Good morning.
Today I need to go to the store for a quick run. I'm making chicken sandwiches, cole slaw and roasted red potatoes. I'm cooking for the neighbors and hope that they'll have more reachauffe. Dh won't eat the coleslaw which I think is just a crime.
What's on your menu?
Apart from cooking I'll be puttering and hopefully, getting my office back together. Then it's voice lesson time in the afternoon.
What are you up to today?
What is everyone up to this week?
It's a quiet week here, but I might get together w/the mom's on Thursday.
**GypsyGirl**, How are you, your dd and your dh doing today? I'm thinking of you.
lucyg, I'm wishing you an easy-as-possible treatment and chemo week. I'm holding you in my thoughts. If I'm missing anyone I apologize.
May this week bring healing to those people and their loved ones who are in need. Wishing a calm and easy week for all!

Apart from cooking I'll be puttering and hopefully, getting my office back together. Then it's voice lesson time in the afternoon. I hope you have a lovely day! How is your singing coming along? How are you, your dd and your dh doing today? I'm thinking of you. **GypsyGirl** I share this sentiment. Did they isolate the infection? I'm wishing you an easy-as-possible treatment and chemo week. I'm holding you in my thoughts. Miss lucyg, I send you all my good wishes. Every single one of them today. I hope you will feel up to checking in with us, but if you don't, no worries. Just take excellent care of yourself. My only meeting this morning had to be rescheduled because someone needed to be out of the office. So Wednesday it is! And a clear schedule for me. My coworker did not feel much like working on that project last week (it was assigned Wednesday and I finished my part on Friday). She also clearly didn't read her emails that the project submission system would be down today and tomorrow. She tried to get in there this morning and sent the boss (director) and the assistant director and me a message this morning stating she was having trouble with the system. I replied that there was an email sent last week stating it would be down Monday and Tuesday. My boss gave me a thumbs up. Hahaha...I told you I was at the humor portion of the job. Honestly, my dinner was so good last night, I'm tempted to make it again tonight. I ended up with smoky black eyed peas, tastes of chipotle pepper/allspice/nutmeg/paprika. Then some wilted greens. Jeremy could not find collards so we went with kale. Tastes of garlic/soy sauce/little zing of lemon. And baked sweet potatoes. I don't know if it was supposed to have all the elements served separately, but I wanted to taste the flavors of each in one bit on my fork. So I piled them up. Seriously delicious. The beans were to die for. Perfect with the sweet potato. See why I have to make it again? I'm drooling. LOL!

I didn’t have any real plans for today. It is cooler than expected and was raining when I woke up, so I had a long breakfast before going out to shop when the rain stopped. I think I am now set for dinner ingredients out to Thursday evening. DS messaged us after they had the night before the funeral Rosary service, which is traditional for Catholics. He sent these two pictures: Lucia with her ‘tea’ and cookie after the service. DS says she thinks it should happen more often at church. This is Sophia’s paragraph for the eulogy. We are all hoping she will be brave enough to read it herself. Dinner for me tonight is Cevapcici - an Eastern European/Balkan/Turkish spiced skinless sausage. As with so much food here, there are disputes over the origin of the simplest things! I have a pack of pre-prepared Greek/Croatian rice which I will heat up for a side and I think there’s also corn.

Seriously Lucia and her cheeks! sueg I think it would be sweet of her to read it but funerals can be hard for kids.

Happy Monday! We are off to a good start as they just finished replacing the broken window from Beryl. Yay! I need to make a run to HEB to pick up some prescriptions and milk, then across the street to Costco for gas. After lunch I'll run down to the hospital for a few hours. DD is going to go up this evening about 7:30 pm. They only allow 1 visitor from 7:30 pm to 6:30 am so she can be it tonight, as I avoid driving at night when I can. Dinner will be a fresh salad and a bit of pasta with the fresh pesto she made last night. lucyg - Thinking of you today and the entire week. Hoping your treatment go easily for you. **GypsyGirl**, How are you, your dd and your dh doing today? I'm thinking of you. The morning report said he rested well and they've taken away a blood pressure medicine, so good news. He is due to have another plasma exchange today (4th of 5). Not sure how long they will leave the tube in for breathing, but they want to leave it long enough to give the meds/treatments to really kick in. They are only lightly sedating him and he was able to communicate yesterday a bit (head nods, thumbs up/down, etc). Since the PLEX treatments wipe him out, I'm expecting him to be very sleepy today though. One day at a time though! We will get through it. Thank you for all the concern and prayers.

Happy Monday! lucyg and @**GypsyGirl** Sending you good thoughts today. I've had a morning full of meetings and then optimizations this afternoon. I leave on Thursday for vacation so I've got quite a bit to get done before then. I had some hamburger left last night so I made instant pot spaghetti. I also took out some chicken breasts over the weekend so I need to use that up. I'll probably make tikka masala with a simmering sauce with naan and rice. My parents don't love Indian food so if they come over, they can have the spaghetti. Hope you all have a great day!

Happy Monday all! Airlines still a bit of a mess yesterday, so didn't get home until after midnight, but considering how terrible a lot of people's weekends were I'm not complaining! Working through the todo list and trying not to get sucked into the news. Thinking of you lucyg and **GypsyGirl** ! Dinner's up in the air. Although my new air fryer did arrive from prime day. Anyone have any great recipes I should try?

**GypsyGirl** I share this sentiment. Did they isolate the infection? Your dinner sounded like a Southern meal! DH would have loved it! His kind of cooking! As for his condition, they did finally figure out what the issue was last Sunday. He has drug induced Myasthenia Gravis. It's an autoimmune neuromuscular disease that has affected the muscles that help him breathe and his vision. In his case it has been a result of the Keytruda immunotherapy he'd been taking. Sometimes it goes overboard and attacks healthy parts of the body and that's what has happened here.

**GypsyGirl** , I hope that you can do something to pamper yourself this week. Massage? mani/pedi? This is unbelievable stress and you need a caretaker break. cadoodlebug , did you post that meme for me? LOL. I had to share it w/dh and the boys. Have fun at water aerobics. I wish I could join you in the pool. sueg , Lucia is adorable. That's a very sweet and touching paragraph for Sophia. Children are so honest. I hope that she's able to read it, but if not someone can read it for her. I'm sad that your family is weathering a storm right now. I'm sending healing thoughts for everyone. jeremysgirl , your coworker is well, predictable. You're humor is working well and it's going right over her head. Your boss giving your humor a thumbs up speaks volumes about the way he hides behind you to deal w/her. It's comical and it shouldn't be comical. I hope you have a good week, despite the office clown car.
Tearisci, the period before vacation is like a little vacation, because it's exciting. Woohoo!
Darcy Collins, I hope you got enough sleep last night. I love my air fryer. I'll a couple of easy recipes later.

Your boss giving your humor a thumbs up speaks volumes about the way he hides behind you to deal w/her. I honestly didn't think of it that way. I have a hard time sometimes because I'm always afraid I'm coming off like a know-it-all or teacher's pet. But I have to keep reminding myself that I make mistakes just like anyone else might. But I'm here, doing the job every day. I'm reading my emails and paying attention and not putting things off that I can work on immediately. Basically, I'm doing my job and she is slacking. Old me would have gotten nervous that her work hadn't been done by Friday morning and taken over to do it. New me saw that message, saw no work had been done at 3:30 pm on Friday and let the chips fall.

By pointing out that she did not finish and could have, you are simply exposing her laziness. Plus, you're not getting plaid to do both jobs. You are getting paid to do one job and you do that well. She makes your boss look bad, too. GOOD!

I still have chicken leftovers and will stop at the store for more salad stuff. another lovely grey foggy day. have a few errands. but tackling my extra room more.. that will be the theme for next two weeks. my dh said. (he is out of town) "well I don't mind the chaos" and I told him you would.. the half of our bedroom is piled up high and you can barely get to one side of the bed.
washed the walls yesterday, will clean out the closet and will start arranging the limited furniture I have in there.. then purging and organizing.

I thought it was an infection in his lungs. Apparently I don't read well. Will it reverse with time? Oh he had a lung infection as well! He's been a very sick fellow. They have been giving antibiotics for that and it is clearing up. As for reversing with time, I did ask that. They are unsure but says if it doesn't it is very controllable. So at this point it is the least of our worries. Getting him back to healthy again and continuing to deal with the cancer if/when it returns is foremost.

ntsf, sounds like you ate your Wheaties this morning. The room will look great and you'll feel so free once done. **GypsyGirl**, may the cancer be gone for good and may your dh make a stellar recovery. The neighbors are being given a bunch of food from their family friend. So, I'm off the hook. That is one task I can take off of my list. I have too many ciabatta buns. Anyone want a seasoned chicken sandwich?

Happy Monday everyone! I am fixing spaghetti with meatballs and salad for dinner. Working on laundry, start a new book and later this week it will be busy. Going back to get my glasses fixed again this will be my 3rd attempt I think I am not going to do bifocals as they can't get them right. Oil changed in car, need a new watch battery, taking Americana decorations down outside and I am going to a folk art festival on the weekend if I decide it's not too hot.

I did my walk early this morning so I could stop at the hearing aid place and the pharmacy to renew a prescription. One of my hearing aids broke - the wire connecting the mold to the inner ear part broke off. Of course my warranty just expired in March. It will take 10 days to get it back so thankfully I have an old one that I can use in the meantime.
YDS is here getting DH to help him replace a part in his girlfriend’s car. This is the second time they’ve tried to replace it. The first time the company sent the wrong part. Hopefully all goes well this time.
Hmmm… supper?? Need to think about it.

I knew he had a reaction to the Keytruda. I knew it had set off this chain reaction. But I thought we were left with culturing for a lung infection at this point. I didn't realize all this was still part of the Keytruda snowball.

I hope the funeral is a celebration of a life well lived. The Catholic funeral mass is a beautiful ceremony. I’m having a slow day. I’ll run a few errands and go to DD’s for our weekly dinner. Hi all!
Sending good wishes to one and all! 💕
It's been a mostly quiet day at work, so that's given me some time to prep for some upcoming meetings, which I always enjoy taking part in.
My doctor posted the results of the lab work that I already saw, so hopefully she'll give me a post-visit summary soon. I don't necessarily need it, but it is nice to have as a reference point. I am curious what she'll say about the lower than normal glucose levels. I don't think I've ever had that before, so perhaps it was just an off-day.
Dinner this week will be wedding soup and bread. Nothing too fancy, but sure is tasty.

Good Afternoon!
It was a busy weekend so I didn't get a chance to post. I had a bridal shower from h*ll. It lasted 4 hours! Our county fair started this weekend so we were there most of yesterday. The youngest 2 DGD's participated in the kiddie tractor pull.
Today has been crazy at the office.
Sending hugs to all that need them!
No clue for dinner...

It's been a quiet day for me and I decided to take advantage of DH going to Costco, having him pick up a chicken and the Sweet Kale bagged salad for dinner. There is pita bread and a couple dips to round out the meal. We've been doing meatless Monday for a couple years and I'd planned to make a big veggie tofu stir-fry with soba noddles, but it would have involved a grocery run I just didn't feel like doing. Your dinner looks amazing, jeremysgirl. DH loves greens & beans. I didn't grow up eating either so I have to be reminded to throw them on the menu. Glad your DD is around to support both you & her dad, **GypsyGirl**. Sending all the healing vibes his way and gentle hugs to you. I can't remember if I mentioned, but all 3 of my family members are in therapy and/or on medication with my diagnosis and it has made a difference for them in managing the stress. Gentle hugs. Hope it was an easy day, lucyg.

bc2ca are you coming back to the Island anytime soon? We still need to go to White Heather for tea. Or the Gatsby Mansion. Both have excellent tea. Gatsby is right close to the water and we could walk Dallas Road after that. It’s pretty nice. I need to go to The Irish Linens Shop down town and their stuff is lovely. I wish we still had all the china shops. They were fun. Dinner tonight is leftovers again. They are easy.
