Can anyone recommend a food processor? I'd like something relatively small but definitely can handle nuts.
I went with the KitchenAid 3.5 cup in pistachio color. I ordered online and it should be here Tuesday.

I have the small Kitchen-aid one mentioned above, and it handles nuts and everything else I throw in there just fine.

I just bought one at a yard sale. It’s small. I haven’t used it. I really don’t need it BUT I’ve always wanted one. I think it’s a cuisinart.

I should have asked before but is the KitchenAid easy to clean?
My cooking has been going through some transitions and what I need now is adapting to those changes. 😀

yes it is just 3 pieces the lid the blade and the bowl.. the blade pulls out fairly easy and snaps back in when it is dry... i just stick a bottle brush/straw cleaner type thing in the middle of the blade.. i dont put them in the dishwasher... (i dont have a dishwasher... lol)... wipe down the actual motor part and electric cord... no biggie....
when it is dry I put it all back together and because I am weird I put it back in the box it came in and back on the pantry shelf.... lol

We have had a Black and Decker Handy Chopper for 35 years (it was a wedding present). I still use it for chopping nuts. LOVE that little thing. I have a Cuisinart too but never use it. I just pull out this little guy.

Very easy. Lid, bowl, blade and blade insert (long black thing it attaches to, like a tube).
I soak them all in hot soapy water, use a sponge and then rinse. Then I towel dry and let them sit out (mainly the tube and lid)

Thank you all .I think I'm going to go with the 3.5 c KitchenAid. I'm hoping I can find the pistachio color. That looks so pretty.

We have an 8-cup food processor from Cuisinart. The big selling point was dishwasher safe.
Haven't used it for nuts, but it's a zippy little thing (well, not little compared to a 3.5 cup, but it does the job well). We got my mom the same one for Christmas and she uses hers to make pesto.

I use mine a lot in late fall and winter to make soffritto for minestrone soup. Those finely chopped up vegetables makes a world of difference in the soup flavor.

Just a FYI, I bought my KA 3.5C on sale on Black Friday so if you can hold out for another month or so when fall sales start, you should be able to get it at a discount. I'm fairly certain I got mine for close to 50% off on BF. Granted, this was pre-pandemic, but hopefully that is still the case.

I also have this one and highly recommend. I now have a full size one so I haven't used it much in the last few years. But I think now I'm going to take it out to our RV for use there.

I finally got to a point where I was like, you deserve a real food processor. But maybe I could hang in there a bit longer.

That's what I figured with the 3.5. that if I got to using it and really felt it was just too small, it could go in the camper.

I have a small Little Oskar that was a wedding gift 35 years ago and I LOVE it. I’ll be sad when it dies. I’ve had a couple different big food processors over the years but the small one is what I use 98% of the time. Since it’s no longer made anymore, I bought a 3.5 cup Cuisinart so I’d have a small food processor at our cabin too. About the only time I use the big one (replaced a Black & Decker that was a pain to clean with a Ninja XL last year) is when I’m processing homemade pumpkin purée for pies which happens once or twice a year.

It is such a drudge to pull out my huge Cuisinart from the back of the "things" pantry. Guess I should look into the little one also.

Dang it!! Y'all broke WM. I went to the link and it now says out of stock. It won't even pull up. sigh...
ETA: well, I can drive 25 minutes over to the next town. They have it in stock. Whew!
But really, what am I getting from it that my Bullet thing won't do? I just made bean dip in that on Sunday. I also have a Ninja blender with the smaller containers. I just like to keep my Bullet out as it is white and rose gold. I am definitely for pretty.

I just checked out reviews at America's Test Kitchen and they recommend Cuisinart Elite Collection 4-Cup Chopper/Grinder. The 3.5 Kitchenaid came in a close second.

I have the little 3.5 cup KitchenAid food processor, I have a pink one and a turquoise one! I actually make peanut butter in them! Don't need oil, I just do a small batch at the time and stir it down if I need to until it gets to a thick spreadable consistency. I have two because one is always making peanut butter and the other one is free to chop other things. I also have a bigger KA food processor and the shredding disks for my KA Artisan stand mixer.

I really like it for finely crushing graham crackers, Nilla Wafers, Oreos, etc. for pie or cheesecake crusts, chopping nuts for all kinds of recipes, pulverizing freeze dried fruit to mix into frostings or fillings, mostly things like that. I like it because it’s small and faster/easier to clean. It would also be good for making salsa, pesto or those kinds of things but I don’t usually make my own. Generally if I’m puréeing something it’s a larger quantity and I’ll break out the big Ninja for that. I have a Magic Bullet but almost never use it. I generally only bring it out (with the pitcher attachment) when I’m making Instant Pot egg bites.

It doesn't seem very powerful first. And second the shape does not seem like it is very good for getting all the bits. I often make Nisha's tofu ricotta and I have a hard time blending *all* the tofu in it. I still end up with chunks no matter how much scrapping I made to do in that little thing. And I do half a batch at a time.
