I walked past the one downtown today and on a whim stopped in. And walked out with 2 jackets, one is a slightly cropped (which being a short girl is good for me) barn coat style. I’d link it but it’s not on their website unfortunately, I really like it. The second is a short lightweight puffer with a hood. I also bought a big snuggly high neck sweater that I cannot wait to wear. It won’t be cold enough for another month (I hope). <—— and I might be able to wear it without the long underwear I was asking about last week Anyhow…I’ve never set foot in their store before, though I have seen them in other cities/countries for years. If you’ve shopped there, what are your thoughts about quality/value? I’ll be honest and say that I don’t typically shop at stores like this, and if it’s fast fashion quality, that’s a no go for me and I’ll take the items back. Before I remove tags, I’d love to know your thoughts. For instance, the fabric on the puffer is very soft and feels lovely, but does it snag or tear easily? And I’m wondering about pilling on the sweater, it’s from their “soufflé” line if you happen to be familiar with it. Off to do some googling as well. Thanks for any thoughts (positive or negative) you’d like to share!

It was the only place I could get clothes for my Gaijin body to fit. It was great!

I’ve bought a few things…I like it. I haven’t owned anything long enough to speak to the quality except for a pair of leggings that have held up really well. They have some really nice basics.

I have several pairs of pants from them. A few shirts, a crossbody bag, and maybe a few other things. One pants, several years old, finally got a hole in it. The material is the stretchy nylon type. So once a hole starts, it spreads! lol! I don’t have a store close by, although a San Diego one opens soon, but when I see a store, I’ll stop in to check out what they have. Their styles are pretty basic wear, at least I think so. Their nightwear is nice, but I don’t wear pjs so I’ve never bought any. My aunt buys their winter undergarment stuff from there.
ETA - I am not a sweater girl, so I can’t tell you anything about their sweaters. For what you pay, I think you get a good value at Uniqlo.

I have never heard of this retailer, so I googled.
I found this article interesting. It appears, they may cost a bit more, but the martieals used are of better quality and sustainable.

I like their t-shirts because they are thicker and don't lose their shape when you wash them. I'm not a t-shirt person, but I buy them for my kids and husband and they hold up.

My 30 year old daughter first told me about it 10+ years ago, so I've bought a lot of stuff there. I'm in Orlando and we have them at Disney Springs and at a large successful mall here. We were in Japan in March and literally went to 10+ different ones there-and the stuff was so cheap because of the favorable yen. I'm not their target market by 30++ years but they have a lot of cute things.
ETA-and the Heatech leggings I recommended are from Uniqlo also.

I love their fleece lined pants. But they are bulky. I don’t really have any other clothes.

Yes I have shopped there multiple times, both here and in Singapore and Thailand. My reviews:
Black pants for work, stretchy with a fake fly - These pants are so comfortable, I wear them to work (on the days I have to go into the office) every day during the colder months. They have held up well, with zero pilling. My mum has several pairs of these as well, and she loves them too.
ETA: The ones my mum bought were a bit too long. They took them up for her, then and there, for free.
T-shirts - The quality of the first lot of t-shirts I bought is honestly the best I've ever owned, no exaggeration. The fabric is quite thick and lovely and stretchy. They have held their shape well. The only reason I didn't buy more than two of them, is that the neckline is a bit higher than I usually wear. If it wasn't for that, I would have bought ten in every colour!
T-shirts - I also bought a couple of t-shirts on sale in Singapore that were average quality compared to the other ones, and a bit too short for my liking. Mea culpa, I should have tried them on first.
Zip up hoodie - I bought this in Singapore, after looking everywhere for years for a nice light weight zip up hoodie. I was beyond excited when I found them in Uniqlo AND the one I bought was magenta, which is one of my favourite colours. I have worn it and washed it so many times in the last year since I bought it, and it still looks like new.
DSO bought a pair of pants in Uniqlo in Koh Samui (of all places!) last month. He is really happy with them, although it's a bit early to give a review on the quality seeing that he's only had them a few weeks.
I forgot to pack my longer length undies (to stop chafing) when we went to Koh Samui last month. I had no idea where I was going to find something suitable in Koh Samui, especially for a woman whose bum is considerable larger than the average Thai woman hahaha! I was so excited when I saw that Uniqlo has opened up there (it wasn't there last year). I was able to get a pair of those undies that hold everything in, and I wore them and washed them every day for 10 days. Great quality, and reasonably comfortable for that kind of garment.
Hmmm, I guess you can say I am a fan!

Oh, and I love that you just put everything into the 'box' at the registers, and somehow like magic, everything gets scanned automatically!

I think Uniqlo is great for classic basics, especially if you stick with natural fibers. I dig their Asian aesthetic. I have three wool tunic sweaters that have worn like iron.
When skinny jeans were in, I wore their petite leggings pants--my body is narrow in the hips but I have a large belly and these were stretchy enough to accommodate my weird shape, not so skinny that they looked painted on, not baggy in the hips, thighs and butt.
I have a couple of men's fleece balaclavas for winter walks, and I bought their men's thermal crew-neck underwear tops, because women's long underwear almost always is low cut, which makes no sense if you're trying to keep warm.

I can only speak about their t-shirts from personal experience and they age beautifully. I haven't bought anything else so far.
DS(25) still has a couple limited edition shirts related to his favorite graphic novels he picked up as a teen in NYC (the original store in the US). After seeing their quality, I picked up plain t-shirts for myself next time I was near a store. I wish we had a store closer to us.

I wish we had a store closer to us. Weekend of Oct 18th at UTC is the grand opening. They are going to have gifts, entertainment, food, etc. all weekend. I won’t be there (heck no, lol!) but I plan to visit soon. I just hate the parking at UTC though.

I really like their basics. I have a bunch of lightweight long sleeved tees that are good for layering when walking in spring and fall. The one near me closed a couple years ago. I haven’t ordered online from them.

Yes, though not lately. We used to buy our winter puffy jackets there - and I have a few other things. I always thought the quality was great.

Interesting to see these comments. I've only seen the one Disney location, but I absolutely assumed it was trendy, cheap teenager clothing based on the signage and bright lights. Don't judge a book, as they say. . .

I've had a couple of their puffer jackets for years! They are holding up really well. They have good layering pieces. Their long underwear is actually really good. I don't buy a ton, but everything I've bought there I've been happy with.

Their clothing is simple and not always my style but their basic t shirts, camisoles and undies have been going strong for years.

I swear they had a store going into Fashion Valley a few years ago, but it never happened (maybe because of Covid?). Anyway, thrilled to see they are going into UTC and will definitely check it out. FWIW, I always park over by Crate & Barrel without too much of a headache.

Definitely not - It's more middle aged / old lady shop than teenager! My 26yo DD and my son's 19yo girlfriend wouldn't be caught dead in there, I wouldn't think haha! They also sell children's clothes.

They also sell children's clothes. To me, it is not a middle aged/old lady shop. I feel old in that store sometimes. The clothes are trendy, but still basic. The colors run towards basic too. They market to the 20-40 year olds. If you look at their website, or at least the US one, most of the models are young 20 year olds. Uniqlo US
