Photo printing question. I want to use more "odd" size photos in my album this year. I almost order exclusively from Persnickety Prints. This year I would like to use 2x2 and specifically pictures outside the 6x8 page protectors. I believe most people print those to 6.25x8.25. So, if you use those size photos, do you print them yourself? Is there someplace to order them in those sizes? If you print them at home what program are you using? Some one on here recommended a phone app called "Print to Size". I use this often - like for anything that is not 3x4, 4x6 or 5x7. It is easy, to me, to use on 8 1/2 x 11 photo paper. I can just add photos directly from my phone photo album and then adjust the sizes of photos using my finger (it shows the measurement as you increase/decrease) to maximize how many photos I can fit on the 8 1/2 x 11 photo paper.

That's such a shame about the papers, I was looking forward to those! Will they be ok backed on something do you think? I was trying to find some unboxing videos or posts but haven't been able to find any! I know lots of people are still waiting but thought enough US people might have got them to have some videos 😅 I'm sure the official FB group aren't approving anything like that but I'm nosey and like to watch these things before mine arrives! Mine is supposed to come tomorrow. I have never done an unboxing but I am willing to try and see how it goes . I bought a stupid amount of stuff, including the print paper pack. I will try it out and if it is decent, I will post to YouTube and share a link here. This sounds great, I'd love to see! My box is supposed to be arriving on Friday after being delayed from Weds but I enjoy watching unboxing even when I've got the stuff in front of me 🤣 Hearing people's different thoughts and ideas always interests me.

*whistling whistling* Still waiting on my box to ship. I’m out of town til Saturday so I hope it’s here by then. Mine hasn’t shipped yet either and it makes me very nervous. I'm the one who got the box last year that wasn’t mine and it was a huge mess sorting that out. They made it right and were very generous about it. But I'm still very nervous the longer it takes to ship.

No shipping here, either. I didn't order any stamps, if that theory is still being kicked around

My box has arrived in the Netherlands! I did not order stamps. I did a quick check and everything looks great, unfortunately that is all I have time for at the moment.

I still haven't got my shipping notice. I am almost always one of the last to ship, it always make me wonder how they decide. I am hoping it won't ship for another day because I too am gone over the weekend (but saying that will make it ship today).

No shipping here either. I have gotten 2 emails saying to expect delays in my order. This is me too. No shipping so far for my American package. I have received 2 emails explaining shipping delays due to order volume. My European package is due to arrive Thursday at my brother's address. It's crazy.

Everything in that unboxing looks so…. Big!
I’m so glad I’ve decided to go with the 10x8, although I still really struggle with it. I did it for 2022 and 2023… I do like that I don’t “have” to do two albums when I use them.
Speaking of 2023… my family doesn’t understand the feeling of complete awesomeness I felt last night as I hit submit on a Persnickety Prints order that will allow me to finish WITL 2024 (only one I’ve ever done and I had just a few things I wanted to redo and add…) DD2023 (same!), andddddddd catch up on my (FuzzyMutt version) of PL through August. I even ordered the photos and digital elements for my travel album for a 2 week/weekend trip I took in June.
I was 100% caught up to the point of “oh no.. so caught up but don’t want to stop the groove” til April. Then WITL wrecked my groove. I was sooooo proud of myself getting it sooooooooo close to done before Ali (to the point I was impatient with waiting for her hahaha!)… then I needed just a few more digitals printed, photos resized or digitally added to.. and I did that, and fell wayyyyy behind with bazillion other photos/journaling and prepping to print.
But I hit submit last night!!! When the order arrives, I can finish both projects AND be mostly caught up! Yay!!! My partner was like.. ok.. that’s nice. What about Prime Days.. do we need anything? Sheesh. Like I ordered a purse or something lol!
Also… since I still don’t have a ship notice from Ali, I’m really really hoping this photo order arrives first, so I am not distracted!!! Send mine last Ali!!

So, if you use those size photos, do you print them yourself? Is there someplace to order them in those sizes? If you print them at home what program are you using? Canva is very easy to use to resize photos. You can customize your canvas size. So if you want to get 4x6 photos printed, you could add 2x2 photos/frames to the 4x6 canvas. Or if you want a larger print, maybe do 8x10 then resize to the 6.25x8.25? Then you add your photos to the canvas and resize them that way. This works in the free version which is web based or the app. I use both and moreso the app lately. Just "download" the finished file as a jpeg and it will automatically save to your camera roll. Then can be uploaded to a printer or sent for professional printing.
I save different templates then duplicate the canvas to add photos that I want to customize. Ali also has a great Canva class that's beginner friendly too.

While the wait is on for shipping notices and packages, does anyone have any new techniques or things they want to try this year?
I have a few: *Use the foil quill I bought last year. I know there is a learning curve but it looks so cool. *I want to stamp on every page, even if it's something small like a phrase or a date. I have so many amazing Christmas stamps that do not get enough love. * Try one of the super layered, tiny interactive type pages that Rachel Hart makes. The are so fantastic.

I want to make foundation pages before December (nothing too complicated). I want to use AE digitals with my Cameo. I'd like to learn to sew.

Not sure if it is bc my foil is old? Anyway, I am super interested in the foil quill, but intimidated too! mom, janamke, where did you get your foil quills and is it one that connects to a silhouette or a stand alone?

....... andddddddd catch up on my (FuzzyMutt version) of PL through August. Yay for you! I have to ask -- whats your 'Fuzzy Mut' version of PL ? It's really not super exciting I never got into the Becky Higgins version, or even Ali's version. It would crush my soul to have a certain design PP, and use the same style, colorway, font cards throughout a whole year! Plus, I kinda morphed from 12x12 double spread scrapbook pages, to the Smashbooks and the handbooks (my first intro to pocket pages...) that came out around the same time. Then I started seeing December albums, and DD was taking shape, so I dedicated a whole album to December and really embraced the pocket pages. Even did a whole year of scrapbooking (less formal more along the lines of project life though, without the structure) in handbooks.. I think there were 5 of them. So then I went back to 12x12, but kept the pocket pages in addition to the 12x12 page protectors and did that a couple years.. then Studio Calico came out with the 9X12's and I was sold. 9x12, 3x4, 4x6... my favorites! Anyway, I'm super photo heavy. Don't really use much in the way of "filler" cards unless it's something that really speaks to me (I print some social media things that speak to me more than using a script based pretty card if that makes sense.) I don't do week/date cards, and I only dates on things that the date matters. I do follow (loosely) chronological order, but sort of let the event or season dictate the dates- if that makes sense. Also, I cannot do two pages that don't flow, and I definitely can't leave a blank back of a page. So, it isn't at all unusual for an "extra" photo of my dog in my house taken in September to find it's way to a pocket in November... Granted... I wouldn't take a photo from 2021 and do that... I don't know why lol Also, I do use different sizes, including the 9x12 and 6x12 for full page photos, and, if it's a 9x12 photo of my dog at the pumpkin patch taken in September, I have no problem holding on to it til October. I don't have an issue putting stickers/elements directly on top of alot of 3x4 or 4x6 photos (and often I slide a second unaltered one behind it) but I usually embellish on the exterior of the page protector on the bigger photos. I've gotten very "flat" over the years... and it's not super obvious but I figure IF someone wants that photo some day, they may not like having a cardstock sticker on it that says LOVELY! Anyway.. that's kind of it. I'm always interested to see how different people do things differently.

I got a shipping notice, this is the earliest I have ever gotten one in recent years. I am excited! I did order 2 stamp sets numbers and word phrase set.
I am excited to try the Minc machine I bought and I also ordered Nuvo paste and Cosmic shimmer paste to try out. I love what Nolana has shown with the paste pages she has on Instagram.

My box came! I have not opened the kits up, but everything else looks good so far. The main kit paper is a really nice quality - yay! The vellum pieces are even bigger than I thought, but I am excited about that. The chipboard phrases are also bigger than expected. The prompt paper pack is thin as mentioned in a previous post and the quality of the printing is inconsistent. So, makes sense it was on sale and I am planning to use digital for some of them for sure. Albums looks good so far - the red with gold stars is vibrant

I'm not in a huge hurry, but I did clear out one of my Michaels's carts to make room for the new stuff. I love hearing the techniques everyone is listing. I was new to embossing last year, will try to get better at it this year.
