Before and after of master bedroom. There wasn’t much done in here besides paint and flooring. I did change bedding and curtains, and we got rid of the big black armoire, and hung the tv on the wall.

Renovations were interesting to say the least. Thankfully, nothing bad happened, just really frustrating and stressful…
It started with us going out of town the day before demolition day. We found out while we were gone that the shower faucet handles we bought were not the right ones. We also needed to buy a new valve to make the handles work. After dealing with that, we thought things were all good.
We were told that we would have time once we returned from our trip to finish packing up things that would be in their way. Then, we found out that they needed it all packed up the day we returned. So, we had to go straight to the house, after grabbing lunch, to and crammed as much as we could wherever we could cram it, then we went and stayed the night in a hotel just down the street.
That Monday, I had to drive out to the air bnb to check in and get settled, while my DH went to pick up one of our pups at the vet from boarding. We left the other there for another night because we had things we couldn’t do with him at the house. I drove an hour back to the vet on Tuesday to pick him up. We stayed at that house for two weeks.
During this time, we found out that we actually needed new water pressure handles, but they also needed the original handles we purchased for the water temperature. it took us hours to find the exact ones I wanted at a local place. We instead had to order them, but they were ready in time for them to install them. Because of the additional handles, they needed to cut holes in our master bedroom wall, and the laundry room in order to do something with the shower faucets/valves through the wall. They did a great job of repairing the walls.
We finally moved back in at the end of September, but they still were not finished. They still had shower glass and some backsplash to finish, so we had to board the younger pup for a couple more days while they finished the majority of the projects that were left. Unfortunately, there were several things that needed to be touched up, and that took several different groups of people over the next couple of weeks. It was very stressful because the dogs were home, and the younger one does NOT like strangers in his house, so they were very loud. It took another two weeks to get the customer kitchen island, and another week to get our bathroom mirrors. The good thing is, we left the one up in the guest bath until we got the new one, but we had to both get ready in there.
Anyway, all is finished, and we love it! It has taken a while to finally enjoy it due to so much going on.
Sorry for the word vomit. LOL

Yes, the island is custom. I got the idea for what I wanted from a piece at Home Depot, but I wanted something better made. The lady I chose to build it did an incredible job. When we move from this house, that thing is going with us. 😁

Last before and after pics. This is a direct shot of the master bath/shower. Ignore the curtain over the tub. I don’t like it, and have new curtains that will go up this weekend.

Beautiful! Thanks for sharing.
I especially love the bathroom floors, but really like all your tile choices and the lighter counter tops. Does the island have a drop leaf? It look gorgeous.

We've been in and out of construction since we moved in late 2021. We moved from a home we'd lived in for 33 years. It was all renovated. It just didn't have the space and nice trees. We went from 2 trees to 200.
We haven't had to move out, but going without a kitchen for 2 months was a little rough.

Thank you! It does! We absolutely love that feature. We keep it down 99% of the time, but had it up for a party on Black Friday. It added a bit more room for food plates. It was perfect!

Our renovations weren’t terrible in the grand scheme of things, but I’d rather not do it again. We've done months long renovations several times recently. This is the last longer one what we'll do for a while. Thankfully we still have two bathrooms that work well. Our main bathroom COULD be remodeled, but the other ones were screaming 1990's. Had they been lighter colors, I wouldn't have been so plussed to get rid of them. That heavy brown tile is a lot. One of the bathrooms has (had) 7 different tiles in it.

Did you install those bright, tiny, colorful tiles somewhere ? I remember being in love with them when you posted before.

Did you install those bright, tiny, colorful tiles somewhere ? I remember being in love with them when you posted before. Ah, yes! These are a slight bit blurry, but those tiles are in the soap niche in both bathrooms. The first pic is the guest, and the second is the master bath. If I had to rate my favorite items from everything we chose, the top five are 1. the island 2. the tiny tiles (someone that came over called them jelly bean tiles. 😁 3. bathroom/laundry room floor tiles/wood flooring throughout the house (no more transition pieces everywhere. There’s now just 4!) 4. kitchen countertops 5. bathroom countertops I also love how all of the faucets are from three different companies, but turned out, they are all a pretty close match!
