in the area. She got herself a job going out on the multiple day fishing trips doing all the meals for the fishermen. That is how she first found out his name. She was very determined. This was over 35 years ago. They are still married today. **I also should add that he had been married before and had a daughter. He told my sister that he wasn’t interested in getting married again and definitely did not want more children. Obviously he changed his mind on getting married. They also have 3 children, and none were surprise babies. I don’t know where he stood on living arrangements, but my sister had always wanted land and horses. They live on a ranch and my sister got her horses. Both of my sisters married around the same time I did, only they both married well and are both still married. My oldest sister married a doctor and they live right on the beach. Then there is me…. .

We were together nearly 10 years before he proposed - 10 years from when we started dating. We knew each other a couple of years before dating. Neither of us wanted to get married as we had both been married before and we didn't plan to have children.
We have been married for over 20 years, so a 30+ year relationship.

Started dating in April 1984.
Engaged about a year later.
Married in August 1986.
DH came to my office to pick up some paperwork. When he got back to his office, he told everyone I'm going to marry that girl. They all laughed.
It will be 38 years next month.

We met in August 2007. Got engaged in March 2012 and married January 1, 2013. We both knew we were each other’s last love. Almost five years after his death I still can’t imagine ever going on a date.

Neither one of us “proposed.” About a year into dating (which is an ETERNITY in Utah) we had a discussion about it and went and bought an engagement ring. We got married about 9 months later.
We celebrated our 25th anniversary earlier this year.

I'm not exactly sure of when we met--we come from neighbouring small towns, but dh is 5 years older than me, so I knew his younger brother and sister through school sports, etc, and dh had played hockey in my town with my friends--but we were 'officially' introduced in October 1992 and started going out within a week. I was 21 and in university for my BA, and dh was 25 and an up and coming financial advisor.
We got engaged in Februrary 1996--we had lunch and I told him that my bff had asked me to move to Vancouver to live with her and go to university there instead of going to the university in my city where I had been accepted for my BEd program and had already gotten my BA ... he showed up to pick me up from my night class with an engagement ring, so I didn't move, lol!
We got married in July 1996 on my in-laws' 40th wedding anniversary, so that means we've been married for 28 years plus one week, and they're at 68 years!

We were a blind date - first date was in June. We got engaged at Christmas six months later in 1992.
We had a year and a half engagement - I had two friends getting married in 1993, 3 weeks apart in august and September. I was in both weddings. I wanted June and was not planning it in six months lol.
This past June we have been married 30 years!
