Hello SKETCHtember fans! Are you ready for your first sketch to play with? Let's start with an easy one. Found this sketch on Pinterest, and traced its source to the Hip Kit Club. I was drawn to the simple design and the different pp strips, which I thought would work well with scraps.
Here is my take on the sketch. This will be my August page in next year's family calendar. I used a larger photo and tilted it, and didn't go with the scattering of stars.
Now it is your turn. Use this design for a page, a card, any project. Let it give you a start, but take it wherever your creativity goes. Have fun!

Here’s mine. I copied grammadee and tore and notched my paper strips. And I meant to write the date and name of DD’s school at the bottom. IMG_0418 by Beachy, on Flickr

Thanks for playing, Linda. LOVE how your grey pops work to highlight the kitty fur in the photos! And how that big flower shape in the background stands in for the circle in the sketch.

Such a great way to use the sketch, justjac. I love that you used tags instead of the pp strips--works with the sketch and with your theme of buying books!

Finally have my first page done in ? many many months. It did take some effort to get up to speed on scrapping again. Decided I HAVE to finish the album I started 2 years ago, our Hawaii trip from Nov '21.

Shark! by BreetheFlea, on Flickr My take on the sketch. I know I have a large piece of shark themed paper somewhere, could I find it today? Of course not... It will probably reappear when I'm scrapping Christmas or Halloween... I lined the paper strips up at the bottom, attempting to make it look like waves at the top. The embellishment cluster bubbles (vellum) were relocated to hide the adhesive behind other things on the page. I like this sketch, I'm going to have to use it again.

Thanks for playing along, breetheflea and angel97701. Heading over to Flickr to look more closely at these great LO's. I am again amazed at how different each take is, and the different little extras each person adds.

I don’t know how many sketches I’ll get done, but I’m hoping this will kickstart my scrapping! Here is my take on #1
My dog was obsessed with the hamster, and would stare at him intently whenever he was allowed into DD's room. The title is a play on a phrase that became a piece of family nonsense! 😄 I turned the paper strips into squares, popping up alternate ones. And the hamster was called Pumpkin, so naturally I had to find PP covered in pumpkins! The three little tags on th bottom left are just waiting for confirmation of the date the photo was taken.

Thanks, lesley, for taking this on! And I hope this is the start to a flurry of scrappy fun for you! Great story to scrap, fun accents right down to the pumpkin background pp, and I love the little stitched squares in place of the pp strips.

Thanks for playing with this one, AussieMeg. I mentioned this on Flickr, but I absolutely LOVE how the dots and stars at the bottom look like they are tumbling right out of the papers above them.

Your sketch is in there somewhere. Oh I see it loud and clear in those purple banner pieces and scattered stars. Thanks so much for playing and for stretching this sketch to two pages.
