Good Morning.
I'm having a reaction to yesterday's flu shot. Since it's not the real flu, I'll game and do house cleaning.
What do you have planned today?
Ods is staying overnight, because we're taking our cars in for service tmw am. His school is having a fundraiser at Chipotle, so he's gonna pick up Chipotle for dinner. Dh will have a bowl.
What's on your menu?
lucyg, how do you feel the day after chemo? I hope that you feel well.
May today bring happy moments and smiles for all.

Happy Wednesday!
Nothing really going on today. Working on reports at work and then I'll take my dad to a dr appointment this afternoon. He's been very nauseous for awhile and they can't really figure out what's going on. They've done multiple scans and tests and everything seems normal except that he just doesn't want to eat.
Not sure what dinner will be tonight. I should cook something because I picked up my grocery order yesterday but I may just order in. We'll see how the day goes.
Hope you all have a great day!

I'll go to AquaFit this morning. We're on fall/winter hours from 9-9:55. It'll be 100° today, that doesn't seem very fall-like! We ended up having our favorite strawberry/chicken/greens salad last night so tonight will be Spaghetti/meatballs. For those who missed The Summit, they are replaying the first episode tonight after Survivor on CBS. True words:

A busy day here for me today. I started with an early appointment at my GP’s office for a blood draw. My GP came into the lab while i was in the middle of the draw and asked how my surgery had gone as I haven’t seen her since. I’ll see her again in a couple of weeks to go over the test results. On the way home, I stopped by the supermarket for a few last things. Then it was into afterschool care, as one of my colleagues asked me to cover for her. We have seven new kids in the group that I hadn’t met yet, so that was nice. I left before the last hour, as we were down to 5 kids and we don’t need 3 carers to watch so few kids play on the playground. As I was over that side of town, I also stopped at the Asian supermarket near the train station to pick up a few essentials.
Home now and waiting for DH to return from Vienna. He has messaged me with an ETA which is good for planning dinner. I will eat before he gets home but I think he’ll want food when he gets here. I am making chicken bao buns with Korean fried chicken sauce. There is also coleslaw mix and fresh herbs to add.
We’re off to Italy first thing tomorrow until October 13th. Not sure when I’ll get to check in, in between sightseeing, pasta and gelato.

Happy Wednesday! Another hot day in the mid 90s. Cannot wait for the first true cold front to come through and break the cycle, although no idea when that will happen.
I'm trying to get out of the house to go see DH this morning but everyone is thwarting my plans! As soon as I sat down at the desk to wrap up a couple of things, DH called me. Then immediately afterwards DD called! Turns out she's on her way up there now so I'm not going to rush now. I'll leave after I pack a lunch for myself (so sick of fast food and hospital food).
This afternoon I need to do some paperwork and filing, as well as my weekly ironing. Then I plan to work on my quilt blocks some. Had hoped to last night but got sucked in to my newest needlepoint ornament and stayed up late working on it. As for dinner, absolutely no clue what I'll have.

Hi all, off to run some errands before a 1:30 appt. I've worn myself out searching for random specific items...fall clothing, shoes, plates for my table settings. My house is not organized and we have TOO MUCH STUFF! We just have to get a handle on this.
Okay, so I don't know anything about how challenges work. I want to go thru my freezer and see if I can create meals to use up the stuff that's been in there a while. How about this...anyone trying to do the same, we try to make 3 dinners a week just from freezer (and pantry and fridge), just not shopping for those meals beyond basic like milk or butter, etc. And we'll see if we meet our goals, and how soon we can clear things out. Any takers?
Tonight my plan is chicken tortilla soup. Maybe a salad or quesadillas with it. We'll see. Our chicken pot pie was awesome...it so hit the spot. One of our favorites, esp for a cool fall evening.

Nice to see you Darcy Collins . **GypsyGirl** , I truly hope that your dh is moved very quickly and that you won't have to keep up this exhausting regimen. Tearisci , thank you. It's really a mild reaction. Next month I'm getting the covid booster and that will be a different story. We hadn't seen stay kitty in a couple of days and she showed up this am. She's hanging even lower. I am still waiting to hear back from the rescues.
tmarschall, your challenge is a great idea. Betcha' you'll have some takers. Thank you for contributing a fun challenge to the thread.

Happy Wednesday dinner friends! scrapmaven I hope you feel better- yuck on the reaction, I suppose that's better than not knowing if you're coming down with something. sueg Have an awesome trip! You deserve the time with your DH and please have a gelato for me! Tearisci I hope they can find the cause of your dad's nausea, Could it be a side effect of an RX? **GypsyGirl** I'm with you on the anxiously awaited cold front. Once Mid September arrives it is time for Fall, every year we seem to have to wait longer and longer! tmarschall I'm in on your challenge! We have been on a mission to use what we have ( not to mention avoiding the grocery store) we have some beef shanks in the crock pot today from the freezer. We have 2 deep freezers, they are both very low right now, but one will be filled with beef from the ranch in about 6 weeks. Perfect timing! There is a turkey hiding in there that I want to use, but that takes a bit of planning since I have to thaw it and then bake on a day that DH is in town. DH is running a couple of errands, when he returns, I am going to the grocery store, I need a few things, mainly produce and bread. I have my list ready and a few meals planned ahead. Dinner is beef shanks in the crock pot, over some rice leftover from last night and crusty bread, I'll add a veg that I'll pick up at the store. Wishing everyone a great day!

Dinner tonight will be the ribs from last night if I am up to cooking. It’s iffy.

Fall has made it to my neck of the woods. It was only 50 when I took my walk this morning. At noon it is 63 degrees. But the sun is shining brightly! I am making some fall cards then I plan on getting out my fall decorations. Meeting DH at Sam's Club after he gets off work then off to another soccer game. sueg enjoy Italy. Can't wait to hear about it. scrapmaven I hope your reaction is short lived. This cool weather has put me in the mood for soup so I have chicken noodle soup started for tonight.

it is hot back in sf.. and my poor kid had the computer crash right before a big paper is due (has to be written in japanese, so can't just sit down at any computer. ). I have a genius appt at apple for her today but it is very stressful.. esp as she doesn't do well in heat.
we may take a hike with the dog today.. not much happening. I have chicken in fridge, so may have spaghetti chicken for dinner with a salad.
the big trees in front of our condo are gone.. and we are getting better views and a lot more light. we face west.. but have a nice big umbrella to shield us.

Hi friends! Checking in from my parents' house. Working today, then off tomorrow and Friday. DH and I will go visit my grandma at the nursing home after work tonight, help his dad get his grandma to some appointments tomorrow and then dinner with some friends, and then a few last things around here on Friday before heading back to VA.
We'll pick Bessie up at the cattery on Saturday morning. I've been checking in on her via the webcam set up at her penthouse a few times a day. Her next door neighbor is a sphinx who wears a little polo to keep warm. Bessie's just been hiding under the little blanket bed they have set up for her. They've played with her a few times. She usually takes a few days to adjust, so hopefully she'll be more social for them tomorrow. What a goober.

My GP came into the lab while i was in the middle of the draw and asked how my surgery had gone as I haven’t seen her since. Love that your GP knew you were there and checked in. Safe travels for your trip. I wish Italy were less than a day drive away for us! scrapmaven, I'm getting both Covid & flu vaccines on Saturday. Was originally booked for tomorrow but have a commitment now Saturday morning so will get them in the afternoon just in case I have a reaction (thankfully usually it is nothing more than a sore/tender arm for me). I didn't want to bump yesterday's thread, but peasapie, the apple tree is an Anna. I've never had one before, but the trees are commonly sold here as one that does well in a warmer climate. Delta Dawn, every time you mention smokies I think to myself "DH & DS would love to be at your house". There really isn't anything on the market here that compares to a Canadian smokie. tmarschall, I was thinking out freezer isn't too bad, but your challenge inspired me to switch up dinner plans. There are a couple packs of flautas that I've discovered were frozen before their use by date in February I have been pulled out for tonight. My original plans were more involved and I have a Zoom happy hour at 4:30 that interferes with making anything. The lucky first of my peeps home from work can handle popping these in the oven and putting out salsa, avocado, sour cream and a salad.

scrapmaven....sorry you're having a reaction and hope it doesn't persist too long. DH and I NEED to get shingles vaccines, but we keep putting it off. @tearisici.....it's so sad how your dear parents have gone through soo many medical issues lately. Hope they figure out how to stop your Dad's nausea. We need to leave in a bit to take DH to the eye doctor for a minor problem he's having, then a few errands. I was HOPING it'd be Fall temperatures, but nope---FULL SUNSHINE . and 90 degrees. I cannot WAIT for Winterrr!!!! I have to drive due to his eye issue, and a headache is starting, but I refuse to give in to it! Monday morning (wayyy tooo early!), I had a medical procedure. I think the nurse staring my IV was a new grad, and I literally have NEVER had an IV start burn so badly!!! It felt like she was putting acid into my hand. Even as a former nurse, I did NOT know what that acid-burning feeling was !??!!! I'd never had a patient react this way. Once she got a different vein, sure--the initial poke hurts a bit, but this time, the saline flush didn't feel like burning acid. Once I'd been lying on the uncomy stretcher for wayyy too long, both hips killlling me, etc. I started venting to DH that I refuse to do medical tests anymore. I kept changing positions (of course), but the stretcher was so HARD! . ANYHOO, it makes me mad, because I have clearly explained to my primary doc that it isn't the PROCEDURES that scare or hurt me, it's the pain, etc. that happens BEFORE from lying on hard surfaces, etc. In my chart, it says "patient anxious about medical procedures". No--- I'm not! I'm just in pain!

I'll grab the spaghetti sauce and meatballs out of the freezer. Does that count? Since they combined two classes, there were 40 people in the pool this morning. I can't wait for it to get cold so some people drop out. Hopefully not me! DS just texted that it's going to be 107° where he lives in the Bay Area.

Good morning dinner friends. I haven’t gotten up yet. Just laying here looking out the window. When I got home from the hospital 2 weeks ago the tree outside the window had green and yellow leaves. Then they turned all yellow. Then I watched them “rain”. And now they are all gone! Crazy how fast that happens!!! My sil is bringing me soup today!!! I will save some for dinner. Dh should be home tomorrow and then I will have real food!!! I’m still not very hungry, just basically snacking. @tmarshall I love your freezer clean out challenge!!! I need to do that!!!! scrapmaven I hope you feel more like yourself tomorrow cadoodlebug my sister lives in the Bay Area and she was complaining about how hot it is/has been.

I can’t do the freezer assessment til tomorrow. I just got on my connecting flight. Dinner is up in the air. Pretty much whatever we have in the house. My sil works in logistics and said to stock up on toilet paper and paper towels if you use them. If the port strike goes on long those will be one of the first things that will be hard to get. 🤷♀️ The minute I got off the flight in Atlanta I could feel the humidity. New Mexico was so dry. My skin is a mess. I’ll be peeling probably. sueg enjoy your trip! scrappintoee that is not how ivs are supposed to feel as you know. Dd had blood drawn last week at the dr. The 1st person attempted 5x before getting someone else who got it immediately. The rule used to be 3x then you get someone else. scrapmaven this is why I’ve delayed the latest Covid shot. I just don’t feel like being sick.
