This is why they started incorporating it into Twitter and Instagram. It's going to gather all that additional information and art to use. It is outright theft. |

The definition of plagiarism is "passing off someone else's work as your own". And I don't think AI is a "someone". So I wouldn't call it plagiarism as we've always defined it. Which is why entitled people like the OP cited are trying to sue, saying it wasn't plagiarism. This is splitting hairs a bit for me, but there are enough entitled people with slimy lawyers who will try. That's why schools are adding AI into their honor codes. . Well that makes sense, I didn't think of it that way. I guess I don't know enough -- anything really -- about how AI "learns", and then how it produces what it does. But whatever we call it, it's definitely cheating when a student tries to pass of an AI essay as their own. |
