Happy Wednesday, Oct. 16 scrapmaven I wish it was the 19th. Tearisci Happy Birthday!!! Enjoy your day off work! It is a beautiful sunny day here. I took a 3 mile walk in 40 degree temperatures. It was invigorating. Just what I needed to clear my head. My parents are off doing something. I am headed to one of my offices in a different town. I will spend a few hours there then I have some errands to run. I am meeting DH at the nursing home to visit MIL. I have to get this off my chest before I lose my mind. When we got home Sunday, my parents said they would love to see all my kids and grandkids while they were here. Everyone could make it Thursday night so that was the plan. Monday, I get home and my mom tells me they are getting together with friends Thursday night for dinner. I told her that was the night the kids were coming over but I would change it to Wednesday. DH texts me last night when I was teaching class that he overheard my mom calling her friend and telling her they needed to change their dinner plans to Wednesday because I was having dinner here Thursday. So, last night our family dinner was changed back to Thursday. I asked her this morning what time they were meeting their friends tonight. She looks at me and tells me it is Thursday because the kids are coming over here tonight. At this point I have absolutely no clue what is going on...I left my dad in charge of figuring it out. So, I can't tell you what we are doing for dinner tonight.

I am off to exercise class.. got my new iphone going last night.. now I have to resign into all the apps and that is driving me nuts. tonight, I will get dh's help on my new applecard.
I did need his help last night on the phone. next week, I will get my kid switched over to my phone and her phone is going to new zealand for her sister to use... it is. hard to send a phone through the mail overseas.
raining and thick fog this morning. I have no idea for dinner other than salad. I would do take out but being gone all weekend.. I feel like I should make something at home today. I also need to make cookies to take to my sister this weekend.
maybe chicken curry tonight. I'm trying to decide on what to wear to my high school reunion. it is going to be cold and rainy in seattle.. so it is a war between a look and being warm!! no one really cares anyway.. 50th reunion. I know at least one famous member of the class is coming.. I wish a couple other famous people would come.. cause I knew them in school but we will see. I mostly hang out with the grade school group!! my class was 650 people. one guy is biking from boston (he bikes across america every summer) and it looks like he will arrive on time..

ntsf which iphone did you get? I need a new one but can't decide which one to get. That is a large graduating class for 50 years ago. Sounds like it will be a fun group.

Have a great getaway scrapmaven!! Happy birthday Tearisci! sueg today is the the day for the vegetarian freezer prep video. It will easy enough for me. It's at 12:00pm my time. I am CST zone. As I type it is 11:01am. I'm looking forward to watching her put them together and then get the recipes and all. I'll then be able to figure out what I want to try. stormsts whew, I am so sorry. There's not a memory/mental thing going on is there? That's seems to be a lot of switching back and forth and what have you. Hopefully, it straightens itself out. ntsf yay for a new phone! Your chicken curry sounds yummy. Good luck on picking out something wonderful for the reunion! Wow!! Can I just say my dinner last night was fabulous! Sweet potato/black bean tacos with an avocado crema was just out of the park goodness. I am having the same stuff but in a lavash wrap today. It will most likely be a late lunch. Tonight is choir and I don't go home in between times. So with that, I don't have dinner plans tonight.

naby64 we are not sure if it is all a hearing issue or a combination of that and memory. She refuses to wear her hearing aides. It is wearing my dad down. That is just one example. When I went to SC last week, my youngest brother was there as well. He couldn't believe how much she has changed since he saw her last year. My dad has been very reluctant to move back but I think he has finally agreed because of her issues. I asked her to call my other brother and see if they could spend the night with his family Friday night then he take them to the airport Saturday. She calls him and asks if they are free for dinner Friday. When she got off the phone I asked her why she didn't bring up spending the night. She swore up and down she did ask. I had to call my brother and he confirmed she did not ask. I am really worried about her mental state.

Thank you for the birthday wishes! Very kind and thoughtful I've been up since 4:30 as I feel like I'm catching a cold, ugh. it could also be because a cold front came through and it's blowing all sorts of crap around. My chest is burning and my nose is twitchy so I'm hoping it's just allergies. I don't seem to normally have them but who knows! I went to breakfast with my parents and my cousins that are in town. Getting my parents anywhere is a big production with their walkers and my mom's oxygen. Luckily I met them at the restaurant as my cousins had picked them up. Best birthday present: Trader Joes opened around the corner from me today so of course, I had to stop. Their pre-packaged meals are just right for me and my parents so I picked up some of those. I love that store so much it will be dangerous to have it so close! Everyone is going to Bingo tonight at our Tex Mex place but I got a steak at TJs and I think I'm going to just stay in. I plan on catching up with Love is Blind and playing my video games today. Hope you all have a great day!

Tearisci - happy birthday! naby64 - let me know how you like the vegetarian recipes. It’s been a crazy here since the weekend so I forgot to sign up for it. Today has been busy, but fun. It is DH’s birthday, but he’s been in The Netherlands and not home until later this evening - too late for a nice dinner together. I went to the supermarket this morning and just before I got to the checkout, DS called so the girls could say Happy Birthday to their FarFar. I am sure everyone near me enjoyed their rendition of Happy Birthday! After I came home, I baked cookies. Tradition here is to bring cake or something to work on your birthday, so DH will take them into the office tomorrow. There are about 120 of them, if I counted correctly! I’ve also had a bit of knitting time. I also chatted with my friend. After all the meetings and court hearings, her daughter’s advisor has written a report saying she recommends No Contact between the guild and her father, though says he can write to her. She also wrote some things about both my friend and her ex that friend took negatively at first, but I think now realises we’re possibly not meant that way. Yes, she has issues with the past, but anyone who was abused by her father and husband would. And yes, she gets emotional, but she’s trying to protect her child from abuse and gets emotional when her child’s safety is at stake. Dinner tonight for me was Cevapcici in pita bread with salad. I meant to buy hummus at the store but forgot it unfortunately . DH will have the last of the Indian takeout when he gets home.

Happy Birthday Tearisci ! And happy birthday to your DH sueg ! stormsts big hugs. It was raining this morning but I went to AquaFit anyway. Two weeks ago today there were 47 in the pool. Today there were 17! But we had a great workout and half of us got in the hot tub afterwards. Dinner will be Sloppy Joe's. My 4-day crop is a week from tomorrow and I am so where near ready so I need to speed it up.

Happy birthday Tearisci and Mr sueg! It’s a cold rainy day here. Grandboy #1 had another cross country meet today but I opted to stay home because it was raining. They go rain or shine but it isn’t much fun for the spectators when it’s raining. Been doing lots of reading today but hoping to go for a walk with my bestie tonight. I haven’t seen her since our cruise because her daughter is home from Halifax. Supper will be rechauffe pulled pork fries for me and Hamburger Helper for DH.

Happy birthday to Tearisci and to your DH suegI've been reading but usually too late to really comment. I'm sitting at the vet waiting for my pup as he gets his allergy shot and nails done. It's been a very busy morning. Loving the cool weather. Tonight is tostadas.

That is crazy how many Aqua-fitters bailed on class!! Tearisci enjoy your day doing what you love! stormsts sorry to hear about your mom and her confusion. It can be maddening but maybe there is something going on with her cognitive abilities. My mil was so scattered in her thoughts in the beginning before we really knew what was going on. ntsf what famous people did you go to school with? Enquiring minds want to know!! Dinner tonight is undecided at this point.

sueg I watched and some of the meals looks very good. There were a couple at the end, that I felt like should not have even been included. One was for Garlic chili ramen. All she did was put all the sauce in a bag. To freeze. The other thing was premade Date Nut energy balls. No. To both of those. I can put the sauce together while the ramen cooks. I just make a bag of the balls but I am not considering that a pre-made meal. I am waiting on my email from the class that will include the actual recipes and labels. This class will most likely be on her website soon. As of this typing, it is not up yet. I went to her website and there is a vegetarian class. I did register for that. There were several options for today, so at 5pm I'll do that one. The thing about her classes, the free ones, you will have several dates with multiple times listed. You just choose what works best for you. Once I get the email for this newest one, if you are interested, I can send it to you. The email will have the recipes and most likely a link to the YT video that you can watch at your leisure. Just let me know. I plan on sending it to my kids and let them make changes to any that would suit them better.

bc2ca, I didn't want to bump yesterday's thread but wanted to say how awesome that you only have to deal with 1 drop 3 times a day! I had to make an excel spreadsheet for DH because he had 3 different drops. Then he had his second eye done so the drops were going on at the same time but on a different schedule! My eyes aren't that bad but I can have cataract surgery whenever I want ~ just have to schedule it.

I will get my kid switched over to my phone and her phone is going to new zealand for her sister to use... it is. hard to send a phone through the mail overseas. Is it worth waiting to take with you to NZ, or is the trip too far out or you don't want to deal with "importing" the phone in person? All questions none of my business of course, just being snoopy. Sending birthday wishes to Tearisci and mr. sueg! I'm glad you were able to give your friend a different perspective on the report, sueg. Emotion is to be expected in these cases and recommending no contact is a big win. I hope the court approves it. stormsts, sadly this kind of half remembering things right is very much what we saw in the early dementia stages with my mom. My schedule is weirdly empty with no yoga for a couple weeks. I will do some things at home, but can't bend my head and elevate the heart rate too much until the eye is healed. Everything looks great (literally ) and I can drive, so it is just slightly annoying to have restrictions. I have a happy hour zoom so dinner will be a fend for yourself night.

My eyes aren't that bad but I can have cataract surgery whenever I want ~ just have to schedule it. In 2022 I had a significant surgery on my left eye followed by cataract surgery six months later, and was so over the drops regimes and what I called my wet eye. When offered the option of the 3-in-1 drop I couldn't say yes please fast enough! I asked my doctor if it was a new protocol to leave without the eye covered and he laughed. Said there is no reason to cover the eye and he only does it if he is concerned about a groggy patient and/or that they won't leave their eye alone and/or they might forget to put on the shield at night. He knows a lot of doctors feel even if it isn't medically necessary, it is a good visual reminder to the patient and their family that the eye is healing.

Happy Birthday to Tearisci and to MR sueg🥳🥳🥳🥳
I am just back from my walk....it is a bit nippy out there...was the coldest morning this am, and my heat kicked on...I set the thermostat on 60 degrees the other day, Glad I did!!
Dinner is everything that is leftover that is in the fridge...there are chicken thighs, white chicken chili, eggroll in a bowl and tons of roasted veggies....I can't stand having all that clutter in the fridge...anything left may end up in the compost bin.

to send a phone to new zealand, you basically have to lie.. you can't send the phone with batteries through the usual ways. technology is super expensive along with everything else there.. so we buy stuff here and take it there. I am going there at the end of Nov.
I got a iphone 16 pro.. not max. I don't want one that big. so I have to go through all the apps and re-sign in or reset passwords, etc.
I went to a big comprehensive high school-- famous: Al from Home Improvement tv show (Richard Karn.. real name Rick wilson). we were in grade school together. David Guterson.. wrote Snow falling on Cedars. I really like his latest book "The Final Case". Lynda Barry.. she is a cartoonist.. had a regular gig in a national magazine, is now a professor in Wisconsin (that was pretty unexpected in high school). we were on the literary magazine together. 10% of our class became lawyers. one guy became a computer science professor, one of my friends was a philosophy professor..and one of my grade school through high school classmates.. we were told as kids that he was a tibetan prince. I knew about tibet and nepal cause my dad was in to climbing and knew the guys who went to Everest and K2... and it turns out my classmate is a Tibetan prince, lives in India and is a spiritual leader in his culture. always a nice guy.
so will report on my fun.

Happy birthday Tearisci ! I hope your day is fabulous. And happy birthday to Mr sueg as well. I'm sure you would have celebrated with an amazing dinner somewhere, had he not been gallivanting around Europe. I was going to have a simple dinner of toasted cheese sandwiches, but then DSO remembered that he had chicken wings that he had take out of the freezer a few days ago, so we ended up having them. I had been having a weird craving for a Vegemite sandwich all day at work, so I only had 4 wings, then made myself a Vegemite sandwich as well. I got a iphone 16 pro.. not max. I don't want one that big. so I have to go through all the apps and re-sign in or reset passwords, etc. I had a 12 Pro Max, and when I decided to upgrade to the 15, I wanted to go down in size - the Pro Max is great for watching Netflix on etc, but just a bit too big to hold comfortably - even with my man hands haha! But the 15 Pro Max was the only model that had 5x optical zoom (the other models only had 3x) and that was a very important feature for me. So I ended up with the Pro Max again.

And happy birthday to Mr sueg as well. I'm sure you would have celebrated with an amazing dinner somewhere, had he not been gallivanting around Europe. We will celebrate a little late on Saturday evening, at one of our favourite restaurants - Spice Bazaar. I have mentioned it before - it's the one where we had the delicious Berbere chicken last time we visited.

I'm glad you were able to give your friend a different perspective on the report, sueg. Emotion is to be expected in these cases and recommending no contact is a big win. I hope the court approves it. That's pretty much what I told her. I also pointed out that the comment that they made about the ex was that 'he shows no empathy', and that it is far better (and more normal) to be emotional about your child's safety than to be a sociopath. Friend's lawyer is confident about the no contact - she said after the interview with the daughter, there really wasn't any other way to go. Ex will likely be able to write to the daughter, but - as she's only 9 - my friend will have control over the mail for a few years yet.
