I’m looking for a meal planning app that you recommend. I would like it to also keep recipes and make a grocery list if possible.

I subscribe to Kelsey Nixon's Recipe Club. I don't use it or meal planning or grocery list but for new recipes ideas.
You can get the app when you subscribe and she has weekly meal plans and shopping lists.
She also shows how to serve or fix the meal to make it friendly for picky eaters.

Paprika - I use it all the time.
Downloading recipes: Find a recipe you want to keep. click the browser’s Share button Select Paprika Done! or you can enter a recipe manually; good for family Favorites that aren’t online.
Using recipes: You can scale them up or down (eg, recipe calls for 2lb beef, but you only have 1lb, scale it to half). You can add your own notes to each one. Add your own photos if you want to.
Use Timers: Set up multiple timers as you’re cooking.
Categories: You choose how to categorise the recipes, however makes sense to you. eg I have Mains: Chicken, Mains: Beef etc, and within each of those I have ‘Up to 30 minutes’, 30-60 minutes, 60+ minutes so that I can easily find the recipes suitable for the amount of time available to prepare them.
Pantry: Keep a record of what’s in your pantry and mark as Used as you go. Or decrease the quantity (eg when you use 2 eggs and have 10 left). You can also keep track of when you bought something and/or its expiry date.
Meal Planner: Start from the planner’s calendar view, and add recipes to the selected day; or start with the recipe and add it to whichever day suits. No minimum or maximum number of recipes you can add. Categorise within each day for breakfast, lunch, dinner, supper etc. You can also add notes as required, not just recipes.
Grocery List: From a selected recipe, or a Meal Plan, or a Menu, create your grocery list. It will look at your Pantry list if you use it, and will show which items on the list are already in your pantry. Also add items marked Out Of Stock, or Expired from you Pantry lists to your Grocery List.
Menu: Create menus as required. I have menus for Week 1 through Week 8, with each menu having our lunch and dinner recipes entered, then I cycle through them, adding the Menu to the Meal Planner each week, and creating my Grocery List. I do swap recipes as I wan5 to, it’s not set in stone, but just makes it easy if I’m in a rush. Or you could create Christmas Dinner menu, Thanksgiving etc. Or however it suits you.
Add your own photos if you want to.
Use any or all of the features as you want to, and just ignore the ones you don’t want.
I have Paprika on my phone and ipad, and sync them so I always have my grocery list (for example) with me.
Can you tell I love Paprika? I’ve used it for several years now.

I'm also a Paprika user. It'll go on sale for Black Friday if you can handle waiting. I've got it on both my phone and a tablet. I mostly use it for recipes and a bit of menu planning. Because I order pickup at my grocery store I've stopped using it for my grocery list, but I do use it for all kinds of other shopping lists.

Paprika is brilliant. I have it on my phone, my tablet and my lap top. There are different prices for each device, iirc, and I’ve had it on all 3 for about 8 years.

I like Paprika too, though I don't come close to taking advantage of all of its features.
A smaller detail I really like is that it keeps your device on while the app is open.

Question about Paprika: does it just link back to the original recipe web page or does it actually import it? I’ve been having some issues with my older saved recipe links no longer working because the original webpage has been removed.

I’ve been having some issues with my older saved recipe links no longer working because the original webpage has been removed. It actually does both - yes, as gillyp says, it does completely import the recipe and you can therefore edit it as you want (maybe to add or remove ingredients to suit yourself, or to add notes etc), but it also includes a link to the original webpage. That’s really useful if the original has step-by-step pictures or a video - if there’s a helpful video on the original site then I will put a note on the recipe to remind myself to watch it. Another helpful thing I forgot in my original post, is that you can assign a recipe to multiple categories - so I might categorise one recipe as Sides, Air Fryer, and Dinner Party, for example.

I love Paprika as well. I have entered all my own recipes and I love that it is so easy to download a recipe from the internet. I like having photos as well.
The other thing I like is that the ingredients stay in place on the left hand side of my tablet while I can scroll through the instructions on the right.
I haven't tried the meal planner part, but I should give it a try.
I have used this app for many years.

I thought you had to pay for Paprika, which is why I never bothered to get it. I just downloaded a free app called Copy Me That on Wednesday, so I haven't had time to really play around in it yet. I'm not sure how it works on Android, but on my iPhone, I click on the Share button when I've opened the recipe, then click on the app button, and it saves the recipe. It gives you the option of what you want to bring in - photo, nutrition info etc. Looking at the app now, you can also create a meal plan, create a shopping list, create collections, share a link to the original recipe. KiwiJo Paprika sounds amazing!! I just had a look in the App Store, and there is one called Paprika Recipe Manager 3. Would that be the one? There is another app called Paprika, but that is a finance app. The recipe manager one says it's AUD$7.99. Would that be a once off?

AussieMeg - yes, that’s the one, Paprika Recipe Manager 3. I was going to say that the cost is a one-off, but I looked at their website and it seems there was a cost to transfer from the original app to the #3 version which I must have forgotten about. The intention is that there might/will be a charge if they do a whole new re-write (as when #3 was created), but that is certainly very rare indeed. See hereI remember changing to the Paprika 3 and that was apparently 7 years ago! You don’t have to pay twice to install the app on an iPhone and iPad, or an Android phone and tablet; but you have to pay for separate versions to have iOS, Android, and Windows if you have different devices and want to sync. Here’s their website , and the FAQs are under the Support tab Paprika app’s website

I didn’t even know I needed this app and now I do! I searched the App Store and it is 4.99usd. Is that a one time cost or is there a monthly/yearly fee to subscribe? Thanks!!

It's a one time cost per type of device. For example it's transferred to two new phones without my having to buy it again. It usually goes on sale, 50% off I think, around Black Friday if you are willing to wait.

So I bought the Paprika app on Saturday, after reading this thread, and I am loving it!! I deleted the other app that I had downloaded a few days earlier, because Paprika is so much better. (The other one was free.) It cost me $7.99 AUD, and I thought that I might buy it again for my MacBook. I was a bit shocked to see that the Mac version is $49 AUD! I'll just stick with the iOS version on my phone for now. I do have a question about it: Are you able to save a recipe in JPG or DOCX or PDF form? There are quite a few recipes that I would like to save from cookbooks, that are not on-line. Also, I have a ton of recipes from Facebook and Instagram that are not able to be saved in the normal way. I will have to copy and paste them into a word doc or PDF and then (hopefully) upload them.

In Settings, there's an Import Recipes option you could try. I just tried it quickly with a JPG but it didn't work but I bet it'll work with a more text based file format.
You can save photos of recipes and I've taken advantage of that for anything I can't cut and paste. I create a new blank recipe, give it a title, add the photo or screenshot of the recipe, then add a note to the Description section to check the photos. To add a new blank recipe, I tap the plus sign in the Recipes section of the app. I much prefer to cut and paste into a new blank recipe if I'm able to if the Download button in the Browser section doesn't work for whatever recipe. You can manually add a recipe from the Browser section too, but sometime I'm copying a recipe from e-mail which I don't use a browser to access.

Yep, I paid about 3 times the mobile price for my lap top one but it’s sort of paid for itself over the years. I save recipes from FB but maybe not how you are asking. On my phone I click a FB link to a recipe, then on the page that’s opened I go to the 3 dots at the top right hand side and click open in external browser, then when that page is open I click the download icon at the bottom of my phone, then scroll to the Paprika icon, click it and save the recipe from the top right. Is that what you were wanting to do or am I talking out of the back of my head? Not sure about other formats, I just type other recipes in and upload a photo.

Another vote for Paprika. I’ve got my 2 college kids using it as well. It’s great because we can easily share recipes with each other through the app & a text.

I also use Paprika. Highly recommend. We use for meal planning and grocery lists in addition to d/l and organizing recipes. I like that it quickly syncs across multiple devices on multiple platforms. I'm a Mac user and DW uses Windows. No issues syncing between us.
