Hopefully week two is better for us. LSU plays Nicholls State on Saturday and *should* easily win. Ha, we all know how that goes. Florida State is 0-2 and no one saw that coming. On a sad note, our running back, John Emery, who has had troubles with injuries, grades, etc. over the years had a great game against USC. He tore his ACL in practice and is out for the season and his career at LSU is over.  Who does your team play? Geaux Tigers! |

I always love this thread. I missed last week while we were on vacation.
Purdue has a bye week. I don't like that it is this early in the season but oh well.
We beat Indiana State last week.
I am so happy football is back!

Michigan vs Texas. Texas is favored, but I was really surprised with how well Michigan played last week, so I'm hopeful they can win.
Tennessee @ NC State. TN is favored by 10. Our little QB was AMAZING last week. I love watching Nico.

Next up is our first B1G game against Maryland, which should show us if there's any hope for a good season! pantsonfire As an Eastern time zone resident, I never thought about our noon games playing at 9:00 am on the west coast. That seems so early to me, so I'm glad you like it! |

Auburn plays California on Saturday. I'm hoping for a better game than last week. We played Alabama A&M and it was a slaughter. We beat them 73-3. I much prefer games that are a little more evenly matched.

That seems so early to me, so I'm glad you like it! Another west coaster chiming in. While it does seem early and LSU plays much better in night games, it's kind of nice to have your game over with early. Seems most of our games start at 4:30 Pacific Time which is right when I'm usually starting dinner so I have to be creative and prep earlier. Good thing for DVRs so we can pause it, eat dinner, clean up then go back to the game and fast forward through the endless time-outs and commercials. |

I'll say for probably the only time this year: Northwestern is undefeated!! We play Duke tonight and Duke has always given us problems. I don't have high expectations, but GO CATS!

The TCU game tomorrow is on ESPN +, one of the few subscriptions that I do not have. You have to draw the line somewhere with all these subs. My dd is going to the game and will text scores periodically. 💜
One of the big games is Texas vs Michigan. I grew up and spent 35 years in Michigan. I have a lot of friends and relatives there. I usually root for Michigan, except in rare situations. In this case - Go Blue. 💙

I had to keep reminding myself last week that Furman was getting paid a lot of money to be there - probably enough to fund their year - and that our 2nd and 3rd string got some playing time. The people who sit in front of me have a 3rd string family member, and they get so tickled every time he gets into a game. Its delightful to watch them. |

I like to say the Amish have rumspringa and he’s having an Auburn one LMAO. Tomorrow is the first time he has tickets to the actual game (he wasn’t selected last week) so we are excited for him. Texas A&M played McNeese today -- and blew them out of the water -- 52-10.
Some of my family got their undergrad at McNeese, so I was kinda hoping it would be a closer game than it was.
Tonight, Texas Tech plays Washington State at 9pm. I probably wont stay up to watch all of it unless it's a good game. Tech's Old Pirate, Mike Leach, used to coach at Washington State, so I am sure there will be some tributes and whatnot. I'd like to see those.

LSU is having a tough time with Nichols, Bama is having a tough time with South Florida and, so far, at least 4 teams in the top 25 have lost. I am an NIU Alum with kids attending there and 1 in the marching band at today's game and this was an incredible game. The commentary was not in their favor but when NIU scored and they discussed Hampton and Hammock you heard their love of NIU. That in my opinion creates a winning culture. NIU fought hard and stayed in the game mentally and physically. I am so proud as are mykids - but my dog thinks I lost mind! |

That was the best first half of a football game I've seen in a looooooong time...and almost the worst 4th quarter. So many penalties called that weren't correct, so many not called (and yes, some that were rightly called). But Nebraska is 2-0!!!

My team is the University of Washington. We had no clue what team we would end up with after the decimation of the last off-season. We're just hoping for bowl eligibility, and so far so good. 2-0 and lots of potential on both sides of the ball.
My favorite results of today, besides our win is Notre Dame's loss to other Huskies. And former Pac-12, not so great, Cal beating SEC Auburn. Cal's coach used to be a defensive coordinator for UW, so there's some crossover history for us there.

The first half was glorious. The 2nd half may have been the worst half of football I have ever experienced. No matter, beating Colorado was joyful.
Notre Dame losing was awesome! And watching Iowa State kick a field goal at the end of the game to beat Iowa was so much fun!
