Just curious about your experience with them if you do. My niece told me to use them for my package to Canada.

Yes I have used them many times. It works great and the rates are good. I've used them for both USPS and UPS.

All they do is sell you a label. You'll still need to get your package scanned in and accepted in your normal way. I have simply given a package to a mail carrier before, yes. But typically I prefer to go in where I can get a receipt right there that shows that they received the package.

I’ve used it without incident. If I have a package to hand off to the mail carrier, I leave a note in my mailbox to come up to the house for it and she does.

What's the value in this? Is it cheaper than the carriers' normal rates?

What's the value in this? Is it cheaper than the carriers' normal rates? Yes. They get bulk rates from USPS and UPS and then sell you an individual label. I ship things to a friend that lives in Las Vegas and I save about $3 vs just buying from the post office. I had a whole box shipped UPS to England a few years ago and it only cost me $35, I couldn't believe how inexpensive that was.

What's the value in this? Is it cheaper than the carriers' normal rates? Much cheaper. PO wanted $42. I shipped it for $14+

What's the value in this? Is it cheaper than the carriers' normal rates? I just sent a box last week. I used the USPS Priority Mail pre-printed Medium Flat Rate box. Price at USPS $18.40 vs Pirate Ship $9.71. I don't know how it works, but it does. I sent the box on Wednesday and it arrived on Friday.

I did recently and I had to pay duties on the package while it was in transit so while I did ship my item for about $30, I had to pay an additional $28 or else UPS wouldn’t release the package. It was a gift so I wasn’t going to make the recipient pay, but it also wasn’t communicated to me during the pirate ship checkout process. This was to Canada.

I just used Pirateship to ship packages to a couple of Peas in the Buy / Sell / Trade forum. They both got their packages! YAY!
I'm so new to Pirateship that I'm not sure how to do delivery confirmation with them, though. I trust Peas, but I'm not sure I would use Pirateship to send ebay / amazon / etsy packages (or whatever other platforms there are now) without having a better understanding of how to check on delivery confirmation.

It's been since last December since I shipped to a customer, but I received a tracking number that I forwarded on to the customer.

If you go to your reports tab there is a list of all the labels you printed and the tracking info. Its included in every package! They run corporate rates so it's cheaper and it's easy to just jump on the usps or ups site and schedule them to come pick it up. I'll have to look up current numbers but the last time I looked I had spent over 50k in shipping with pirate ship with no issues.
