My series of cards will encourage those who do not have die cutters, or electronics cutters to participate. I've tried to make each challenge easy and quick to help everyone have their own stash of cards or use them as gift sets to others. First up - A diagram and cutting directions - CARDTOBER #7 - MULTIPLE MONDAY by CLAUDIA LOVELESS, on Flickr Next up - A sample set Your challenge is to use two different but coordinating patterned papers and two coordinating card stock colors. You can make your main focus piece from a printable download from the internet, a die cut, a paper piecing or whatever. Your sentiment must be different for each card. That's it. I hope you have fun with this one. CARDTOBER #1 by CLAUDIA LOVELESS, on Flickr

OK, I admit I’m uncaffeinated right now, but I’m not getting it. The 5 x 3.75 light purple layer equates to the large background PP in your sample set, but I don’t see dimensions for the PP strips or their mats. Or am I missing something?

I was a bit confused at first, too, but just based on the measurements, I think “banner” must be referring to the vertical strips. No dimensions are given for the sentiment or sentiment background mat, which are the only part that is not identical is size, shape, or measurement on the cards. She used an oval sentiment as well as a banner sentiment. So I took that to mean we can use whatever sentiment size we choose.
At least that is how I interpreted it.

Yes that is what I meant - I should have used strip instead of banner. And the white base is the actual card. Sorry for the confusion.

Here is my take, gramma. Got two 5x7 cards using both sides of a piece of 2011 My Mind's Eye pp and some coordinating cs. Popped on some diecuts, and here ya go... Ct #7 by Gramma Dee, on Flickr

Did two more after stamping the whole simple strips Christmas set. Sine it was out stamped, heat embossed, and die cut two more sets. Easy peasy cuz the paper selection was done. Photos tomorrow sometime.

gramma , your cards are beautiful! This is a great challenge, but it was a bit of a challenge for me at first. Once I got the first two done, though, I switched to different papers, and it came together easier than the first set. grammadee , your cards are very cute! I love the focal point images, and how you adapted the sketch. angel97701 , the silhouette design on your cards is very striking. Your cards are lovely. Here are my cards:

grammadee Lovely! Nice die cut focal images. angel97701 very sweet, perfect for Christmas scrapnnana your example inspired me in my card creation. gramma Thank you for the set challenge! I like how your focal point daisies go with your printed paper. The black, white and yellow look great together. I did six cards because I chopped up a 12x12 paper and that was the most efficient amount.

angel97701, your cards look very elegant with those diecuts and colours. scrapnnana, I love both renditions of cards. The butterfly cards are so pretty, and those lemons are making my mouth water LOL. Good job getting a set of six cards out that paper, jjpeapea! Love your lemony cards, too.

gramma This was a fun design and your card sample really illustrated what you can do with patterned papers. scrapnnana Wow! Great job with both sets of cards, and I am always butterfly fan. jjpeapea Another rendition with lemons. So pretty and sunny. Shakti I really like how you switched up the layers to create two cards that look very different.

I thought I had replied, but either I accidentally deleted it, or it went into the Twilight Zone, so forgive me if I duplicate (in case it shows up tomorrow or something). jjpeapea, I love your bright and beautiful lemon cards. Shakti, your Christmas cards turned out really cute. gramma, this looks like a great challenge. I think the cards and colors you chose are lovely. I’ll work on getting caught up tomorrow. I’ve been out of town, and while I had some internet access, it was limited, and I had no ability to do any crafting.

You accidentally posted to "my" CARDtober thread instead of here gramma, does the card base count as one of the card stock colors? It looks like it in your samples...or maybe the light purple is a solid stock and not a subtle pattern?

Here ya go, gramma . This time I have four cards. I cut out the focals from a no name booklet of gnome images I ordered last year from Amazon. Since they each have a greeting (and four DIFFERENT ones, I want to point out), I added a piece of leftover glitter ribbon instead of the greeting piece.

I’m a bit behind - this is for the first challenge you posted on the 7th! I might’ve gone rogue here and there (once I got going I didn’t check the instructions again) but I think I followed the spirit of the challenge Your second challenge should work perfectly with some pieces I already have on my desk so I might be able to post a little faster for the next one.
