It is already a once in a while kind of thing for me, so I don't see that changing. It helps that I am not a coffee drinker. I get a refresher drink or a chai latte sometimes.

I live in Seattle and in a lot of situations it is the best or only option. I don’t buy a huge amount of coffee out, but probably once or maybe twice a week, and probably half the time that’s Starbucks, particularly because there is one right next to my office.
My only real complaint about Starbucks is that in the afternoon I often want tea, but they are terrible at tea. I have a little electric kettle in my office now, but it’s a hassle.

I love Dutch Bros. The team members are always friendly and I love how casual it is. The coffee is great, too. I don't live near a Dutch Bros, but it's a must-stop on road trips. I can't seem to get my coffee order just right there, but I live for their Rebels.

I live in Massachusetts where Dunkin is king. That said, I much prefer Starbucks but only get it 2-3 times a month. I will drink Dunkin iced coffee but it needs mocha syrup and milk to be palatable.

I really can't remember the last time I went to a Starbucks - probably in an airport though.
I'm a brewed black coffee with a splash of whole milk drinker, so really not Starbucks target audience anyway. And I really don't like sweet drinks so that knocks a bunch of their menu out anyway.

It’s amusing to me to see a whole thread of people that say they rarely to never go to Starbucks. I live in the greater Seattle area and you can’t turn around without running into one so plenty of people DO go, just not you all, apparently! For me, I mostly drink coffee at home. When I am out I have a different local coffee place that is my favorite but due to the sheer number of Starbucks, I do go occasionally as they are available and decent enough for me (I am a higher sugar coffee person so with enough “stuff” in it, it works!) I did just have Starbucks Sunday while I was grocery shopping and the price is outrageous- but basically on par for all coffee around here. I don’t even bother with the app/stars anymore since I so rarely go so the rewards won’t change my already limited usage.

I get coffee from Starbucks maybe 4x/year. And I only order a black coffee with cream. I did make the mistake of drinking one at about 5pm one busy, busy day and I was awake until 3am. Won't do that again! So, for the poll, I don't really care about the update since I don't go enough to get any rewards anyway. I do still love the white chocolate peppermint mocha,, but it's waaaay too much sugar so I don't order it any more.

I admit to being a junkie.. but not coffee, yuck.. I love their Chi Tea.. hot or cold. Drinking one now. It's a horrible habit. I try to limit my stops but sometimes I just have to have a drink. I do try to offset it and make my own, but just doesn't taste quite the same.

I like the Kokomos. Yummy.

I rarely go into Starbucks, if I do it’s when I am out and about and I need a little break or the restroom and it’s my only choice. I don’t like their regular coffee so I I have a latte or one of the frozen concoctions.

I think it's just because I've been going to SB for so many years, that I can usually tell if my drink is right simply from the color. It's modified because I don't like them super sweet, and I like strong and can't have dairy. Anywhere else rarely hits the mark.

Well, Seattle is the home of Starbucks, so you are probably swamped with Starbucks locations. lol! But, their sales are declining world-wide due to competition and pricing. Dutch Bros is really starting to expand in this area. We had one for a couple of years. A new one opened this year and I see another being built. And we also have a lot of local places that are popular.

I still enjoy getting Starbucks, but these last few years they've homogenized the interiors and it definitely made it less fun to go. I remember when they didn't all have the same basic setup, same furniture, etc, and it was fun to check out how the Sbux was set up inside, when I traveled somewhere new. I also remember back when you could get your coffee in a real mug, for inside orders.
It's a treat; getting coffee anywhere out of my house is a treat, and not getting coupons or discounts won't make me go less. I am a coffee lover, but not a coffee "connessieur" by any stretch of the imagination, so I can find a drink I enjoy almost anywhere- Starbucks, Biggby, Dunkin, etc.

I go almost daily but can’t take advantage of most of the promos anyway, cause I don’t drink the foo-foo sweetened drinks. I’m a plain latte/plain iced black tea girl. I get freebies accrued from purchases.

I rarely go to Starbucks. If we are on a trip and it is the only available coffee, I get it. I will have a cold foam on occasion. This news will not affect how often I go. I prefer our local coffee shop, but I might go to a coffee shop once a month.

I only go occasionally, I don't pay attention to their promos or how many stars I have.
I've never heard of Dutch Brothers.

I always forget to use the stars and app. I actually just used the appa few days ago to get a refill on my tea.
I don't go as much as I used to.
I make a mean white chocolate mocha at home so I don't crave Starbucks as much as I used to!

The only reason to go to Starbucks is to use the restroom.
I’ve never been a big Starbucks person probably because I don’t drink coffee. But several things over the last few years just makes me not even bother.
1- I don’t like their union busting tactics - pay people decent wages, have fair working practices & they won’t bother unionizing. People really don’t go out of their way to unionize when there are no issues.
2- they only rinse ( and barely at that ) the steam wand $ blender things between orders and I can’t deal with the cross contact of the ingredients I can’t have anymore. So whatever else they do won’t really change my habits, I don’t think I could go there less.

I much prefer Dutch Bros - no bitter aftertaste and more sugar-free options. The only downside is that we only have one in the area and the line is usually super long.
I got my birthday drink from Starbucks, after not going there for nearly a year. The aftertaste was so bad that I doubt I will go back.
(mostly I make mine at home)

Starbucks, like Apple, has excellent marketing and a substandard product.

I do go to a Starbucks quite often because it is the closest place I can get wifi by my daughter's dance studio. I get gift cards a lot because the people in my life know this. My spending habits are not driven at all by the promotions they do or do not offer so that won't matter at all to me.
I did just join the "sip club" at Panera which gets me unlimited drinks for $15 a month and I got the 1st 3 months free. And I am using it probably 3-4 days a week. It is a little further from where my DD dances but when I have the time to drive and make it worth it, I am using it. This might result in less starbucks for me given I am getting what I need to get done with my time at Panera and might just use the previous starbucks time to listen to an audiobook in my car.
I try REALLY hard to not spend just because there is a sale or a promotion because I know that it is all a marketing tactic. Like, at Panera, I KNOW they are counting on me to spend $ when I come to get my "free" drink. I took out $20 for me for the month so I have to pay cash for anything other than my drink so I really have to think about it.

I like SB but don't go very often anymore. If I'm going to get coffee in the morning I prefer to stop at 7 Brew. I usually get a couple of SB gift cards for birthday or Christmas gifts but haven't used them up the past few years. I was surprised by all of the specials over the summer but they never drew me into a store. I do love the convenience of ordering thru the app to pick up in the store.

I’ve been drinking one cup of coffee almost every morning for years and years and years. Years ago, a coworker tried to convince me to drink Starbucks when it first came to my city. I tried. I really tried. It was, without a doubt the most bitter, burnt flavored, truly terrible coffee I’ve ever had in my life. My DD did bring me a hot apple cider-ish type drink one time when she had a 2-for 1 coupon. It was okay, but over-priced.
I love my Keurig and prefer making my own coffee with different coffee creamers. For hot spiced apple cider, we buy cider locally or from Costco and add spices from a packet of instant mulling spices we get at The Fresh Market. So much better and cheaper than any coffee shop. All just a personal preference.

It's not good for me, it's really expensive, and I don't really need it in my life. This is kind of where I got when my kids hit the tween years and expected something every time I stopped for a relatively plain tall non-fat latte. They were into the much more expensive smoothy drinks which blew my budget. I like Starbucks coffee just fine, we buy the beans at Costco regularly and will stop when on a roadtrip but my daily habit disappeared before they went app based for ordering and started points/loyalty campaigns.

I selected I already don't go there, but I do go there on very rare occasions, like if I have a GC or it's the only coffee option where I am when traveling. I went one time on the cruise I just got home from because it was the only option on one of the days when I ate in the main buffet for breakfast and they did not have my creamer available.
I don't really like SB coffee and vastly prefer my own I make at home with freshly ground beans from a local roaster. So this change will not really impact me one way or another. DH doesn't drink coffee either.
