This challenge is for those who scrap slowly and need encouragement to keep scrapping all month or those who want a little encouragement to continue scrapping. It is great for those new to Challenges and is a fun place to come chat with other Pokey scrappers. 1. Post a layout each week, or four layouts per month. These can be posted in the thread or in the gallery. If you post in the gallery, be sure to come to the thread and tell us you posted and tell us the name of the layout so we can find it. You can copy the URL from the gallery and paste it directly into your thread for a link. 2. This challenge can be combined with any other challenges and can be paper, digital or hybrid scrapping. These can be cards, layouts or altered items or any other creative projects. 3. Please comment on the work of others on the thread as your time allows. We all love comments on our layouts. 4. Have fun with this! This should be a "no pressure" challenge. Just post what you finish whether it is one layout or more than four. Come chat with the group as time permits. We love to welcome new members. If you are on a Team, complete the 4 challenges and post them on this thread for an extra 4 points

Welcome to September. Around here the temperatures are dropping a tiny bit, and it does feel like Fall is close behind. We have a tree near our home that is the first to turn in the Fall and it is bright yellow already. The others won't be far behind. beachy, your grands are so cute and those photos are wonderful. I look forward to seeing how you scrap them. Going back to school after 30 years sounds daunting to me. I wish you the best and hope you enjoy your classes. Are they on a campus or virtual? grammadee, your garden always makes me hungry. You are just starting to get corn and ours here is just about at the end. We should be able to get another dozen ears next Sat. but that's about it. It usually comes on the 2nd week in July. It has been so good this year. I finished 3 pages last night and scanned them but didn't get them posted. I will try to do that tomorrow or Monday. Have a wonderful scrappy month, everyone!

Gulp, that summer was the fastest ever. I made a card for DS yesterday: did some photoshop work to create a circular viking rune and write "happy birthday jacob" ciruclarly around it in runic language (thanks dafont!) This is a quick pic of it (haven't done his "party" yet because DD and I were out at the theatre. Bad Mom.) along with the mug I brought home from Wales. Saw a lot of sheep in Wales, and had to educate everyone that those are NOT beanies, they are TOQUES. The Aussies on the bus were most appreciative of the new term. Untitled by kirstendrew, on Flickr The show yesterday was so good I was crying with joy. I mean, so so good. The tickets were broadway level price, because this is quite an elite festival/company. It was a "student matinee" however, so DD's ticket was 90% cheaper and that's why we had to go on DS's birthday!!! I'd have taken him too, but he's not a theatre nerd like Katie and me. It was 4 hours of driving, and worth every minute. One of those experiences that will give me permanent joy.

Happy September!! My favorite time of year is here! kitbop that card is so cool, and the mug is so cute lol. I'm so glad you and DD had a wonderful time! grammadee if the morning works best for you then I'll start a morning crop, because we rarely get to see your face on Friday! Today is laundry, and picking up a few groceries. Not exactly sure what else yet. I've really slept in the past couple of days which is not like me, it feels like sleeping until noon lol. I'll open a crop at 11AM EST time tomorrow for anyone that can or wants to join in, I don't have an end time in mind, so I'm game to go as long as possible. Pop in and out as you can, I need the incentive to keep my butt in my chair and actually finish something lol.

kitbop -I'm so very glad you and DD had such a great time! What a treat! Love that card with the runes - very fun! And what a cute wee Welsh sheep on your mug joyfulnana - 11am works for me also - I'll add to the calendar and make sure I clean up my desk after Friday's scrapping before hand - you guys are rubbing off on me and I've been slacking off on cleaning as I go.

That card is AMAZING, kitbop! Glad you got to educate some people about what to call that head gear, but when I saw the mug with the card I was thinking the sheep was wearing a Viking helmet LOL. Glad you and dd had a great time at the show. I am sure the birthday boy will understand.
Thanks, joyfulnana . I will plan to get some scrapping done tomorrow morning. With dh in the house all the time it drags my attention away from my scraproom, but tomorrow morning I will shut the door and play with you.

awwww such little cuties @homeshoolmum. I love that paper with these photos. Welp. I did it. I brought home a new cat today lol. She's 5 years old, a gray brown tabby and her name is Bess. I'm pretty sure that's always been her name, so I'll leave that her name, I've called her Abby a couple times LOL. I went to meet a different cat, and to look around, but she really wanted out of her cage when she saw me, and immediately started rubbing on me, so I'm guessing she picked me, and so I picked her too lol. I think she's liking it here .

Most of the program is all online, which is good because I live an hour and a half from the college. It is daunting, I’m very nervous! But since my DD and family moved away I’ve felt a bit aimless. I haven’t had a job outside the home in 12 years and my last job was in a busy doctor’s office and I didn’t want to do that again. So I thought I’d try something new. Temps are getting cooler here too the last couple of days. This morning it was 8C and I’ve seen a few trees around with some orange starting. Corn is starting to finish up here too but we had some last night that was so good. Soon it will be apple picking time.

Thanks for hosting the crop, joyfulnana. It was great to hang out with the Pokeys. I was proud of myself for finishing three pages until I came here and found all the pages YOU put together today, Linda! Actually I finished a fourth page this evening (to go with my lake page I did while on line). Will photograph and post in the morning.

joyfulnana , your new family member, Bess, is beautiful. I'm glad she chose you. I know she will bring you lots of love and happiness. Sorry I missed the crop this morning. Linda , you have really been scrapping. Such cute photos of your kitties and I love the black, gray and white page and the yellow and blue. They really make your kitties take center stage. Great job scrapping the TS and the use of your photos of the meandering stream and as a raging river. Cute page for kitbop 's challenge. The cat paper for your photo of A is perfect. Very pretty page. Your deer photos reminded me that we had deer in the back yard last week. I was in the car before I saw them and knew I'd scare them if I tried to get out to take a photo. You have a wonderful start for the first 2 days of Sketchtember! grammadee , I must be out to lunch. I was thinking that Sept was part of Q3. I thought I had another month to try to add up my few points. I will try to do it tomorrow. I am having a hard time concentrating on scrapping. kitbop, that card is amazing. Who know Dafont had Rune font! beachy, you will be busy with classes. I'm glad they are virtual and you aren't trying to get to campus each day. Best wishes as you work through them. Yesterday after church we went out to Tori's to meet baby Myles. We had him pretty much to ourselves until all the rest of her family arrived and wanted turns. LOL. We left there and went to DH's cousin's home for a barbecue. By the end of the day I could hardly lift my arm at all. Driving is really hard on it, especially right turns, and turning around, backing up, etc. I will be glad to get this surgery behind me and try to get some PT to be able to use my dominant hand and arm again.

Good morning Pokies! nylene - thank you. I had a fun afternoon scrapping with the Pokies! I'm glad you got to see deer also but sorry for the lack of photo op - I've been fortunate to spot our from the window behind my computer so that makes picture taking a bit easier. I bet those baby snuggles were such a treat! I'm sorry that all the driving overdid things for your arm. I Hope that the surgery and subsequent PT goes so much smoother this time and you're back to full function and zero pain very soon. I'll keep praying for you. I'm working on neglected housework again...scrapping is just much more fun, lol. I also need to re-pot the miniature roses DH bought me for my birthday. And there's a zoning board meeting tonight at 530 (rescheduled from the one last Thursday when they vastly underestimated how many people would show up) - this time they're using the school board auditorium which is much bigger than the meeting room they had on Thursday. Hoping to get sneak some scrapping in also.

Hey Pokeys! Don't feel bad about your Q-3 confusion, nylene. I have been warned by the accountants that Third quarter does not end until the end of September and fourth quarter doesn't start til October 1st. But last year we extended Q-4 through September to make for better record keeping for SKETCHtember. We didn't even have a Q-3 last year, but I threw a short one in this year to keep the creativity flowing. As my dh--and many of my former co-workers know--when I have an idea, SOMETHING will change... How was the board meeting last night, Linda. I hope things worked out in your favour. How is class going, justjac. I have heard nothing about how the dgk's are doing since back-to-school pic's yesterday. I hope you and Bess are continuing to bond, joyfulnana. I am so glad she makes you happy. It was good to hang out with a few Pokeys on Monday. That, and the daily sketches, really got me back into thinking about scrapbooking on a daily basis. Just need to find stuff to keep dh busy while I am crafting and he is still in the house most of the day.

grammadee, I'm glad you are in a scrapping mode. How soon is your DH's surgery? I finally sat down and figured my points. Not very many, but more than I thought. The scrapping time and scrapping with others gave me most of them.I have let AussieMeg know. Linda, baby snuggles are so nice. Em called yesterday and we went over to enjoy Millie for a while longer before they return home. How was the zoning board meeting? Neglected housework is often the case around here when I get going full blast on scrapping. I was born to crop, not to mop. LOL joyfulnana, I am eager to meet Bess! I'm so glad you have claimed each other.

How was the board meeting last night, Linda. I hope things worked out in your favour. The meeting lasted just over 4 hours - wow! The board voted 3-2 not to reccommend the zoning change. It's just an advisory board so the County Commission will have it on their agenda in 3 weeks...Pretty sure my commissioner isn't in favour - talked to him briefly last night. As my dh--and many of my former co-workers know--when I have an idea, SOMETHING will change... lol Just need to find stuff to keep dh busy while I am crafting and he is still in the house most of the day. I hope your dh is recovering well and will be able to be more active - and less underfoot - soon. baby snuggles are so nice. Em called yesterday and we went over to enjoy Millie for a while longer before they return home. How was the zoning board meeting? Neglected housework is often the case around here when I get going full blast on scrapping. I was born to crop, not to mop. LOL awww - glad you got some more snuggles. I miss being around babies. And I'm definitely not the world's best housekeeper - there are so many more interesting things to do. I am eager to meet Bess! I'm so glad you have claimed each other. Bess visited on Monday's crop - she's so beautiful! Busy day here today with an 8am dr appt and 5pm PT - especially since I didn't sleep well last night. I think it'll be an early night for me. Tomorrow is quiet though so hopefully can get some scrapping done as well as finish re-organising my closet/dresser. I need to pull out my suitcase and see if it'll work for this upcoming trip or if I need to get one that will.
