OMG last night was so bad. Trump is mentally just not right. Why is the Republican party allowing this to go on?

They want TFG elected and have Vance step right in.
To pull TFG before election day, Vance could not hold on..

Also Vance could well be just as much a nightmare as TFG. Then Vance will pick a new VP. Far worse..

Former President Donald Trump has backed out of yet another interview with a mainstream media outlet.

The Daily Beast reported that Trump "abruptly" canceled a planned interview with CNBC's "Squawk Box" on Tuesday despite the fact that one of the show's hosts, Joe Kernen, is conservative-leaning.

The interview had not previously been announced by either side," the publication writes. "Sources told the Daily Beast that the network had invited Trump to an in-studio sit-down on Squawk Box to take place later this week and that his campaign had initially accepted."

Then they should sue.

I've been seeing coverage of Trump's disaster town hall all day on the news channels I watch and the social media accounts I follow.

That would be must see TV. She would bury him.

At this point, almost any journalist would bury him.  This economist basically schooled him.  Unfortunately, the audience was mostly MAGA.  Trump followed his playbook - he just repeated his usual falsehoods, evaded questions, changed the subject and insulted the interviewer.  Of course, Trump and Fox are spinning it as a success.  Hopefully, independents and moderates will not see it that way.

Trump mostly responded with familiar anecdotes and stories. And he insisted that mainstream economists and journalists were wrong about the impact of tariffs, insisting that they are paid by foreign countries and not by American consumers.

“It must be hard for you to spend 25 years talking about tariffs as being negative and then have somebody explain to you that you’re totally wrong,” he told Micklethwait, drawing laughter.

The former president repeated his false assertion that there had been a peaceful transfer of power after the 2020 election. In fact, his supporters stormed the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, to try to stop Congress from formally counting the Electoral College votes that had given the presidency to Joe Biden.

Later in the interview, Micklethwait noted that Trump’s policies would effectively stop trade with China, particularly since tariffs already exist on trade with the foreign power—a reality that Trump couldn’t accept. He baselessly denied Micklethwait’s data points.

But Micklethwait was undeterred: “You’re flooding the thing with giveaways. I was actually quite kind to you, I used $7 trillion,” he said, referring to the cost of Trump’s policies. “The upper estimate is $15 trillion. The Wall Street Journal, which is hardly a Communist organization, they have criticized you on this as well.

“You are running up enormous debts.”

Trump couldn’t handle the flipped tables.

“What does The Wall Street Journal know?” he said, crossing his arms. “I’m meeting with them tomorrow. What does The Wall Street Journal know? They’ve been wrong about everything. So have you, by the way.”

“You’re trying to turn this into a debate, as if there—” Micklethwait continued, before Trump interjected to say that Micklethwait “has been wrong all your life on this stuff.”

While discussing U.S. labor, Trump claimed that autoworkers at U.S. plants for foreign car companies such as Mercedes-Benz simply assemble parts “out of a box” and that children could do their jobs.

When asked about Google and whether the massive search-engine company should be broken up via antitrust laws, Trump opted to completely switch the topic, instead discussing voter rolls in Virginia and the Justice Department, exasperatedly adding that he “hasn’t gotten over that.”

“The question was about Google, President Trump,” Micklethwait said.

Former governor of Georgia calls out Gym Jordan for the subpoena for Fani Willis...

Roy E. Barnes, the former and most recent Democratic governor of Georgia, is representing Willis. He is a recipient of The John F. Kennedy Profile in Courage Award, and his no-holds-barred response to a letter Chairman Jordan sent led MSNBC/NBC News legal contributor Katie Phang to call him her “new hero.”

Barnes wastes no time going after Jordan, who went to law school but never took the bar exam, by chastising him for not following proper procedures:

“Though my client and I were discussed in the letter, I was not sent a copy. I thus obtained the same through public sources.”

“I find the tone of your letter to be filled with vitriol and anger,” Barnes declares. “I would suggest you take some deep breaths and calm down so this matter may be discussed without emotion. An anger management course might also help.”

Barnes goes on to call himself “just a country lawyer, unaware of the ways of Washington, D.C.,” before noting he “must comment on your statements regarding obedience to subpoenas lawfully issued by committees of Congress.”

“I notice you were served with a duly issued subpoena of the committee of Congress which investigated the January 6 insurrection against the government of the United States of America,” the Georgia Democrat continues. “You failed to appear before that committee. I therefore find your protestations regarding a normal citizen obeying subpoenas to be somewhat hollow. It reminds me of what Jesus said in Matthew 7:3: ‘Why do you see the speck that is in your brother’s eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye?’ In the South we have a similar saying: ‘That is like a skunk telling a possum his breath stinks.'”

“When you have calmed down and attended the anger management class, I will be glad to discuss this matter with you in a logical, dispassionate manner. I wish you and the other Members of Congress the very best in undertaking the work of the people.”

Barnes doesn’t end his missive there.

“By the way, since we in Georgia just experienced a great tragedy – a school shooting by a young man with a machine gun – do you think you could take a short break and solve that problem?”

CNN contributor John Dean, the former Nixon White House Counsel, called it “a wonderful ‘f**k you’ letter to Gym Jordan regarding his abuse of power in trying to influence the prosecution by GA DA Fani Willis.”

Phang’s post with Barnes’ letter went viral, with nearly a half-million views in just 18 hours.

With all the talk about a 'peaceful' transfer of power going around, I just remembered there is more to the transfer that goes forward for months, even some before the election.

Different staff members from both administrations meet and share information to help with the transfer. TFG did not participate.

Although I seem to remember hearing that there were discussions happening under the radar.
