scrappypeanut Much love to you. Others have given you precious advice and I have little to add except to test out your camera for video recordings beforehand. Maybe look for an easy-to-use, small tripod à la Pixi to set up your camera or phone to record some scenes from the table, a shelf. These "nothing special" moments between family often mean so much looking back. The interactions are simple, straightforward, filled with banter and all the good kind of nonsense that instantly transport you back in time. Whatever you do (or don't) end up recording one way or another, please enjoy this time together. Soak it all up. That's the most important. 💖

You should totally Google to see if there are Christmas markets around your hometown. Nothing like strolling around, looking at all the little stalls with a some mulled wine or hot cocoa! |

My order arrived! It was in a huge box but filled with a lot of paper. I was like, omg, how bad was I?
Two 6x8 albums and the 4X6 WITL one from the sale day.
Mostly paper and embellishments and I love it all.
I had no idea it was coming since I was out of town and didn't track it.

Order arrived as we were headed to dinner. I took photos of the UPS man delivering it, he asked why I was recording him. 😂
Everything looks wonderful. I’m a little disappointed in the 4x6 album, the cover is bigger than I expected. Also the print paper pack is completely unusable. The paper is crazy thin and the colors are dull. Not sure it was worth the price even with the digitals.

Yeah, the pages are 4x6, but I would have also thought the album itself would be smaller. Thanks for the heads up. I hadnt bought it but was considering making an ornament album if I had time. I'll keep looking for a smaller album. |

Photo printing question. I want to use more "odd" size photos in my album this year. I almost order exclusively from Persnickety Prints. This year I would like to use 2x2 and specifically pictures outside the 6x8 page protectors. I believe most people print those to 6.25x8.25.
So, if you use those size photos, do you print them yourself? Is there someplace to order them in those sizes? If you print them at home what program are you using?

For years I used Persnickety prints. You need to have some sort of photo editing program to create an 8x10 or 8.5x11 document then place a cropped photo on that layer or create a clipping mask over an appropriately sized shape. I personally used Photoshop or Photoshop elements. I'm sure there are other ways to accomplish this. Interestingly I found 8.5x11 prints at Persnickety to be half the price of an 8x10. So I'd fill the empty space with 2x2 photos. This past year I purchased an Epson Ecotank printer and now do my printing at home. I used it for WITL, and oh my goodness what a game changer. It's been amazing. The process is the same, I create an 8.5x11 photo in photoshop, I have a box sized to 7x8.25, create a clipping mask on the photo and then print the 8.5x11. Lots of tutorials on how to do this if you need help. |

I just went down a rabbit hole on Ali's blog on printing photos and resizing in Photoshop. I need to work less and play more!
And I just checked and my box has shipped. Of course, I leave to go visit my parents Thursday thru Monday...

It’s thin but I wouldn’t say unusable. It’s not like notebook paper. I think it would be fine if backed with a picture or patterned paper.
