Thank you for sharing. My very good childhood friend just lost her dad and they did not have a funeral. I was deciding whether to include a mention and how, and I know what to do now. Her family was looking through old photos and found a photo of a basement mural from her old house, which she shared with me. It brought back so many sweet memories of her family. I'm so glad you found a way to document that memory.

I scrap reality in my HP which I do similar to a blur book or log book. So everything can make it into there.
I've made in memory pages for family who have passed. My journaling usually reflects challenges, longings, frustration, etc., as well as gratitude, love, excitement, joy. If I don't want it to be easily seen/read, I tuck it between the pages or hide it on the page.

I scrapbook the negative all the time (I've realized that I use scrapbooking as a therapeutic tool pretty often), but I've learned to choose my words wisely because my oldest daughter loves to sit down and read every single word I've written.😅

My husband passed away very suddenly last June (yeah, PLEASE, go to the doctor, folks!). My core group of friends who are all from the the midwest (I'm in New England) flew out immediately to support me and help plan and attend his celebration of life. I fully intend to scrap those parts of that awful time, but everything else will remain in my brain.

yes I do! There is good and bad in my life and although I prefer the good, the bad has also molded my life. I think its important to scrap both.
