Hey! This is the scrapbooking board, so of course I am talking about craft supplies!
I have doing some decluttering/closet cleaning. Have a few boxes of clothes and footwear to donate. Didn't find it hard to separate what I was keeping from what I was gifting to the Next to New charity, or for sports teams' raffle tables (with a few items--but not many--added to the trash bag)
But a few of those bedroom closet shelves are taken up with unopened craft kits. I have a KaiserCraft christmas tree scene, a 3-D star, some TH trays/display shelves. Several mini album kits, including a BoBunny DD kit from a few years ago. There are several shaped page booklets with the word FAMILY, each letter a separate page. Most of them require alot of detailed pp cutting, plus decoupage skills I have never really possessed. Speaking of possessed... why did I ever think I would be able to use these?
Now I don't know what to do with this stuff... Don't know if I would actually get any of them finished myself. Don't see them as getting alot of interest in a garage sale or flea market.
What do YOU have hiding in your closet, waiting for you to decide what to do with them? Any ideas what to do with mine in a rural community?

Does any local church have an annual garage sale, or craft show, where you could just donate them to be sold, and have the church keep the money?
I'm very rural. We don't have trash pick up out here. But on Mondays, you can take your trash to the Township garage to throw out (also where the recycling dumpsters are.) People will leave "decent" items outside the garage for other people's treasure.
Can you park these at the end of your driveway with a "free" sign on them?

grammadee - is there a free/giveaway table at that crop you have coming up? If so, I would consider bringing them there and seeing if you get any takers. And if that community supports an LSS, then there are probably enough crafters that if there is a thrift store, you could drop off whatever isn't claimed and someone will probably be pleased to find them at the thrift store. Alternately - is there a senior centre or facility in your area that might appreciate some? Like kimba - we have a giveaway spot at the town dump. Are there any that your grandkids might enjoy? But if you can't rehome them - then it's okay to let them go in the bin if they aren't something you're going to use. Or to deconstruct them and keep any usable parts first and then bin them

Ii don’t know if you have nursing homes or senior centers nearby but arts and crafts are popular at the ones in my area.

The crafty thrift store near me recently informed me that they will take the needlecraft kits I found in my basement recently, even the one I think I started a little work on.

I mentioned before that I have a lot of paper that was used for making kits and I have a lot extra. I've been pulling out boxes and putting into piles. It will take me a few weeks, but if anyone is interested, I'd be happy to ship if anyone wants to pay postage. It is a lot of nice, thick paper. Lots of different brands.

grammadee those types of projects sometimes do well on Ebay. I usually sell my new scrapbooking items on Ebay and make a little extra money... to spend on more scrapbooking supplies!
