Thanks for setting up the crop, kitbop. It was great visiting with you, if only for awhile. One of these times we will have to get Dusty and Bess and KatieNotKatie all at the same time. Would love a screen shot of that! I will check into the Sharing thread later to look at your pages, Linda. Glad you are having fun with the sketches. Dd and dgs will be here in a bit to help do some cleaning in the basement that has to happen before the handy man comes to put in the railing. She plans to be home before supper, which is a good thing as I am on full fluids today (colonoscopy prep) and don't feel like cooking solid food for others. Speaking of surgery prep, I am thinking of you this week, nylene. Here's to a successful surgery and smooth healing process. I agree with you about ice. I much prefer heat when I am in pain. About 30 years ago, when one of my ds's had a hockey injury, I was told that the best way to heal was alternating cold and heat. One reduces swelling and the other promotes circulation. It worked for him, so I accepted it as gospel and have used it ever since for myself. But while I have had a broken arm, I have never had joint surgery. This morning I cobbled together my sample for next Sunday. So hoping that will take the pressure off and get my creative juices flowing this next week to take on some of others' sketches I have yet to attempt. I actually have two LO kits put together with sketches, papers and photos, so that will give me a bit of a start, too.

grammadee - Dusty joined me when I scrapped on Friday night but last night he and PadBear were playing in the garage Good luck with the prep - I don't blame you for not wanting to cook food you can't eat. nylene - you're in my thoughts and prayers this week as well. Gentle (((Hugs))) my friend. I'm hoping to scrap again this evening but now I need to get some projects done around the house

It was good to see you guys! I am getting closed to finished with my last sample page and I'm so ready to jump into the other sketches, I'm inspired by those, not my own sketch so much lol. I chose a different sketch yesterday. nylene I'll be keeping you in my thoughts and hoping for a smooth surgery and smooth recovery too! I'm learning that Bess is raring to go in the morning and likes to play first thing. When I just want a little peace and some coffee. It did get me thinking about the way young kids wake up excited and ready to go too. So where does that go as we get older? I would take some of that LOL.

Thanks everyone for the thoughts and prayers. I appreciate it. I am doing a dozen last minute things that we didn't think of earlier. Then I think we will be ready. Linda, I can't believe how much you accomplish in just a couple of hours! Love your layouts. Love the torn edges, the pretty florals and the dark background paper on the kitties page. They all look wonderful. The last one is my favorite because I can see your cute girls and see how much they look like you. Thanks for posting them here too. grammadee, I hope the colo.prep goes well as well as the procedure. Will this slow our Energizer Bunny for a day or two? Take care! kitbop, thanks for hosting the crop. I finished a page start to finish without having anything in mind before I got online. That's a first for me. I usually try to have the ideas and many of the papers, etc. ready so I can work as I chat. It came together so easily, I need to do that again. It was fun seeing everyone and chatting. You guys are the best! Faces of Millie I tried scanning this but it was so pastel that it didn't show up. I just stuck it against my cameo and snapped a photo to see if it would photograph that pale. I planned to put it somewhere with a better background if it photographed well, but life got in the way and I decided to post as is.

So where does that go as we get older? I would take some of that LOL. I think all of the responsibilities each day brings might be what saps that away from adults nylene - I love your pretty baby page - she's adorable and all the sweet baby embellishments are perfect! Continuing to pray for you this week. AussieMeg - Happy Belated Birthday! I'm feeling yesterday's yard work today - especially moving the concrete edgers - they are only about 12 lbs but I think I probably should have used TWO hands to carry them not one because my left arm and shoulder blade aren't super happy today. Today has more house and yard work scheduled and I need to check on our hurricane kit as we might be getting another storm late this week - it's not even a tropical depression yet but the prediction is for a hurricane and we're in the potential impact path.

oh no, Linda. Stay safe. Will dh still be able to make the trip to pick up dd if a storm is coming through? When do you plan to leave for your trip? Speaking of trips, gramma: thinking you might be lounging around on the deck of a cruise ship about now? They say kids keep us young, joyfulnana, but I'm not sure about that. Still trying to figure out if there is a way to bottle their excess energy: think what a market there would be for that! Speaking of bottles, I am on a liquid diet today, but I think I will still to coffee, tea, and juice LOL. Happy belated birthday AussieMeg! Hope your day was wonderful.

grammadee - is tomorrow your test? good luck with the liquid diet Yes - DH will still drive up even if there's a storm - he would be driving away from it so...We fly out on the 5th and back on the 18th but will stay overnight near the airport and drive home on the 19th (it's about a 3hr drive and our flight arrives in the evening) gramma - enjoy the cruise!

gramma, I hope you have a wonderful cruise. Linda, I hope the hurricane breaks apart and just becomes a storm. Stay safe! I hope your shoulders feel better tomorrow, but sounds like you have lots to do today too. Be careful. I wanted to finish this last layout and have my table free and clean. This is for Sketchtember 14. Can't believe Swayzee is this old. Off To Kindergarten

Happy Monday! Hoping you all had a nice weekend. We went to the museum to see fashion designer Yves Saint Laurent's exhibit and it was fantastic. I had been wanting to see it and glad we were able to go. I took lots of pictures and plan to use them for a video and maybe a scrapbook page. AussieMeg - Happy Birthday my friend!!! I Hope you had a fantastic day! Flowers by Kelly Roberts, on Flickr joyfulnana - Ron is an Eagles fan and we both like the Rams. I also like the Chiefs and any other team that has exciting players. Congrats on the Chiefs' win last night. Glad to see you and Bess getting more acquainted. I saw this cat gif on my phone and it was so funny. The cat was standing upright and doing some disco moves like John Travolta! LOL! If I can figure out how to post it here, I will share.

Can't believe Swayzee is this old. Noooo... That big bow baby can NOT be going to school already! I left love for your sweet page on Flickr.
I really need to try and get to another crop one day. I get a bad case of FOMO whenever I read about them! My World Clock says that until all our times change that a 7:00PM ET Friday crop would be 9:00AM Saturday morning where you are. I can never remember if the time difference gets greater or less when you go forward and we go back. And I can't even remember when OUR time change is, let alone when yours happens LOL.

Thanks nylene - hard to believe Swayzee is in Kindergarten already - time flies. Wishing you all the best tomorrow. Hurricane hasn't actually formed yet - it expected to tomorroew or Wednesday but it's in the Gulf and we're in the cone of uncertainty so... We'll be fine - I do worry about all the areas around here that are still recovering from Debbie. kellyr21 - that sounds like an interesting exhibit! AussieMeg - yes- pop back in a Friday (hopefully not the two I'm away for). New York is Eastern time (where kitbop and I are) and LA is Pacific time (where gramma is) yard work today - I had planned on doing it over the weekend when DD17 would be around to help but the weather forecast says ...maybe not so...I did some weed eating and some mowing and weeding today. There's more to do but I only have so much energy especially with temps around 90 (and feels like 95+). Tomorrow is busy - I have a dr appt in the morning and PT in the afternoon so won't get out in the yard. Hopefully Wednesday's weather will enable me to get a bit more done outside.

gramma - hope you are away and floating serenely towards Hawaii! nylene - yay, you got that last layout done! I hope it distracted you somewhat. My brain is saying Thursday is your adventure but can you correct me if I'm wrong please? You are in my thoughts (seriously. you pop into my head multiple times a day! ) Linda - yikes, I hope the storm doesn't grow strong, or moves off track! Now I'm going to be storm hunting. I've always been a weather watcher, but as I get older I check the weather maps and then cannot remember what they said beyond the day we're living. It's frustrating because I like being able to plan a week around weather without having the check frequently. grammadee - thinking of you too! I haven't asked for a colonoscopy yet. My Mom would never stop complaining on the prep, and usually "failed" because she hadn't done a good enough prep... somehow she didn't think it should be uncomfortable? AussieMeg - oh my, I'm sorry I missed your birthday! It's nice that your birthday ushers in Spring, since I know Winter is your least fave. Happy birthday! kellyr21 - that sounds like a fabulous exhibit! I envy your urban adventures - there seem to be many opportunities to experience culture around you. Speaking of culture, DD and I are off to ANOTHER theatre show tomorrow, again with the Stratford Festival. This time it's "Something Rotten". Unfortunately, the many events this week - most are really good things but they add up to make me squirrelly and make me feel stress because I'm getting no down time. Student at work, and it's his midterm this week, which I'll have to fill in on my lunch hours because there is absolutely no time in the day. The big card making event this weekend, and I'm pushing to get the "homework" done or I won't be able to participate, but there's no time, so I'm stressed about that too. DH leaves on a trip Thursday. We have an offer on the house we tried to deal with yesterday and today may be interesting... Uh oh, late...

(((((HUGS))))) kitbop. Hard to find "ME" time with a busy work schedule and a house full of people. my long work commute was a curse, but also a blessing, giving me time alone to let one life go and get set for the other one. Please don't put too much stress on yourself about the card making weekend. Can you just chill and watch the videos and choose to do the crafting later? I, too, am jealous of your museum tour, kellyr21. I love the peace and quiet of country living, but sometimes think it would be nice to be in a neighbourhood where I could walk to a coffee shop, take an uber to a bandstand or a museum--or a beach! Stay safe, Linda.

Yes you’re right, winter is my least favourite season. Spring actually starts here on 1st September, as we follow the meteorological seasons instead of the astronomical seasons. Mind you, the weather has been pretty ordinary so far this spring, it feels like winter still!

Hey Pokeys' Thinking of you nylene and gramma , for two completely opposite reasons! lol. I really need to try and get to another crop one day. I get a bad case of FOMO whenever I read about them! yes you do! LOL Happy belated Birthday!!! Linda I've thinking of you too, every time I see anything about the hurricane coming your way. And um, yes you should be using two hands on those pavers! I'm not going to be able to open a crop Friday. Ugh. Hopefully life will settle down again. I've just been working working working, and still getting to know Bess. She has the most pitiful whine and the cutest squeak and I'm still trying to figure out what they mean lol. I am still putzing with my last sample for Thursday. I really need to work on that tonight. Have fun kitbop ! I would be exhausted AND squirrelly with all you've had going on lol.

how is your new kitty doing? is she re-named yet? Um, we maybe have a name? We all seem to like "Jinx". But none of us feel 100% certain about it! We've never taken this long to name a cat before and we're all tiptoeing around, making sure that some unintentional name doesn't start to stick. She is settling in so well! My oldest cat - who is very bonded to me and gets jealous very easily - hates her, but he hates everything new too. She doesn't like being chased by Poppy puppy, but she's getting used to it. She is such a cuddler. I sit down at my craft desk and she jumps up and hugs me, and won't leave. I only have 1 free arm. And she purrs so loudly, and drools when she's cuddling. We've found a good one joyfulnana - I too will be busy Friday evening with my crop-and-create cards event. I hope Bess starts to make you feel like she's at home. I think all our animals have actually helped our new cat feel like this is a pet-friendly place? I also think this new cat was likely a spoiled house cat until she got lost? got dumped? I can't imagine why you'd dump a cat this sweet except for being too cuddly... but anyways she seems to be adjusting way faster than we hoped.

Home from my procedure and it went smoothly, although all it did was confirm what we already know. No way she could widen the pathway. She took some biopsies while in there, but that was just routine—she saw nothing to be concerned about.

kitbop - she sounds so sweet. My feeling on kitty names is that you'll know when its THE name. Chai and Dorian took a while to get names, Thumper got his almost immediately. Dusty ...there was a strong lobby for Beskar but once Steel Dust (nn Dusty) was suggested - that was his name and it's perfect for him. So sounds like no crop on Friday? I'll probably be scrapbooking anyway (fingers crossed that we either don't loose power or it's back by then.) grammadee - glad it went well.

Good morning Pokies!
Yawn - twas a short night between difficulty falling asleep and the phone alert waking me up (Hurricane Watch) and then getting up to see DD and DH off. Going back to sleep didn't work so I'm considering a second cup of coffee.
Dh has taken our car to the dealership for some repairs - it's nearly 2 hours away but the closest place that works on Mini Coopers. I'm going to be tackling some more of the to-do list and maybe bake something (our family hurricane tradition is to clean the house the day before and bake hurricane treats)
