I think that’s what we all call them? If you need a little extra room for a photo, or journaling… I love adding them, but I realized I hate flipping through my albums because those extra flaps are awkward when turning the page. So do you leave as is? Or do you add magents, closures or some other thing to secure the flaps?

I've only done flip-ups once or twice, and they were strictly for small bits of journaling, so I just let them be.
However, I was interested in buying some of the add-ons to make flips for my pocket album, so I will be interested to see what others had to say.
Back in the very early 2000s when I was making 8.5x11 pages, I had some page protectors that had a full length fold out portion and I used to really like those, but they sat flat against the rest of the page so well that sometimes I'd miss that they were even there!

I loved those for 12x12" pages, too. Could have a four page spread all seen at once with one opening on each side! I haven't done any of the mini albums with flaps and pull-outs, or other interactive elements. Just CTMH "flip flaps, that are clear photo pockets that have a sticky strip along one end, which can be attached to the page under the edge of another photo or element, then flip up or out to reveal what is behind it. I have attached those to the page, then cut a slit in the page protector to slip the flap through to make it manouverable.

I like using the Simple Stories photo flips or Creative Memories peekaboo pockets and attach them with ATG. They stay in place well. Most times I don't even add a tab or a chipboard piece to be a handle. I will also add a journal card or ephemera outside of a pocket and use washi tape to create the hinge. People have told me they like to look at pages with flip ups because it's fun to find them. Anything to get them to read the journaling instead of just looking at photos!! I also loved those panorama 12x12 page protectors back in the day. Scrapbook.com has some fold-out pocket page protectors that are fun.

If you go to this ladies Youtube channel www.youtube.com/@craftsomejoy, she has a link to her website. She's mentioned these in videos, but I can't recall which one. She calls them flop stoppers, and they are clear tabs that will stop the flaps from flopping when you turn pages. I haven't ordered any yet, but I want to. I've looked for another source on the web to no avail. I'll try and link to her page also. Here

Thank you brenda89! I’m not familiar with this creator but a quick watch and I subscribed to her channel. I’ll check out the flop stoppers, that sounds exactly like what I need.

Somehow when I was searching Amazon for flop stoppers, camel toe concealers came up. I had no idea that was a product!

i like using wafer thin earth magnets I love using magnets and go through them rapid fire. Where do you find yours? I have a PL album from 2 years ago that I didn’t use magnets on so I need something retroactively.

I just found a product on ACOT called “shut your flap” that I think will work! There’s a pack with 4 sherbet-y colors but I’m going to give them a try.
