linkIt happens both ways. The link is for a story about a Democratic leader stealing and destroying all the Trump signs he could find. For those who can't get the link to work (and it may not as it's been forever since I've tried to do one) here's the story: A local Democratic Party chair in North Carolina resigned this week after he was arrested for allegedly ripping out and stealing roadside signs supporting former President Donald Trump."Lowell Simon, the now former chair of the Moore County Democratic Party, who is also running for North Carolina House in November, was charged with two counts of misdemeanor larceny of political signs. The Moore County Democratic Party announced in a Facebook post on Monday that 68-year-old Simon had resigned as chair "following recent allegations and arrest related to the theft of political signs." The Moore County Sheriff's Office said a deputy working in the West End area observed Simon removing campaign signs from the roadside along Seven Lakes Drive at approximately 5:25 p.m. Thursday. "The deputy, who was responding to an unrelated call at the time, later followed up at Simon’s residence, where the signs were found in his vehicle," according to the office. "Simon admitted to removing the signs, which were then recovered and returned to their original owner."

Stealing signs or any other items is illegal and should be punished as such!!

Our DD bought 2 Harris/Walz signs, one for her yard and one for ours. Hers has been stolen, ours is still standing. I am just waiting for some Trumpy to come burn our house down in the night!

I think I remember The Bloggess posting that her Harris sign kept disappearing so she made a sign to put by her sign that said something about donating $50 to Planned Parenthood every time the Harris sign is stolen:)

I was thinking just today that it could be therapeutic to take a photo with my phone of every Trump sign I see and digitally deface it in my photos app. Then delete it. It would get my aggression out without physically damaging the person’s sign.

I so dearly want to paintball Trump/Vance signs but I won’t. Yet I’m afraid to put a Harris/Walz sign in my window because of vandalism. I keep saying this, don't have a paintball gun though. |

I have heard a few Trump signs have been taken, but around here it is mostly Harris-Walz and the blue dot. We have a big blue dot movement in Nebraska because we can split our electoral votes. The Blue Dot is making MAGA lose their minds. They are putting up red dot signs not understanding what the blue dot means. I have a blue dot sign. It has been safe. No signs in our neighborhood have been stolen yet. It makes me happy that there are 3 houses across from the school where I teach that have Harris signs. This is a super conservative suburban area.

A lot of the sign theft is teenagers. That's kind of what I'm guessing happened here. I bought two more signs so I'll put them out this weekend. I love the idea of putting a sign up with the note mentioned before that for every sign stolen, a donation would be made to Planned Parenthood! |

I have had the privilege of not seeing any Trump signs in my neighborhood (our county is about 50/50 democrat/ republican) until this morning. A house on the walk to DS school put one up. I already knew they were Trumpers from the various other signs they have up, but now there is no doubt. Of all the signs, it's the only one not along a hedge and visible from their front porch so I did not rip it out of the ground but it's tempting... maybe some high schoolers will steal it and save me from having to look at it for the next two and a half weeks...
There are two or three Harris/Walz signs in my neighborhood.

MAGA no longer believes in the laws they don't like. they just do what they want.
Every single violation of our HOA rules has been by Trump supporters. The rules are clear and consistent with our State law (regulating size and timing of signs.)
No Biden signs because MAGA people have stolen them. You win MAGA. Happy?

I’ve seen more and more Harris/Walz signs and other down ballot Democrat signs popping up in my neighborhood which feels encouraging to me. But in recent days I have also seen a few signs for TFG showing up too.
The really interesting thing is how the local guy (R) who ran for a house seat and won two years ago isn’t running for that seat again. He’s running for a different nonpartisan position. DH ran into him and asked why he wasn’t running for re-election and he basically said the house is a joke. I’m pretty sure he feels that way because we currently have an all Democratic majority so they have been doing everything they can to push whatever they can through while they can. When things have been split nothing at all gets done.

There are none for either candidate in our suburb. The only signs right now are for a city council member runoff. Thats how it's been in my neighborhood. Maybe a Kamala sign or two, but most are local signs for Propositions and City Council. Edit: DH says he's seen two Trump signs at the entrances of our neighborhood this weekend. One on each entrance. He said there is a Cruz sign at both as well now. |

General sign comments: Sadly (IMO) I have seen more Trump signs being hauled out again as we get closer to the election. I travel a section here in my state from my left leaning county to the more right leaning areas on my way to our camp. I saw many more Trump signs that went up just in the last few weekends of going back and forth. The Trump signs seem to be these monstrosities that are nailed up high or on poles, kind of like the big flags on the backs of trucks. All the Harris/Walz signs seem to be the little stick in the ground ones…prime for taking.
For the sign stealers, while it is done by both it seems that those that do it more know how it is done (by doing?) and learned how to protect their signs by making them not easily accessible…I.e Huge and nailed up high. 😄

Well, I was sick all weekend and didn't get the signs up but they will be going up today. Early voting starts today so we're down to the wire. It will be interesting to see if the signs make it.

But the people with the Trump signs are putting up these giant shrines to their orange god. Multiple large signs, multiple flags, etc. It’s insanity. I feel the need to update and say that I tried out taking a pic of a neighbor’s Trump sign and digitally defacing it. I highly recommend! It’s cathartic, LOL. I kind of wish I would have saved the original photo so I could do it repeatedly, with different slurs so I could choose which ones I like best. Now I just kind of smile every time I drive past their sign, knowing how it *could* look if I had my way! 🤣 |

My Trump sign therapy is to pretend to shoot them with a paint ball gun and the fun art I could make. I have been doing this since 2016, so it is hard to stop now. We get through the best we can. 😉 😄
