It's midday on Saturday here, so I am posting now, even though it's early for you Northern Hempispherers! I made today's sketch from a Dorothy Guinan layout: On Our Walk. There is also a process video: Stretch the SketchHere is the sketch. I like that it uses full sized photos, and lots of layering. I think that either side could also make a good 12x12 page. And here is my layout:

I love Dorothy's videos. And her pages. Thanks for recreating the sketch for us, AussieMeg. I will pop into Flickr later to leave some love.

Watching the video was instructive, and glad to hear that she "guts" her paper too! Since I knew I would have multiple layers of paper I decided to go with the thin patterned paper from Provo Craft Stack III, at least 20+ years old. It is nice that it is easy to match within the stack and there were 3 sheets of each pattern. I also decided to find my notebook punch, yeah I found it! I made my own embellishments with an Altenew Tropic Leaves multi-step stamp and die set. The Turtle sign is a trimmed photo.
For inquiring minds this is the journaling: The best of the rest at Key West Butterfly & Nature Conservatory includes many types “butterfly friendly” birds and turtles. The soaring glass-domed tropical sanctuary has flowering plants, cascading waterfalls and trees to provide habitat. Rhett and Scarlett are the resident Caribbean Flamingos who eat prepared pellets to stay healthy and pink. Button Quail, Gouldian Finches, and Mandarin ducks posed for photos. The turtles were moving at turtle speed compared to their flighty co-residents! The flowers were amazing and a few deserved a photo even without a butterfly specimen. 11/19/19

SKETCHtember #14 by BreetheFlea, on Flickr My second green layout of the day. I was tempted to scrap this with shades of black because it's above lava rocks, but decided to finally use some green 49 and Market paper instead, and then covered most of it up Instead of a full 4 by 6 on the left I trimmed down two photos to pretend to be a 4 by 6, and I since I had one photo leftover and didn't want to leave it off the page I added it on the right. Then I got really wordy with the journaling and didn't leave room for much embellishing...I guess I also moved the title. I am happy to have gotten this page scrapped, it was fun reliving the adventure. Thanks AussieMeg
