Good morning.
I have Covid and it knocked me on my tuchus. So, I'll be spending the day in bed or laying down in the family room. The doctor prescribed Paxlovid and I hope it works well. I'll be spending my week at home, avoiding the rest of civilization.
Dinner is rechauffe pork chops.
What's on your menu?
How is everyone doing today? What's on your agenda?
lucyg, if you're up to please let us know how you're feeling?
**GypsyGirl**, how is your dh today? How are you and your dd doing?
sueg, how was your day today? I'm sending you all of the easy surgery and healing thoughts for tmw.
May today be healing, calm and filled w/smiles for all.

scrapmaven Oh no! I'm so sorry to hear that and hope you recover quickly. It's already been a hectic morning for me. I had to take my mom early for some blood work and they couldn't find her appointment but were able to get her in. She's a brittle diabetic and was having a low blood sugar and this was fasting blood work so they got her in and out really quickly so she could have some juice. She's also currently on oxygen all of the time and we're hoping to find out why it's so low. Normally, she sleeps with it and then is ok during the day but she's struggling to stay above 90 even on the o2 so she's going in for a chest xray and dr appointment today. It's really scary and she's looking very frail. I've got a fairly busy day at work for a change. My co-worker is heading off on PTO so he just dumped a bunch of stuff on me. I didn't sleep well and I'm dragging this morning even though it's been busy. Tonight will be spaghetti and I'll probably take some over to my parents as well so they don't have to cook. Hope you all have a great day!

Oh no, scrapmaven , I'm so sorry Covid has knocked you out. Praying for a short, easy bout for you. I'm running errands this morning which I know will shock jeremysgirl . Today will be very hot so dinner will be Chinese Chicken Salad. The pool at our sport's club was awesome last night. I literally had the pool to myself for 30 minutes while I did my exercises. After DH did his laps we both read for about half an hour. Pure bliss. Hugs to all, especially those facing medical issues & people in the path of the hurricane.

Hi all, Today was final preservation day. I had to stop taking some of my medications last night and today I had a nail salon appointment. I usually have brightly colored acrylic nails, so I had to have them fixed. My lady was really good - she has cut them really short and filed off the acrylic layer. It feels so weird to have them so short and thin. More than my hair, my nails will be the first thing I get fixed when this is over. My bags are as packed as they can be at this stage - I’ll just need to pop toiletries in after my shower in the morning . Dinner tonight is BBQ ribs and corn - I need a decent feed before a week of hospital food. **GypsyGirl** - I was sorry to hear your DH had a set back. Hopefully he will start to improve quickly. scrapmaven - bummed that you have Covid. I did a test this morning, as I had a scratchy throat and a cough, but fortunately it was negative.

Hopefully it won't be as terrible as last time. I swear Jeremy and I are the last people we know who haven't had it. Knocks wood. I don't have a clue how we've managed to avoid it. But I'm sure it would kick my ass too. I had a stupid meeting this morning. My coworker was unprepared. And I have another staff meeting with her this afternoon. Tries my damn patience. I'm going to sit and crochet for a bit over lunch. I don't need lunch because I've had a bunch of cookies. Ugh. I'm going to make that pasta with tomatoes and zucchini tonight. I just had a sandwich last night.

I hope your bout of Covid is short lived scrapmaven! I was supposed to view and apartment with my girlfriend this morning but they just called to say that they rented it to someone else. So we are going to Denny's for breakfast! They are shutting the water off in my condo building today so any time I spend away is good ... Dinner is still to be determined ... My dd's spent two weeks at Christina Lake, British Columbia ... got back a couple of days ago ... I managed to get one measly photo from them! That is the vacation I took for many many years ... the big joke is that my ex takes his BC vacation the same as he always has - just with a different wife! (Seriously, nothing else is different!).

scrapmaven: So sorry to hear you have the crud. Hoping it’s a mild case and you’re back to yourself soon. I’m babysitting grandboy #3 while his brothers are at soccer camp today. And of course it’s pouring rain so no outdoor activities for us. Tomorrow I have to take my mom to get her shot in the eye and then to a hair appt in the afternoon. Then I’ll be packing and preparing for our short trip up north for 2 nights. Not sure about supper yet.

This is kind of funny. Seriously, you'd think he could find a new "special place" for him and his new wife.

Thank you ladies. Tearisci , you are such a good caretaker for your mom and I'm sorry that she's having such struggles with her o2. sueg , enjoy every bite of your dinner. Try and sleep well tonight. ((((HUGS)))). cadoodlebug , your pool time sounds so enjoyable. Woohoo. jeremysgirl , your coworker always meets expecations. They're super low and laughable, but at least she's predictable. UGH!
leannec, one would think that the new wife would not appreciate taking the same vacation as the first wife, each year.
That's a lovely photo of your dd's.

scrapmaven oh no! I hope it doesn't hit you too hard. **GypsyGirl** I went back and read your update from yesterday. That has got to be so frustrating. Tearisci I hope they figure out what the issue is with your mom. I am finally feeling better. I slept 11 hours last night. I need to run some errands after work. I usually don't mind going to Target but the college students are starting to come back so I know it will be a zoo. DH and I decided we are going to make up our anniversary dinner tonight.

Happy Tuesday! It's going to be another triple digit day (before humidity!) but I was able to sit out with the dog a bit in the morning shade. Nice to just sit for a bit with nothing to do. Absolutely no clue what dinner will be. Something out of the fridge I'm sure. Thinking and praying for those who need it - either for themselves or family members. **GypsyGirl**, how is your dh today? How are you and your dd doing? DH is hanging in there still. I'm hoping to find him in good spirits when I go up in an hour or so. Today is our 47th anniversary (I was a child bride )! He feels badly that he's still in hospital, but as I pointed out at least we are in the same country this year! There have been a few where he was halfway around the world and a phone call was all we got. Always look for the silver lining is my motto in life! DD is doing well. This week she is making an effort to prioritize her evening workout classes (with our blessings!), rather than spend all evening with DH. Work is also busy for her right now which keeps her mind occupied I'm sure. Thanks for checking in! I hope you are feeling better soon.

Happy Tuesday dinner friends! scrapmaven- I'm so sorry to hear that you have COVID- I hope it is short lived and mild. sueg sending prayers and thoughts for you, I hope DH will be able to give us an update on how you're doing, leannec Your daughters are beautiful. too funny on the ex's vacation situation. My ex was similar, I moved out, she moved in and he went on about his life with the replacement. **GypsyGirl** Happy Anniversary and healing prayers to your dh. I have my 9 yr old grandson today, he's an only child, very headstrong and pesty. I love him dearly, but he wears me out! We were supposed to go to dinner with my brother in law and his wife, but they cancelled after her dr's apt today, so I'll make an early dinner of pulled pork and a couple of sides, I'll feed my son when he picks up the kiddo. There is some police activity in the front/older part of our neighborhood, who knows what's going on today. This neighborhood is desireable as it's close in to town, but sometimes it's a little too urban. Have a great day everyone!

Happy Anniversary **GypsyGirl**! Hopefully a trip to Hawaii is in the not too distant future! leannec I thought your friend found an apartment a while back. I guess it fell through. Great photo of your DDs. I think it isn't weird about your xDH going to the same place since your divorce was amicable and your DDs were used to going there too. Tearisci sorry about your mom. DH reminded me of a *small world* thing with my friend who passed away yesterday. When DH was growing up in the 50s & 60s, his next door neighbors were the grandparents of friend's DH.

prayers and hugs for all those sick!!
I think when I am back in bay area.. I will be a hermit.. too many covid cases!!!
yesterday at the store I decided I should go shopping without dh.. would be easier!! he was checking if they had salmon cakes, never told me one way or another, so I forgot to get the alternative chicken. so came home with no dinner in the bag. we ended up with guacamole and crackers, a salad, and eggs, sausages and bread.
so today we are going to the natural foods store.. the farmer shows up in the afternoon with goods from various local farms. and back to the regular store. maybe chicken, with salad for dinner. there was a big thunder and lightning storm all through dinner into the evening. heard there were several small fires started locally. but the fires put out.
went swimming this morning.. had the pool to myself.. was a bit cooler out. dh went out with doggie in his new doggie backpack.. the dog sits vertical with his head and paws out..on dh's back.

leannec, one would think that the new wife would not appreciate taking the same vacation as the first wife, each year. That's what I think but she doesn't mind at all! Literally, same condo, same bed, same boat, same people out there, same trips to the USA town for groceries ... she probably wears my lifejacket!

Dd1 says exdh is only with clones of me. Probably why my current dh says he’d go for exdh’s 2nd wife if he were single. She’s also an ex now too. We both love her. So does dd1. It’s my last night in Venice. Glad to be going home tomorrow but was so pleasantly surprised by it. I will not miss the 5th floor walk up Airbnb we have. 6 to our rooftop patio. Boo scrapmaven. Covid is a pita. I hope we don’t get it traveling back.

dh went out with doggie in his new doggie backpack.. the dog sits vertical with his head and paws out..on dh's back. For some reason I've always pictured your dog as medium to large (not sure why because I don't recall you identifying it by breed), so having a difficult time with this visual. Ugh, scrapmaven. You and Linda getting Covid are making me nervous about going out maskless. I've been wearing one up to this week, but thinking it was okay to let it go now. Maybe not yet. Glad you are getting a belated celebration dinner tonight, stormsts, and sorry your anniversary celebration will be delayed, **GypsyGirl**. Will be thinking about you and sending all the positive vibes your way over the next few days, sueg. I can't make up my mind whether to go for a pedicure or not. I'd planned to go early this morning but my sister was visiting with dad, so we all ended up chatting for an hour. I haven't had one since starting chemo and really NEED one badly. Dinner is going to be BLTs or BLATs on sourdough with fresh picked tomatoes. I'm tempted to have one for lunch, too.

I’m good! Posting before reading the thread because I always seem to get distracted. Currently sitting in chemo hell (honestly, it’s fine) waiting to finish up so I can go home and order pizza. Anyway, I’ve been feeling fine, just been busy the past few days. I guess I tire easily, too. WHATEVER. So sorry you have COVID, scrapmaven. My sister just came home from Canada with it, too. Off to read the rest of the thread.

NOPE! I would never be someone's replacement wife!
lucyg , please order your absolute favorite pizza and savor every bite. After chemo you deserve to have whatever you want for dinner. ((((HUGS))). teddyw , have a safe and easy flight home. I'm hoping that you'll share pictures and stories w/us. stormsts , Enjoy your delicious and celebratory dinner tonight. bc2ca , do wear you mask everywhere. My doctor told me that she's seeing tons of COVID. I blame myself for not wearing my mask more often.
**GypsyGirl**, your dh will recover from this, but it can't happen soon enough.

I’m on my phone so it’s difficult to list everyone I’m thinking and sending prayers off to. I hope all of the illness and stress you all are dealing with lightens quickly and laughter fills your hearts. I’ve just driven through a flooding storm along with tornado warnings while returning from a few days at my mom’s house. I got home to flooded roads, branches down and flower pots blown over. I’ll wait til all of the storms pass through before I begin cleaning up.
I have lots of leftovers from my granddaughter’s baptism celebration so dinner will be a smorgasbord of picnic food heavy on desserts. I’m not complaining!
