I hate dressing in costume. My neighbor is having a costume party and we said we’d go but ugh - costumes.
Is there anything fairly easy we can do?
Alternately I may be bugging out on this party.

Are you planning on making or buying costumes? My first thought was ketchup and mustard. Priest and nun. Cat and mouse.

Considering what's going on right now, a Harris and Trump costume would be fun. But you know, then one of you would have to dress like Trump.

Salt and Pepper. White t-shirt with a big S on it, black t-shirt with a P. If you want to get fancy, get white/black hats and put dots on them for shaker holes.
Hope it ends up being a great time for you!

I’m planning to be a witch: black mini skirt, purple and black striped tight, black top, witches hat. My partner will be a warlock. Pretty easy to get everything on Amazon.

DH and I went as Rossi & Garcia from Criminal Minds one year. He was easy - suit, tie, fake FBI tag I made. I got a blonde wig and super fun sunglasses I took the lenses out of, and found a cute sweater at a thrift shop that clashed with my black & white polka dot dress, fake FBI tag. Quite a few recognized us.
I tend to go all out for our couple costumes though. We've done Rhett & Scarlette, Snape & McGonagall, Indiana Jones & Lara Croft (back when I was skinny lol).

I always thought it would be fun to dress up as Al and Peg Bundy.

We are going as bicycle cards King and Queen since we play a lot of cards. I ordered these off Amazon, but you could use a pillowcase and make your own.

The last time we dressed up as a couple, I was pregnant and I went as a pregnant nun and DH was a Priest (playing off our last name Priest).

One that would be really comfy and EASY ....
Mr and Mrs. Roper from Three's Company.
Costumes could come from a vintage thrift store, for sure!

Not a fan of costumes either- too hard to come up with something and then execute it. One year, we were part of a group costume- I was Glinda the good witch and my 6ft tall dh was a munchkin. Another year we were Jack z Skellington and Sally. Last year, we decided to be deer, wearing our reindeer onesies that I got us for Christmas a couple years ago- it was unseasonably warm the night of the party and we basically had the hoods off and the costumes unzipped down the front. 😂

DH will not dress up if it's complicated. I have been able to keep it pretty simple for the last few years.
-Jack & Coke. He had a t-shirt I had made and I wore a t-shirt that said Coca Cola. Plus side, we still wear the shirts. -Corona and a lime. Bought him a Corona t-shirt (at Kohls). I wore a green and white shirt with a white cardigan.
-Fireball and Rumchata (makes a Cinnamon Toast Crunch). Bought the fireball shirt at Kohls and made the RumChata shirt.
One year he as Chip and I was Joanna. Wasn't an obvious one but we could say we are Chip and Joanna if anyone asked.
Next week we are doing Halloween Trivia at a local place. Our group is doing The Addams Family. DH will be Lurch. He has a tuxedo t-shirt that he'll wear. I'm going as Morticia.

Do you have a Spirit Halloween store in your area? They usually have tons of options and many of them are pretty affordable. My kid went there last year, they usually have pop up locations in empty mall store spaces for the 4-6 weeks before Halloween. They have a whole category just for couples costumes. www.spirithalloween.com/

If it's an adults only party, a friend and her DH did a good one a few years ago. She went as a Hershey Bar. He went as a Hershey Bar with nuts.

The last time we did couple costumes, our son had dressed as Puss-in-Boots. It was an adult party, so he wasn't there, but we went as Puss-in-Boots parents. We just wore clothes and added tails and ears and some makeup.

I was Aunt Bethany and my husband was Uncle Lewis one year.
Another year he was cousin Eddie with the bathrobe (sh*tter’s full) and I wore Aunt Bethany again. This time I added carrying a box wrapped with blue happy birthday wrapping paper with a cat tail hanging out. I made a lime jello mold with several extra packets of gelatin added (like Knox jello jigglers) so it would stay firm, unmolded it on a plastic platter from dollar store, added cat friskies on top.
My husband so wanted to be cousin Eddie with the white shoes, white v-neck sweater with the black turtleneck dickie showing, but we couldn’t pull it off in time.
