Do you find yourself buying a lot of backups to the supplies you love and own? How much of consumable supplies do you feel like you need so you don't run out or get caught short without them? Do you buy back ups of things that you worry will get discontinued or be out of stock frequently? Do you ever feel like you have too much of a stock of something, or does it make you feel comfortable having several backups? Where or how do you store all your back up supplies? Do you ever wish you did not have that much of a supply stored?

I do find myself buying backups-just doing a bit of an inventory audit this weekend, I have several back up plates and mats to my Empress, about 15 rolls of ATG tape, a pack of dauber heads, a back up of Gathered Twig oxide, and a back up ream of paper for cardmaking because it was on an excellent sale.
I do feel like I need a lot of back up tape. Being near to out of adhesive makes me jumpy!
I know that the Anna Griffen magnetic mats are not always in stock, so when they were I got 3.
I have a lot of lake paper. I feel like good lake paper is hard to come by, so when I see it I buy lots. I probably have too much now.
This is what prompted this question-I have so much stuff I am running out of room to store the back up supplies. They are shoved in the back of drawers.
I do think I should have slowed down on paper a couple years ago. Tuesday morning really amped up my supplies.

Not really.
ATG tape because I ordered 24 rolls online recently.
White cardstock. I bought a 250-sheet pack at the end of 2022. That online store no longer exists so I don't know if I will be able to do that again...
Two ATG's because mine started to act weird, and I discovered they don't make them for scrapbooking anymore and I wanted a back-up.
I don't have a ton of space in my craft corner, so I have extra stuff stored outside of my scrapbook area in a cabinet.

Not really, other than some adhesives (especially ATG rolls). I tend to move out older items to make room for new things...and then forget I had the old items until I come across them in an unexpected place.

Do you find yourself buying a lot of backups to the supplies you love and own?
not really - only the consumable basics like adhesive and black/white cardstock - oh and page protectors - I buy 8.5x11 in a 200 pack and was horrified to run out the other day. Fortunately they are available at our local office max and I was able to restock within hours. Crisis averted.
How much of consumable supplies do you feel like you need so you don't run out or get caught short without them?
I typically have no less than 2 and usually no more than 6 packs of photo squares; one extra Xyron X refill, one extra halfsize clear photo squares, one extra glue dots, and I'll buy a new clear glue when mine is about 2/3 done. I don't like to get lower than a couple of dozen sheets of white cardstock or a dozen black cardstock.
Do you buy back ups of things that you worry will get discontinued or be out of stock frequently?
I did stock up on adhesive when HL changed the packaging and marked down the old. And when the Xyron X was refill was constantly OOS, I did buy three when they came back in (one to use, one for my standard backup, and one as a spare in case they were OOS again). Otherwise, no not really.
Do you ever feel like you have too much of a stock of something, or does it make you feel comfortable having several backups?
I probably have "too much" cardstock and patterned paper but I have space for it and I use it so...I'm mainly focused on not adding rather than being worried about my current amount if that makes sense. That said, if DH comes across a destash yard sale? all bets are off because he'll probably buy me a bunch.
Where or how do you store all your back up supplies?
I mainly only have back-up supplies of adhesive so I have a Alex drawer that they live in along with a few other things like extra paintbrushes (I buy the cheap multipack) and extra pop-dots (I buy a big pack and keep one sheet of each size in tool carousel and the rest in the drawer) and foam tape. It's not full so...
Page protectors are in a 9x12 iris type box (8x8s are in the adhesive drawer but I rarely have more than a partial pack since I only have one album going that size)
Do you ever wish you did not have that much of a supply stored?
no - I live rurally and the only stores less than an hour away that sell anything scrapbook related are HL (closed on Sundays) and WM (where I buy black and white cardstock or more accurately, ask DH to pick it up so I can avoid that nightmare myself). So if it isn't available there or they are OOS, I either have to shop online or wait until we go into the city where there is a Joanns, Michaels, and HL - we're there once a month during the school year and only once (back to school shopping) during the summer.

Do you find yourself buying a lot of backups to the supplies you love and own?
I currently keep different tape runners and lots of spare refills. One is Tombow's, because refills are available locally. I have both the regular and extra large Scrapbook Adhesives versions. I got the large one because I was tired of buying refills for the smaller-capacity one, but the refills for large to go OOS often. I also have SB.C's version; their refills also are often OOS. I like all of them, but I'm not sure I love any of them. I like keeping a few types not only because of the OOS issues but also because I find I will use one happily for weeks or months and then get inexplicably annoyed by it. I switch to a different one when that happens. Weird, I think, but it works for me....
How much of consumable supplies do you feel like you need so you don't run out or get caught short without them?
"Need" is such a funny word...consumable supplies are often my go-to for getting to free shipping thresholds, so I generally have ample. Right now, I do not have a spare box of micro glue dots and I am definitely getting twitchy about that. I'm also getting low on my Neenah 110 lb solar white, but trying to convince myself I should wait until it's truly empty. So, how much? Hard to say exactly.
Do you buy back ups of things that you worry will get discontinued or be out of stock frequently? Definitely. And not just with crafting consumables.
Do you ever feel like you have too much of a stock of something, or does it make you feel comfortable having several backups? At one point, I felt I had too many different kinds of tape runners. I narrowed down to two and then drifted back up to the four. Sometimes it seems the tape runner refills are taking over, but still...online ordering (delayed gratification) and frequent OOS (even MORE delayed)....
Where or how do you store all your back up supplies? Closet in the scrap room/office.
Do you ever wish you did not have that much of a supply stored? Only patterned paper, I think. I was supposed to be working it down but found myself succumbing to some temptation lately.

i hoarded scrapbook supplies since 2000. now i’m 58 years old and have more supplies than i can ever use in my lifetime. i love my stash, i just wish i’d started using my “good stuff” sooner. Then I was making the memories, now i have time to record them and great supplies to use.

I’ll answer in terms of cardmaking supplies.
I keep white cardstock, envelopes, and adhesive backstock around. I buy cardstock by the ream and cut down card bases and panels to stock a box in my main drawer, so I can see when I’m getting low and try to look out for a good price. I get a big bottle of glue to refill a smaller one, so again, when I’m putting the last of the big bottle in I can order a new one.
Envelopes are a little trickier because I usually need the odd one here or there and then when I pack a donation box I need 200 all at once! I do sometimes have to wait to send the donations until an envelope order comes in.
I have very little space for backstock and try not to buy more than what my space can hold. Tape runner refills and the glue bottle live in the back space of a drawer. The front space is where my working card bases and small paper pads live, so I’m in there almost every day. Most of my basics come from Amazon (meh) which means I can usually restock within 2 days.
I don’t keep a huge stash of paper and die cuts around but I’ve also never run out of things to craft with!

I never feel like I have too much. My opinion is "there's no such thing as too many scrapbook supplies", the more the merrier.
I do sometimes think....why did I buy that? what was I thinking?. Usually paper....I liked or loved it at the time of purchase, but when going through my stash >> I no longer like it and will put it in the donate pile. I also cut apart sticker sheets or separate die cut and embellishment packages, and discard the stuff I know I won't use.
I often buy multiples. Usually patterned paper, alphabet letters, word and sayings, stickers. Multiples can be used differently on various layouts. Same item, different look. I don't consider having, buying or storing "multiples" to be hoarding or excessive. I consider it to be "It's cute" and can be used in more than one way.
I don't have a separate storage for multiples, it's all stored together (meaning...it's either in that theme's category or in that color's or pattern 13 x 13 storage envelope or in a miscellaneous items binder(s).
Edited to add: I have had many products for many years-decades. Just waiting for the right photographs to use it.

Do you find yourself buying a lot of backups to the supplies you love and own? Bazzill cardstock (in frequently-used colors) & E-Z Runner adhesives (Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L) are the only supplies that I buy multiples per order & restock to always have on hand. My only duplicate tools are scissors (ie two pairs each of Cutter Bee Precision & WRM Spring Loaded Scissors) & pens (a couple black Sakura Pigma Micro pens in the same nib/mm size).
How much of consumable supplies do you feel like you need so you don't run out or get caught short without them? None, but prefer at least one extra adhesive runner & a couple sheets of cardstock in each frequently-used color.
Do you buy back ups of things that you worry will get discontinued or be out of stock frequently? Only adhesive & cardstock (in frequently-used colors)
Do you ever feel like you have too much of a stock of something, or does it make you feel comfortable having several backups? No Where or how do you store all your back up supplies? All cardstock is stored together by manufacturer then texture & loosely by color in magazine-style holders, a new adhesive runner & pen in the top drawer of my project table, & any extras (i.e. adhesives, scissors, & pens) together in a bin in the craft room closet.
Do you ever wish you did not have that much of a supply stored? No

Please don’t ask to see my stash of “Wolfpack” papers by Heidi swapp - I bought them from a company going out of business and I may have bought a few (too many) but it’s a collection where every paper spoke to me… like almost literally 😂
I also bought out all the white and black cardstock from another shop that closed its doors - no regrets as I will use this easily.
Adhesive - I buy in bulk when I see a good price as there is nothing worse than running out of your favourite!
Albums - I went bananas a couple of months ago when I realised that an album was on sale, that I could apply an additional discount code, and that the shipping to me was stupid cheap and may have been calculated incorrectly… and I regret nothing as I now have albums for my dd and ds until they are 18 at which time I assume they will feature in my scrapbooks less 😁
All the extras are stored in cube units in my dining room until I get to them. I’m okay with this as if my financial situation changes I have enough to keep me scrapping for a while, and as scrapping is like art therapy to me it’s important that I can have it as a go to at all times.

Do you find yourself buying a lot of backups to the supplies you love and own? : Only very occasionally. Sometimes I find that a line of paper is so incredibly versatile for me, that I want more of it, and I will look to buy more of it, but that's not something that happens terribly often.
How much of consumable supplies do you feel like you need so you don't run out or get caught short without them? I'm happy to just have 1 back-up. I don't use anything very specialized or fancy, so I can get ore of any of it very quickly, giving me no reason to have numerous units of the same thing.
Do you buy back ups of things that you worry will get discontinued or be out of stock frequently? If I hear a company is going out of business, I will look to see if I can buy some of their product via a warehouse sale or clearance type event, IF I really like their products. For example, I did buy several sheets of Mini Market alphas when the writing was on the wall about October Afternoon.
Do you ever feel like you have too much of a stock of something, or does it make you feel comfortable having several backups? Nope. It's really not an issue at all for me.
Where or how do you store all your back up supplies? Because I have so few I just store the back-up along with the one I'm currently using. So if I keep my current zig glue pen in Drawer "A", then my back-up is there as well.
Do you ever wish you did not have that much of a supply stored? Not at all. I firmly stand by the concept of not out-buying for your space, and I have always had a very small scrapping/crafting space. So my supplies do not take up that much room.

I have a large supply of all my adhesives. I buy ATG tape, photo squares, Tombow refills, and glue pens at least a dozen at a time.
I always have 2 or 3 packages of white cardstock in both 12x12 and 8.5x11.
The only thing I may regret stocking up on is royal blue cardstock, because my grandson may switch high schools. It's not a big deal, though. I'm sure it cost less than $20.
I love my stash. I have plenty of room in my house for extras. The extra adhesives are stored in a dresser the tv sits on in my family room, not far from my scrap area.
So, no, no regrets!

Do you find yourself buying a lot of backups to the supplies you love and own?
Yes, I do this with paper. If it is one I really love and can see myself using in multiple ways, I buy 1 extra. So if I buy 2 for DD and ds, I will add a third to keep on hand.
How much of consumable supplies do you feel like you need so you don't run out or get caught short without them?
I always have 3 backups of my tape runner refill (the squares for the roller) and 2 bottles of liquid glue. I only keep 1 specialty liquid white glue and 1 roll of double sided adhesive. Oh and I buy the 3 pack of teal tape from SB.com. Oh and 2 extra black ink pad.
Do you buy back ups of things that you worry will get discontinued or be out of stock frequently?
No because I know there will be something down the line I will love. I don't let FOMA get me.
Do you ever feel like you have too much of a stock of something, or does it make you feel comfortable having several backups?
I routinely go through my stash so no I do not feel like I have too much. Having a small space has taught me how to keep things under control. I like the back up of say glue and tape because it has a small foot print and is easily stored in a drawer. I do that so I don't have to stop mid page or project to go but more. Been there, done that.
Where or how do you store all your back up supplies?
Glue, tape, sticky squares are in a small square drawer. Extra black ink pads is with my other inks. Extra paper I buy because I like it and want to use for different projects is stored with my other paper.
Do you ever wish you did not have that much of a supply stored?
No because it isn't a lot and is very manageable. Like I said, I purge at least 2 times a year, sometimes 3. I just did that yesterday with autumn/Halloween paper and embellishments.

Do you find yourself buying a lot of backups to the supplies you love and own?
Paper and embellishments are a big issue for me. It's like I think they will never make cute paper again.
How much of consumable supplies do you feel like you need so you don't run out or get caught short without them?
I am a slow scrapper, so realistically, I don't need that much. I certainly have more than I need.
Do you buy back ups of things that you worry will get discontinued or be out of stock frequently?
This is definitely something I do. If there is a supply that I love, I make sure that I have it.
Do you ever feel like you have too much of a stock of something, or does it make you feel comfortable having several backups?
It depends on what it is. I definitely have way too much paper. But I still love most of it. It's mostly that I have bought too many duplicates, actually. I am fighting a losing battle to reduce how much paper I purchase. I like the back ups of things like foam squares, adhesive, cutting mats, etc. as I can't scrap without them.
Where or how do you store all your back up supplies?
I generally keep all of my extras together with my supplies.
Do you ever wish you did not have that much of a supply stored?
I do wish I had less paper, but I also love it all. Trying to focus on enjoying and using it up, and not increasing my footprint of supplies too much.

Do you find yourself buying a lot of backups to the supplies you love and own? The only things I make sure I always have are white cardstock and adhesive.
How much of consumable supplies do you feel like you need so you don't run out or get caught short without them? For white card stock, when I get to about 15-20 sheets, I'll order a 50 pack. For foam tape, I get those giant rolls from Amazon and when it gets to about 4inches, I'll order a new one. Regular adhesive, I would ordinarily say I would order at 3 ATG rolls but I haven't been pleased with it so I am actively using it up and will switch to score tape. I have a few rolls of that
Do you buy back ups of things that you worry will get discontinued or be out of stock frequently? No.
Do you ever feel like you have too much of a stock of something, or does it make you feel comfortable having several backups? I don't like to keep to keep lots of extras around - it goes for everything, not just scrapbooking. But I will buy some smaller things in bulk when it's economical to do so.
Where or how do you store all your back up supplies? Everything is stored together.
Do you ever wish you did not have that much of a supply stored? Not anymore. I culled my stash so I am not overwhelmed by it.

I have had too many products I like discontinued that it has instilled in me a "get it before it's gone" mentality. So yes I buy backups.
Storage is an issue since I don't have an actual scrapbook room.
I often wish I didn't have so much stuff, but I love it all so I don't want to get rid of it.

Do you find yourself buying a lot of backups to the supplies you love and own? Not as much as I used to - I used to buy four or more of every cardstock color I liked. (I guess the plus to this is that I haven't bought cardstock in YEARS ) A few years ago, my much-loved LSS went out of business, and I bought so much sale stuff from them. Hundreds of dollars worth. At the time I really thought it was the beginning of the end of scrapbooking and in my panic assumed I would never be able to find scrap supplies ever again. It was a bit dramatic of me How much of consumable supplies do you feel like you need so you don't run out or get caught short without them? Not that much - I have Michaels, Hobby Lobby and Joanns in my city plus two great LSSs within 50 miles. But I do stock up on adhesive and white cardstock. Do you buy back ups of things that you worry will get discontinued or be out of stock frequently? Yes. So many favorites have been discontinued over the years! Do you ever feel like you have too much of a stock of something, or does it make you feel comfortable having several backups?
Definitely feel like I have too much. I did a giant purge a couple months ago and now have three large Rubbermaid totes of things I need to sell. Where or how do you store all your back up supplies? In a closet in my scrapbook room. Do you ever wish you did not have that much of a supply stored?
Oh yes.

So, on the other hand, I just took a look at how much heavy white card stock I have leftover from various S&CT events and maybe I should make all that up into card bases first. Plus, the ream I got in March of 2023 was 125 sheets, so I'm about 80% through it. On the THIRD hand Neenah, both 80 and 110 lb, does go OOS occasionally at my preferred etailer. What to do, what to do...?

Do you find yourself buying a lot of backups to the supplies you love and own? Yes and like others have mentioned I am kinda like that in other areas of my life as well. How much of consumable supplies do you feel like you need so you don't run out or get caught short without them? I honestly can say I will never run out lol. My two main priorities would be cardstock and adhesive. I get my adhesive in bulk on amazon and have quite a cardstock stash, so I am good. Do you buy back ups of things that you worry will get discontinued or be out of stock frequently? Yes Do you ever feel like you have too much of a stock of something, or does it make you feel comfortable having several backups? I am comfortable with the back ups I have, and in scrapbooking I don't feel any stress, but in some other areas (particularly clothing, kitchen stuff and pantry type food) I need to chill out. Where or how do you store all your back up supplies? Most everything is in my scrapbook room, albums and some extra page protectors are on my bookshelf with finished albums. Do you ever wish you did not have that much of a supply stored? No, am good with it

Do you find yourself buying a lot of backups to the supplies you love and own? I do not have many duplicates or backup of supplies, but I have a huge supply of many kinds of paper, inks, mixed media, etc!
How much of consumable supplies do you feel like you need so you don't run out or get caught short without them? Right now I am good. At the last convention I found some great deals and stocked up on consumable adhesive. I'm good on white cardstock for cards.
Do you buy back ups of things that you worry will get discontinued or be out of stock frequently? Yes, I have backups of things that went out of stock frequently.
Do you ever feel like you have too much of a stock of something, or does it make you feel comfortable having several backups? Yes, if they age out . . . some stickers, chipboard, etc lost their stickiness. Some embellishments yellowed, those were thrown out, glad they were not used on many pages thankfylly.
Where or how do you store all your back up supplies? Some are in my craft room. Others are still in moving boxes from the move!
Do you ever wish you did not have that much of a supply stored? No, I like my stuff and am glad when I used something up, and don't have to stop a project until more arrives!

For consumables, I try to always have at least one spare ink cartridge in each color for my printer. If I’m down to three or four tape rolls for my ATG, I buy more. The only other thing I bought back ups for was my Spectrum Noir markers. My LSS had stopped carrying them, but I found a bunch at Winners (like TJ Maxx) and stocked up.

Yes to all the questions. Even though that's a contradictory answer! While having back ups makes me more comfortable, I don't really have the space to store them all, so then that makes me uncomfortable. I've also finally realized that I don't need as many back ups and duplicates as I used to think I did. I'm working hard on using my stash now before adding more to it.

I need a pep talk. I have three stamping platforms. The discontinued SU Stamparatus was my first and is still my fave. I also have a StampWheel and a fake MISTI (the latter being my least favorite in many ways). There are many reasons I love my Stamparatus, most of them boiling down to flexibility: the two open sides mean the ability to stamp on more sizes of paper, the two reversible plates make for really easy batched layered stamping.
Can somebody PLEASE convince me to stop clicking on, or even considering clicking on, for sale Stamparatus posts on FaceBook?! I really, really, really don't need a backup Stamparatus, right? Mine is going to last forever and ever or at least until the MISTI patent expires...right?!
p.s. If you're looking for a stamping platform, while some are going for stupid money on FB, I've seen others at a completely reasonable $60 or so. $60 I, personally, should be spending elsewhere, of course....

Do you ever feel like you have too much of a stock of something, or does it make you feel comfortable having several backups? 5. Where or how do you store all your back up supplies? 6. Do you ever wish you did not have that much of a supply stored? 1. I did in the past. Now my hoard is sufficient. I will never run out of anything. 2. This is hard to gauge, especially for adhesive, since I use a LOT of adhesive. However, I did stock up pre-COVID, because I was teaching a free card class in my home, and I bought adhesive rolls every time I found them at Tuesday Morning. I stopped teaching the class when COVID hit, so I am set for years. 3. Not often. I used to, but since my stash is so large, I doubt that I will run out of anything before I die. 4. I am comfortable having back ups, but I probably have more than I need of adhesive, card stock, and patterned papers. Does that mean I will sell or give any of it away? Not unless I stop crafting, which is highly unlikely. 5. In my craft room. It is a large loft. I have shelves, cubbies, a desk, and a decent closet that help store everything. 6. Nope. I have no LSS close to me. I am a caregiver. I don’t have time to go shopping for scrapbook supplies, so I shop my stash. It works for me.

I 100% feel you. I know I don't need a back up Tim Holtz Tonic stamping platform, I know I don't. But Amazon just had them for 42.00 and it was very hard to say no. I did say no, but only because I had just placed a Picket Fence order...I also don't probably need an Altenew Stampwheel but I think I am going to put it on my Christmas list lol...
