I just read he fell from a hotel balcony in Argentina. Wow, just wow.
He was a member of One Direction and had been on holiday with his girlfriend.

How sad. I have read that he had been acting erratically earlier in the day - I wonder if drugs/alcohol was involved. In the past he has dealt with alcoholism and suicide ideation, along with mental health issues.
Edited to add: DS1 just told me that Liam had been in rehab last year and had announced he was 6 months sober, so maybe it was just an accident?

My daughters were huge One Direction fans so I listened to them in the car a lot. We took them to a concert during their last tour. So unfortunate.

The BBC is reporting police were called to the hotel where a man was acting aggressively and may have been under the influence of drugs and alcohol. Then they heard a loud sound in the inner courtyard and his body was found.
Poor guy. Poor Bear.

My DD said he had gotten a lot of plastic surgery recently. I wondered if he was high and hooked on pain killers and jumped. There are pictures showing how he destroyed the room and a transcript where the hotel was asked to check on a man out of control.

This saddens me so much ... we made visiting Seattle part of our Summer vacation one year simply to see One Direction because dd#1 was (and still kind of is) obsessed with the group. We had floor seats in the huuuuuge stadium that has an open roof ... you don't see that here in Calgary!  The place was sold out and the energy was electric ... They were really great and I am so glad we went  Now there can never be a reunion tour or anything which really sucks.  Liam had a long history of issues with substances and mental health ... what a terrible way to die.  |

So very sad. My youngest daughter was a huge One Direction fan. Saw them in concert several times. (I have Harry and Louis cutouts in my classroom.)
