Happy Labour Day to celebrating Peas! I'm sorry I'm late. I'm blaming Shimelle as she was live this morning, and I'm never home for her lives so decided to enjoy, but then forgot about posting the sketch today! She's also to "blame" for my choice of sketches this year: I'm doing my own. Going back to basics, and talking about how to MESS with a SKETCH! Here's what I sketched for myself before I started the layout, because I planned to use 2 smaller photos and 1 large photo: sketch sept. 2 by kirstendrew, on Flickr And here's what I ended up with after I realized I wanted the picture of the girls to be larger: Layout fleeting moments by kirstendrew, on Flickr 1. kept the idea of a "block" of photos but overlapped and allowed the block to be informal 2. love the way the 2 layered torn strips looked across the bottom 3. added extra embellishment areas because that's just me 4. the background paper is a vicki boutin, I didn't do the strips behind the photos Now it's your turn to MESS with my sketch!

Love the sketch, kitbop! And your take on it leads to a whole other way to interpret it, so two inspirations for the price of one! I quickly put a page together this morning, and will photograph it after I have the facing page complete. I saw what looked like waves? layered torn edges? at the bottom of the sketch and that took me to pulling out lake photos. Will pop my take into this post when I have it...

I'm not sure how close to the sketch I ended up but... your VB background inspired my torn background and I did keep the photo block and the torn strip at the bottom

Linda, I hope you don't run out of cool kitty papers and supplies, cuz your four footed family members seem dedicated to setting up photo op's!

Here’s my version. I changed the photo block arrangement and switched the location of the top clusters, but other than that stayed pretty close to the sketch. Thanks kitbop , great sketch! IMG_0421 by Beachy, on Flickr

What a cool (no pun intended) take on the sketch, beachy! Flipping the photo block really worked for these pic's. I will check it out on Flickr later.

I do find it hard to find sufficient kitty papers and embellishments but I do have some cat stamps and there's always the Cricut so...I'll just have to get as creative as the kitties do. beachy -love the winter layout and your rearrangements work perfectly for your lovely photos

Great camping layout grammadee . I love how you did the torn border and also the mix of font in the title.

Here is my take:
Trying to use up the tail end of a collection. Triangles are left overs from 2022 Sketchteber layout cut down. The tab has the info flyer, now just have to find my photo corners to attach it!

Here's my version: July 4 by BreetheFlea, on Flickr I flipped the photos sideways, but kept everything else in the same spot. I couldn't figure out how to embellish this one with the busy background paper, so added some torn layers under the photo block.

Thanks for the fun Shimelle-esque sketch kitbop ! I had planned to "mess with it", but in the end I stuck very closely to it.

Linda I love the giant vertical title and how you repeated the torn edges on the big patterned layer. I think I've caught everyone else in the gallery.

This is my version. I did a collage of photos for the center block. I wanted to use my Doodlebug school scraps so I pieced the background. I guess that's how I messed with the sketch. Thanks, kitbop, for the sketch. A Class Act
