That's very...weird. If it were any other person, I'd go with the "just lending a hand" concept, but even so, that would be odd. (Video didn't show the other side of the table or the reporter, I'm assuming she wasn't struggling with the cap or anything.) I wonder if he just maybe thought it was his, then realized it wasn't?
Had this been Biden, of course, those Republicans who are conspiracy-minded would be turning it into how he's so clueless he doesn't even know which bottle is his.

If THIS is what you (general you) have to talk about after that mind bogglingly horrific interview, you (general you) need some serious introspection.

For me--I stopped watching about 5 minutes into the interview because he was telling the same lies I have heard before. I moved along because there was nothing new to see or hear.

Weird! And I don't care what VP Harris is. I do know that tfg is an @$$, no matter if he's orange or not.

It was a “power play” by him to make her look bad. He tightened the cap so that when she inevitably needs a drink (her mouth will get dry during the interview), she will have a hard time opening it and will look foolish or weak.

The water bottle was the smallest thing to take place at the shit show on the stage today. Donald Trump is an absolute lunatic. You should have watched for more than five minutes.

I only watched part of the interview session. I saw someone who said this was actually the water bottle he was drinking out of, which would obviously be a different situation. Assuming it was her water bottle, it's a dominance move, like stalking Hillary Clinton around the debate stage, which is not just a decorative nit-picky issue, but indicative of his mode of interacting with people generally and women specifically.
He was incredibly awful today in substance. In what possible universe do you "decide" to be black? You can't say your VP could be president?

Yeah, even I am blown away with the crap that came out of his mouth today. Unbelievable. That man is crazy. librarylady, I don't typically watch or listen to anything from him. This is worth taking the time to see/hear.

When is the media going to start calling for him to drop out of the race? He's clearly mentally incompetent.

This is worth taking the time to see/hear. I read a lot of what he has said, because listening to him is absolute torture for me. But as I started seeing some of the quotes and remarks of trusted sources that said you should listen to the whole thing, I did. I also agree it’s worth listening and watching because he’s on another level with this one.

I saw a clip that showed another water bottle to his right. I think he tightened to be a jerk because he didn’t like her questions.
He said a lot of horrific things today, especially questioning VP Harris’ identity as a black woman.
Tightening the water bottle isn’t the worst thing he said or did today, but it is a good example of his petty, vengeful and childish behavior. And it’s possible to be annoyed by what he did with the water bottle as well as what he said.

I reckon he may be confusing Harris with Nikki Haley. He's certainly confused others with her. He said he's known her a long time and that she had always said she was of Indian heritage. Both Nikki Haley's parents are Indian.

I was curious to hear what Harris Faulkner had to say about the interview. Her responses were cautious and she said nothing bad about Trump tonight. She actually seemed to skip around some of the questions the other Fox host was asking her. www.foxnews.com/video/6359699171112

I watched parts of it, and missed the part where he took that water bottle, but when I joined in, I saw he had one closer to his side, and yet, was drinking out of the one closer to her. When I saw replays and saw how he had to reach across the table to get that water bottle, I thought huh that was wierd. Then the stuff came out about him tightening the bottle. But at some point, he did open and drink from it. So I don't know if he planned to just take her water, or if he tried to tighten the cap and then she didnt fall for it bc when he put it back on the table, it was much closer to him, and then he eventually drank from it himself...

Just so petty and vindictive and childish if making it hard for her to open was his purpose.

When is the media going to start calling for him to drop out of the race? He's clearly mentally incompetent. They are going with more of a “How is Harris going to deal with this?” Type of headline instead of calling out the racism, misogyny, and lying. I’m also at the point where if someone remains a Trump supporter I am judging them extra hard. I cut them no slack because they’ve always been a Republican and use that as an excuse to vote for someone who is clearly unfit and dangerous. They suck as people and Americans. I’m not going to tell them that though. They know this is wrong. We need to continue to rally the good people. The way people jumped on the Kamala messaging shows that people are looking for someone to lead us through this. We want a better future and she is our path forward.

I think the water bottle thing was odd, but it might have been that he was uncomfortable and it was a kind of nervous action. I’m especially inclined to think that since he put the bottle closer to him and then later drank from it.

I find it a bit odd, but I honestly think he thought it was his bottle. He's somewhat faced toward her, not his right side where his bottle is sitting.
What's weird to me is this line from the article: "But their conversation isn't what is drawing people's focus. It's the moment that Trump appears to take a bottle of water that doesn't belong to him." Everything I saw online yesterday, from news articles to conversations on multiple social media platforms, was about what he said; how horrible the interview was; and who on his team thought it was a great idea to let him speak at this event. No one was talking about a water bottle. I'm not familiar with this site, but the people quoted in the article seem to be taking up for him and praising him for being a gentleman by opening her bottle.

It’s definitely odd. I also think it’s kind of strange that they would have his water on that other table off to the other side of him that he’s not facing, vs on the same table as hers since it’s between them.

There’s another bottle on the far side of that table and one on the other side of the reporter.

I’ve not seen one other comment about the water bottle. But plenty on the crazy talk from the interview.
