I just uploaded my July photos from my DSLR to my computer. Wanna know how many? 1269 photos! This does not include the pic's I snapped with my phone. Now July was a busy month. We had Canada Day, two different groups of kids/grandkids here at the farm, and a gathering with my brother's family. But 1200+ is a lot of photos!
I have already gone through these pic's at the Kodak kiosk at WalMart, selected and printed about 200 of them, but I wasn't happy with the selections I made, so am printing a couple of specific photos for a page I am working on.
How many photos do you take in a typical month? How about in a month with some special events?

Whew! That's a lot! I have about 230 pictures in my Google photo album for the month of July. Admittedly, most are of our cat, but we also did a day trip to Baltimore and our nephew's birthday party. I definitely take more when we go on trips, but I'm trying to get better at taking more because I want to do a Project Life album next year. I didn't in 2020 when we turned 30, so why not start with the year we turn 35?

So far I have 685 in July, but we are currently on a relaxing vacation so more to come today (but not a crazy amount).
June was 972 but we also did a day at Disney so that skewed the results.

So far July has 600ish photos, but there are some photos stuck on my DSLR I need to figure out how to get off the camera (USB issues) that are not included in that number.
July was vacation photos, and the 4th of July plus it's summer so I generally take more pictures than in November or January. January last year was in the 200 range.
ETA: there were 150 photos on my DSLR. So 750 in July so far. I haven't probed the children to hand over their phones in case there are any vacation photos on there that I can use.

July so far has 145 plus an additional 99 from my big kids. BUT I don't have DD17's Boundary Waters photos yet so that'll increase when she downloads those from her phone and go-pro.
So months when someone is travelling = more photos. Months when we're all together = more photos. December = more photos even if the first two don't apply, lol.
it's a far different world than when DS32 was little and there are entire months with no (or only a couple of) photos

Way, way less, BUT I don't carry a phone and my camera is old and now sucks, LOL! So that sucks some of the joy out of taking pics. Plus my kids are older and don't love being my subjects any more. And because we're funneling funds in to other things at the moment, we rarely go or do something new to us right now.
I didn't even take any 4th of July pics this year. I have maybe 12-15 pics for July this year!

Well, I went on a week vacation and came home with over 400 photos- and that is after I deleted the bad ones. I've taken 25 photos of my cat in the past week. That seems pretty typical. I'll probably delete those down to about 5-10. Beside the cat, there isn't much to take photos of unless I see my nephews. If I see my nephews I take a ton.

I just uploaded my phone pictures yesterday: 2513 for July. 2489 came from England Naturally, a lot of those are duplicates to make sure we got a decent shot, and it makes the sorting/editing/printing effort that much harder.

I have 98 for July. That includes a birthday, a holiday, and a trip out of state.

The only reason I have 180-ish photos between my camera and my phone for July is our foster dog's adoption portrait photo shoot. I think I easily took over a 100 of just her to make sure I had some very good ones. (And it paid off, she garnered A LOT of attention and found her perfect forever family among all the applications we received. ) The plan for August is to get back into photography for myself even though one of my wrists is still in a brace. I tip my hat to you with 1200+ photos, grammadee (and double that for kitbop). That's an amazing accomplishment! I can't wait to see how you scrap your favourites.

In an average month, I keep 300-400 photos. I take the most photos in December, October, and July. I average the least between January 1 - whenever it gets warmer outside and/or Easter (March or April) so probably only 200ish photos those months. We traveled to Spain in June, and I kept 630 photos from that trip which included photos I took, my husband took, and my friend took.
My kids are 10 and 15 and spend half their time with their dad so that accounts for some of it. When they were younger and with me 95% of the time, I probably averaged closer to 700-800 photos a month.

You asked this question as I was backing up photos to my external drive, going month by month. So, all I've learned so far is that I have no "typical" month LOL. Some months I only have about 50 photos, then others I have 300-500, and still others where we are on a big vacation, I'll have a few thousand. So an average month is probably around 300.

I only too 511 photos in July. That's not many for me. The reason it's so low is that it's the middle of winter, so I haven't been getting out and about much, plus it's been really busy at work so I feel like I'm tied to my desk.
In summer I take a lot more. In January I took 1280 and in February I took 2270.

I remember when I took photos using film, the rolls came with either 12 or 24 photos per roll, like you said. But do you remember when the film would include an extra 1-3 photos? And how exciting that was? I remember 27 photos on a roll was quite the thrill! It was like getting free prints!

Depending on the month anywhere from 100-3,000 (vacations or big event months). This month I have about 800 on my phone. DH has another 100 probably and I don’t know if I used my real camera. Of those I’ll probably print about 100 for the album.

I had to keep reminding my kids that when the picture was taken it couldn’t be deleted and the camera did run out of pictures. It was such a foreign concept for them. I then talked about how exciting it was back in the day to finally get the pictures back and getting doubles done so we could share. They’ll never understand!

My husband's grandmother LOVES using disposable cameras, and will send us pictures from time to time. My favorite picture she's sent us, though, that she took with one is a picture of a picture. (Unlike your kids, I do remember using them.)
