For anyone who has this have you had any issues?
I bought mine on Prime Day after being enabled here. Yesterday I unboxed it and the sandwich won’t go through. It’s too thick. I’ve tried over and over, removed plate B, tried a different die, restacked the plates…I’m at a loss.

I have a Platinum Six and haven't had a problem with running a die through. But I'd reach out to Spellbinders to see what is going on. Does the sandwich run through smoothly without a die? Or is it too tight with just cardstock? It's just odd that it won't run through.
To further enable you, I like the SB.com magic mat for die cutting replacing the bottom C plate. ;)

I have a couple of brand new magic mats. I didn’t try one. Yes, it goes through without cardstock and a die.

When someone asked for reviews on a previous thread, I posted this:
When Spellbinders announced the Scout, I preordered a Scout and matching P6. The Platinum cuts great (still haven't tried the Scout) but when I was taking the PinkFresh Foil/BetterPress class, I was using a few other BP plates and dies I had purchased from PF and I could not get the P6 to accept one of the dies at all. It was just too thick to go through. Not certain if the die is defective or my Platinum is too tight. The die cut perfectly in my Gemini though. I bought the machine to specifically work with all my PF BetterPress plates though, so I'm a little frustrated. I need to try the rest of them with the Platinum to see if it's a one off or if they are all a problem.
I haven't tried any more BP plates, but so far everything else has gone through. It's really tight though.

What sandwich are you using? I followed the instructions to the letter. Over and over, different dies, same results.

You don't accidentally have the shim in between the two baseplate pieces or anything like that?

Sorry, just got back to my scrapping area.
I just tried it with A (platform base) , B (platform top), magic mat, card stock, die and C (cutting plate) and it cut leaving a deep indentation in the brand new magic mat.
Then I tried A, B, C, paper, die, and C and it will not go through.
I will use a magic mat for now and continue Spellbinders to see what they say.
Thanks all!

And the cutting plates don't have any of that clear protective film on them or anything, right?
I looked at the pack of 2 replacement plates in my closet and they don't, but they're packed in a sleeve with tissue paper between them. I can't remember if there was something like that on the ones that came with my machine....

The magic mat is used IN PLACE OF one of the plates.

I think you have a defective machine. The A, B, C, paper, die, and C sandwich with a wafer thin die should absolutely go thru the machine. Don’t let spellbinders off the hook. Send them a video if necessary. Good Luck!

Thanks for your responses.
I emailed Spellbinders today. I could do an Amazon return but would rather not have to.

Sometimes Amazon sends out a returned product and since it looks okay they send it as new. I recently purchased a Spellbinders Quick Trimmer from Amazon. The package was supposed to include one blade for foil and one for paper. It had both for paper. I started a return and replacement and they sent me a new one which had the correct blades. (I only wanted it for foil trimming and if they’d sent one with two foil blades and none for paper I’d have kept it).

I decided to end the misery and return the machine for a replacement.
I emailed Spellbinders and explained, as I did here, that the sandwich would not go through.
This was their response:
Thank you for contacting Spellbinders Customer support!
Spellbinders dies are a universal die and most dies on the market are the same standard thickness. That said, there can be variances with dies based on how intricate they may be as well as the individual die cut machine being used. I offer some suggestions for you to please consider: *If you haven't already done so, please try adding a shim (piece of additional paper), to add thickness in certain areas. *What thickness of paper are you using? Sometimes using thinner paper makes it difficult to cut. *Most of the pressure from standard die cut machines are on the right and left of the machine, please try placing your die towards the sides of the machine (rather than in the center) to see if that helps *If you have access to a different die cut machine, have you tried using the die on a different machine to see if it cuts? *One of the best tips I have tried when using intricate dies is placing a piece of wax paper between the die and paper being used. Quite often, visuals are helpful in allowing us to diagnose things. If the above items are not working, could you please send pictures of the results you are receiving to allow us to see what is happening?
They are obviously used to dealing with folks who can’t get the dies to cut completely. Reading my email would have been helpful.

KelleeM That is a horrible response. It's clear they didn't read your email, but just sent out their canned response. I'm glad you returned it!

Reading my email would have been helpful. I had problems with a BetterPress I purchased from Amazon, and the seller was telling me to contact SpellBinders, so I did. It took so long for them to respond, only to give me a hand-off to another email box. Their customer service could really use an overhaul. I'm hoping you get a useable machine, KelleeM!

I hadn't opened it because I was waiting to re-do my scraproom, but I thought I'd better check it after reading your post. It's a very tight fit even without the paper and dies, but I was able to run it through with paper & die and it cut beautifully...so much better than my Big Shot. Whew! I'm sorry yours didn't work at all, but I'm glad you were able to return it.
