hope you can find a way to get caught up on your rest, Linda. Again, stay SAFE! I too am feeling a bit dozy this morning. Anesthetic hangover? It was just light sedation, but it still lingers a bit. Going to have MY second cup of coffee, and then will decide if I will dig some carrots today. Any baking would happen tomorrow.

Thanks grammadee - I decided against the second cup of coffee - I don't want too much caffeine to keep me up tonight. But I've been busy cleaning - the garage is done including the windows inside and out. Taking a water break and then heading outside to do the rest of the ground floor windows (the outside of the 1st floor ones will just have to stay dirty, lol - luckily they are all on the back of the house (our upper floor is only over the back half of the house. Laundry is moving along, Rosie is vacuuming - mopping, dishes, and bathrooms are also on the list and DD17 requested butterscotch brownies as a hurricane snack. grammadee - take it easy today and don't overdo it - the combination of the sedation and the limited diet beforehand are probably working in tandem. Can the carrots wait?

Sorry I've been missing in action. I've not been feeling the greatest so I've been doing a lot of napping. I got all of my Cardtober samples ready to go, so I'm a bit ahead of the game there. Then I signed up for a fall card exchange - did I choose something simple? NO! And a few time I've been ready to throw by Silhouettes (yes plural) off the porch!! At the rate I've been moving on that project the participants might have their fall cards by Christmas. grammadee and nylene have been heavy on my mind. I'm glad to see that Grammadee is almost back to fighting form - just take it easy girl. I hope Nylene is doing well, I should have asked her for her daughter's phone number so I can check up on her. Us "oldies but goodies" have to stick together. kitbop There's nothing like a snuggly kitty. joyfulnana I hope Bess warms up some more - but she is a cat you know and most of them have "cattitude" Linda I don't know if I could handle living in a hurricane path, says the woman who live in the state of fires and earthquakes! Honey - you're washing windows before the hurricane hits?? I leave for Hawaii on Friday morning. I feel like a 4 year old that has been promised a trip to Disneyland!!

I don't know if I could handle living in a hurricane path, says the woman who live in the state of fires and earthquakes! Honey - you're washing windows before the hurricane hits?? hurricanes have the advantage of plenty of warning - although this one developed rather more rapidly than typical As for the windows - they came up in rotation on the chore list plus DD24 is coming this weekend (Monday, maybe Sunday) so I'm trying to do the pre-guest chores also. And it's nice to have a clear view of the storm I leave for Hawaii on Friday morning. I feel like a 4 year old that has been promised a trip to Disneyland!! have a wonderful time!! I love your layouts and I agree - love is building the Ikea flatpacks!

gramma , I hope you have a wonderful cruise. Linda , I hope the hurricane breaks apart and just becomes a storm. Stay safe! I hope your shoulders feel better tomorrow, but sounds like you have lots to do today too. Be careful. I wanted to finish this last layout and have my table free and clean. This is for Sketchtember 14. Can't believe Swayzee is this old. Off To Kindergarten Wow - look at that title!!!

How is your recovery coming, gramma? Just spoke to my ddil, who had surgery last week. She is hoping to get the pathology results later this week. Really hoping they "got it all".
How is your DDIL? I feel bad that I haven't asked sooner.

Linda - here's me, using google maps to see exactly where you are in Florida and tracking that dang storm...I'm glad you are so inland, and I hope you keep power are stay above flooding! I know you sometimes have gotten cut off by flooded lower roads. Save driving to your DH. gramma - if you hear anything about nylene, you'll pass it along right! I'm heading into the card making event at 9:30. We'll see how far I make it. Last night at the theatre: holy cannoli. I haven't laughed that hard in so very long and 7 shows into this year Katie said it was her favourite. She says that a lot tho The quality is jaw dropping, as in better than what I've seen on Broadway. If you guys were local, I'd be making you go see it! Rough getting home at midnight - too old for that! - but so happy I did.

kitbop - yes, I'm about as far inland as one can get in Florida Looks like the storm will landfall on the panhandle not the big bend area - means we won't get the storm centre in our area but we'll be on the "dirty" side which tends to get more winds/rain/tornados than the other side. I'm not worried for me - we're at the top of a hill so no flooding concerns personally - and typically our power comes back on fairly quickly if we lose it because within the subdivision, it's all underground, and the main lines leading to the subdivision are also leading to a fire station and a big factory (DH's job) so they tend to be restored early on. My community and the surrounding area? Is still recovering from Debbie last month and there are still pockets(especially west of us) recovering from Idelia in Aug 2023 and our ground is very soggy and our rivers very full. So I do anticipate flooding, trees down, and power outages. I don't drive so that won't be a problem, lol. He leaves at noon tomorrow to drive to VA so if everyone could pray for a safe drive for him I would appreciate it. nylene - hoping all is going well. (((Hugs))) and prayers gramma - are you all packed? Have a wonderful time! kitbop - glad that the play was great! Yeah - getting home at midnight at our age is hard. Have fun with the cardmaking. My house is clean, butterscotch brownies are made, DH is at work (until noon), and DD is still asleep, lol. Going to finish up with email and browsing and then print some sketches.

gramma, I hope you are all recovered before heading off to Hawaii. There is love on Flickr for your fun LO's. Not good news about my ddil. She went in to see her surgeon about a post op infection and now they say the treatment will have to be much more aggressive than planned. She is still struggling with the options, but it looks like a long haul either way. If anyone tells me that cancer is the result of poor life choices, I will kick them in the teeth. This girl has been super vigilent with diet and exercise, has never smoked, nursed both her babies...

OK Ladies - I couldn't stand it any longer - I called Nylene. She sounds so good - like she hasn't been through a big surgery. And so so so much better than the last time. She said that the pain blocker only lasted 14 hours but that the pain meds she is on are working. She is home and has PT coming in few minutes. Again - she sounds great!!

Linda another one here googling you! How much impact are you expected to see? I'm seeing some very scary things about the expected storm surge. We are expected to get some rain from this hurricane and we are a very long way from Florida! Stay safe! grammadee I'm so sorry. ((((hugs)))) I hope it subcombs quickly to treatment. I'm sending you all my good thoughts! gramma you are excused for naps! How are you feeling? OMG ENJOY Hawaii!! Your pages are so beautiful and I love your style. I love everyone's style!! Truly! Thank you for checking on nylene, I'm so happy she's doing well! This sounds promising! I am so far behind on commenting and playing with sketches. I hope to get some scrapping time in this weekend. I'm taking my mom to the Dr. tomorrow, and DS2 had been wanting to go to dinner and Friday is the only free night he has. Hopefully I'll be back to cropping next week.

Thank you joyfulnana for sharing that here for me. Power JUST came back on (Saturday afternoon)- we lost it late Thursday evening. Very grateful to all the linemen out working in the heat and humidity here. We're fine. House is fine - only damage was to a piece of trim on the screen room. LOTS of tree damage, multiple trees down in our yard including one blocking the driveway, and many, many branches down as well. Several sections of the side privacy fence are down and shattered. VERY glad we had those trees by the house taken down earlier in the year or things would have been a whole lot worse. County-wide - 99% were without power post-storm and we're only down to about 74% without now so that's going slowly. There were probably tornadoes - I haven't seen anything official but we definitely had warnings and there's damage consistent with them locally. And yet, we're still doing SO much better than the Gulf coast. (I'm going to cut and paste into a couple of threads so you may see this more than once - sorry)

Happy Saturday! Hope you all are doing well today! Not much going on today but rest and relaxation. I did make a new video about our trip to the art museum last weekend to see the Yves Saint Laurent show. We had a good time and loved sharing our experience in this video. I hope you check it out. Yves Saint Laurent Exhibit Video
Also, I found a couple of layouts I made some months ago and forgot to share. Here is one of them. Beautiful Day LO by Kelly Roberts, on Flickr I enjoyed seeing all your layouts and cards in the gallery. Left some praise there. Keep it going! Sending prayers for all of you gals and so glad nylene is coming along. SO happy to hear that. Have a nice weekend!!!

Had a chance to scrap tonight - I had plenty of time on Thursday but was a bit distracted by the impending storm and then Friday and most of today, it was just too hot and humid to do anything (other than the yard cleanup which really wasn't optional). But I've done laundry, dishes, and cleaned toilets as well as cleaned out the fridge since the power came back on plus caught up on emails so...scrappy time. Probably going to have an early night though

Feeling very grateful tonight - heard chainsaws and looked out - there were two men cutting up the tree blocking my driveway. My neighbours had cut up some of it but their chainsaws couldn't handle the thicker parts. I had figured we would have to call our tree service and pay $$$ to have them cut it up and remove it as our chain saw is small and electric (battery) and if the neighbours bigger gas-powered couldn't get through...ours wasn't going to. No idea who they were. I went out and thanked them. No company logos on their truck but they did have hi-vis vests and hard hats and big chainsaws.

Happy Sunday! Hope you all had a nice day. We had a good day so far. We went to church and then one of our favorite shopping centers. It was fun walking around and seeing some of the luxury brands. This mall must have as many or more fashion brands as Rodeo Drive, Beverly Hills. It's so many stores and three levels! I have only been on the first floor. and today saw a little of the second level and still didn't see it all. LOL! They also had a Latino heritage celebration with these cute dancers. linda- Wow, those men were so kind to help out. So glad you all are ok and this kind gesture just made the experience so much sweeter. So cool! Your layouts look so nice, too. Thanks for the praise on my page. I was going through some of my supplies and saw that page and a few others I never shared. Glad I found them. nylene- Waving hi!

Thinking of you, nylene, hoping your healing is going as to plan. So glad you got to talk to gramma and that she passed on your progress report to us. Have a wonderful vacation, gramma. I am so jealous! So glad you are safe Linda, the power is on, and that your drive is now cleared. How wonderful that those guys took the time to help others after the storm. That mall sounds wonderful, kellyr21: gorgeous fun merchandise, great displays, and entertainment! Sounds like a great place to spend a Sunday afternoon. Hope your mom's dr appointment went well, joyfulnana and that you enjoyed your family time this weekend. Really feeling like fall today. Cool and breezy until about 4:00pm when it started to rain. Dd & family dropped in for a couple of hours earlier this afternoon and mom & dad worked to clear off some of the garden while dgs helped me dig all the onions and some of the carrots. There will still a few cukes and zucchini out there, so we picked them as well. Potatoes are still in the ground, but that is the only big job left out there. Hoping all the Pokeys have a great week!

praying for nylene - hoping healing is going well. gramma - enjoy your vacation - so fun! grammadee - sounds like a lovely fall day - your harvest seems to be going well - glad you have some help. Dh got back from VA yesterday with DD24 and the two kitties - Chai and Thumper. Kitty re-introductions today went very smoothly - I think they all must have remembered each other. Got to scrap online this afternoon and finished up Sketchtember! As well as work on an old Sketchy Saturday sketch that's been on my desk for months. I'm not especially happy with the results - subbing hexagons for pentagons didn't go as well as hoped - but it's done

My whole weekend was so peopley I didn't have the bandwidth to come chat and had a mostly screen free Sunday lol. It was really nice and I think I may make that at least a Sunday morning habit if not the entire day. Linda I'm so happy you all are safe and didn't have much damage. I love the way hexagons look but I have a hard time with them myself. You have a busy scrapper! That's awesome that the cat meeting went well. I'll bet they do remember each other. I hope your DDs enjoy their time together while you are vacationing. That is so close! I can't believe it's October tomorrow! nylene I'm thinking of you and sending good thoughts, I hope your recovery is less painful than the last one. And I hope you are letting people help you! kellyr21 your Sunday sounds so carefree and fun. That mall sounds cool, I can't imagine how big it must be. I will definitely check out your video as soon as I leave here. grammadee your day sounds so cozy somehow. I love fall. We are still in the 80s everyday, so more like Spring than Fall lol. I know quite a few of you are going to be unavailable this weekend, but if anyone is interested in cropping let me know!
