So, sizzix is doing a ‘hinged stamp press’ as part of a stamp $ stencil tool. I wonder if it’s different enough to escape cranky petunias patent lawyer ex? Anyone know anything? youtu.be/lS5PaXSF6mg

It's been available or about a year I think. Simon H did a review a few months ago.
I have read other reviews and they aren't great. You have to stamp multiple times.
I have the TH system and while it gives me grief in a few areas, I don't want to buy the wheel one by Alt New.

I've put a piece of paper on a cutting mat and used my stencils. It's basically the same as their sticky mat. Especially if it's a used mat and not an ultra sticky new one.
I do see how it's more secure with the hinge thing, but it's if you use THEIR stencils with the holes at the top. I have a Tim Holtz platform. I like it enough not to get a different one.

I have it and do not like it for stamping (my stamps didn't seem to stick well to to the lid, I don't know if that was user error or the stamp or the tool), so I use it mainly for stenciling, and it works well. I still use my Misti with a Waffle Flower grip mat inside to stamp and it works great, so much better than messing with the magnets.

the bar is set high for what products i'm willing to buy these days. it's not like the early days and hey-day of scrapbooking when i bought anything and everything because everything seems new and interesting. having said that, it is a no for me on this product.
