I wish we could just fast forward and get to the results, but I am shocked at the numbers coming out of Georgia. www.cnn.com/2024/10/15/politics/early-voting-record-georgia/index.htmlIt is amazing and wonderful to see so many voters I just hope to God they're voting blue. I know popular theory is is that early voting skews Democrat but it's really hard to be hopeful. I know Trump has been pushing people to vote early of course he's also been pushing people to vote in January... And I will say hell might have frozen over I actually agree with something Trump said. He said we had a great election in 2020 and that it was a much better election than we had in 2016. Let's hope 2024 is a landslide for Harris. I am curious how many of you live in states where you vote by mail early. How many of you can go in person to vote early? How many of you have to wait until election day to go vote? |

WA votes by mail. Our ballots are supposed to be here the 18th or mailed then- not sure. But I’ll vote as soon as I receive mine. I didnt think WA could vote in person but then I learned there are a few places where you can. We’ve voted by mail for years now.

I will say that I have always voted in person before (aside from when COVID interfered), and I planned to do so again, but I really feel like my state is pushing for people to mail in a ballot early instead. DH & I, along with our adult child have all received multiple physical pieces of mail asking us if we wanted to apply for mail in ballots, giving us multiple ways to do so. And after the first few physical mail items arrives, we all started getting emails as well. So I just recently gave in and applied online for the mail in ballot mostly in hopes of them ceasing with all of the darn mail.  I still don't care whether I mail it in or go in person, although I suppose there always exists the chance of an emergency interfering with voting on election day, and mailing in the ballot would eliminate that slight possibility. |

Colorado is early voting by mail and has been doing it since 2013. I hated voting after work. It was dark, cold, long lines and a not so nice area for me. Love to get my ballot, pull out my voting book and take my time. No worrying about getting back to my vehicle safely. I got my ballot last week and my explanation of all of the issues booklet maybe a week or two prior. I get a notification when they receive my ballot (usually 4-24 hours after putting it in the voting mailbox) and then in another day or so it lets me know it was counted.

I am curious how many of you live in states where you vote by mail early. How many of you can go in person to vote early? How many of you have to wait until election day to go vote? California has their ballots out, so we can mail them in now. As for in-person, it depends on the location. If you go to the Registrar's office in San Diego, you can vote in-person now. Other locations don't open up for early in-person voting until either the week of Oct. 26th or Nov. 2nd. There are also drop boxes available now at many locations. We drop off our ballots the weekend before. |

Ohhhh, I am in a red state. And as we all know, the only safe way to vote is in person. No mail-in ballots here.  However, we do have early voting at the county courthouse. We do have absentee ballots that are allowed to be mail-ins. Our early voting begins the 21st. I don't think I have ever done early voting. My town and precinct has never been so busy that the "day of" voting was more than a 30-45 minute wait. I enjoy doing the day of. |

DH and I usually go together.
I wouldn't necessarily expect that GA early voters are Dems, though we can hope. I keep getting texts and calls and mail from "Donald Trump" telling me to get out there and vote early, let's make it a landslide.

Maybe, fingers crossed, Georgians agree with these 2 gentlemen that Jan 6 was disqualifying Jan 6Kamala’s Wins @harris_wins BREAKING: CNN’s Elle Reeve just did some interviews in rural Georgia where 90% of the county’s voters vote Republican. The answers Elle received will shock you. |

We normally vote day of. However, dd is 1 hr away at school and can't come home on election day. This is her first time voting and we want to go with her. She is coming home this weekend and we'll go Saturday morning.

Does it cut down on the mailers too?? Yes, they stop sending mailers if you voted (I'm in Washington) unless you have someone else in the house who doesn't vote until the last second. I think I'm going to start piling the mailers on DH desk with sticky notes above the candidates faces saying "if you'd vote I'd stop filling your mailbox." |

Thank you. That was interesting. This NY Times article needs updating. Connecticut finally allowed early voting starting in 2022. I'm voting on the 21st--the first day early voting is allowed. |

Early voting in Texas begins on October 21st
DH and I plan to vote on the 21st. When I finish my job for the day at 3, I will pass the voting location and can see how crowded it is. If possible we will vote on the 21st. If the line is real long, we will go on the morning of the 22nd.
I am not sure on the mail in ballots as I have never trusted the postal system to get the ballots delivered on time.

Early in person voting starts tomorrow in NC. You can register to vote at polling places for early voting. You can not register on election day.

I live in GA & voted yesterday (Oct 15). Were I went & the time I went, only took me 20 minutes from start to finish. But other places had an hour or 2 wait. It felt so good to go ahead & vote!

In past elections, I've voted day of. This time, I'll be voting early, on a weekend when my dh is home (he travels for work Mon-Fri) since I have a 2 year old I don't feel like trying to wrangle the day of with the hours-long lines. Early voting here in SC starts on the 21st so likely that following weekend is when we'll both go and get it taken care of. A blue dot in a very red state, but we're doing our part.

I always vote early in person. It starts on Monday the 21st. I probably won’t go the first day but I will definitely do early voting again. We have a lot of voting places in the county and for early voting you can go to any of them. My small city announced we’re going to have a voting place here this year but I will probably still go to my usual one.
