She was gorgeous on her wedding day. That dress was a perfect fit for her.
And good for her for having the wedding she wanted with shoulders and skin showing.
Her husband is quite the catch.

She looks lovely. The article said she plans to move to Nebraska, where he is from. I hope she lives a normal life with her husband and distances herself from the family cult.

Beautiful dress. Still with the cult. Sad

She looked beautiful.
But, I can't get over the fact that they got engaged in June and married in August, with 500 guests! I don't think I could pull together a wedding that fast!

I hope she will be very happy. I saw that she had moved into her own tiny home on her parents' property, I believe, and I was at least glad that she had her own space for awhile. I hope the move to Nebraska will be a good one for her as well. And I agree that her dress was gorgeous.

Her dress looks identical to my DD’s wedding dress! I’ll try to post a photo later. 😊

Happy for her and glad she waited and while she probably felt rushed to marry since she’s been 18, good for her to doing it her own way!
Her dress is beautiful! She’s always had a nice, classic style and this dress is it for her.

Is he a religious kook, too?

Is he a religious kook, too? From the article, I get the impression he is of a similar religion that she is, or at least his family is. The family traveled around singing, per the article. Which is how the families met in the first place. And he comes from a big family too, 13 children.

Is he a religious kook, too? He comes from a family of 13 kids, and the article said that they met through their families years ago. One of her brothers had already married one of his sisters, so my guess would be yes. 🤪 I do hope she’s happy though. It probably hasn’t been an easy life for her being pressured to find someone while so many of her younger siblings have already gotten hitched. Her family is whack.

It's not uncommon, I think, that in families like this, they keep the oldest daughter unmarried so she can help with the younger kids while they are growing up and then take care of the parents when they age, so I'm just happy for her that she is not going to be in that position.

Jill wasn't a bridesmaid.
How they managed to get 500 guests to come on a Thursday is amazing.

I read something that said wouldn't be that hard seeing most of those who would have been invited follow the same beliefs and homeschool their kids. And almost 20% were made of of just the immediate Duggar family anyway

I'm very happy for her. There was so much speculation about her when she was the oldest sister not married and I was like, it's perfectly normal for someone to not get married until their 30's. She probably was forced to stay home and take care of the younger siblings and now that they're all mostly grown, she's free to leave. I hope she will be able to break those chains and be her own person.

I was underwhelmed by the article I read. Maybe she's not as articulate as I would expect, but it didn't come across as a deep and abiding love. More like, he stuck by her, she appreciated him, and she probably wasn't going to find anyone she liked more. Just my opinion, of course.

More like, he stuck by her, she appreciated him, and she probably wasn't going to find anyone she liked more. Just my opinion, of course. I read the article and thought that they have a marriage based on friendship and took time to actually get to know each other, they even split for a while… I suppose I see it more as a calm, constant mature version of a marriage rather than some of the other siblings that I saw via the show which is all I have to base my opinion on (especially in their world!), where it’s all fast and passionate and potentially fleeting just to get away from the house and on their own… like a literal “I’ll take anything just to escape this crazy” (especially the girls). The girls who married “outsiders” had to have very strong and patient and committed husbands to put up with all the bs just to get them out of there and away from the cult and mind control. But I get what you are saying, there weren’t any flowery compliments or love heart eyes 😁 Maybe she dithered so long so even if she has a child a year she’ll only get to about 7??

Jill wasn't a bridesmaid. How they managed to get 500 guests to come on a Thursday is amazing. Probably 90% of them were family members 🤣 I mean, I have a big family, but not THIS big. If I include all my aunts and uncles and cousins, their families, and my friends, I'd easily have half that number. And lots of those Duggar quiverfull type families live close to each other and work together, which would make it easier to attend on a Thursday night. Probably no hangover to worry about for Friday morning, I'm sure it was a dry reception. That would definitely NOT work for my family for sure. Irish Catholic...🍻🍺🥂🍾🍷
