Temu is my stress go to.. at least it is cheap and useful (junk journaling stuff) Me too. Washi tape, stickers, etc. But yes, it’s a whole lot cheaper than other retail outlets!

Usually I don't, but last week I had a 7/9 groups that really struggled to listen/sit for 15 minutes/not touch each other/not whine/and a few were unusually defiant. Not the norm. When I looked at my phone, I knew my screen protector had cracked since my case was not staying put around my phone. I needed a new case and protector. Probably close to $150. My phone is 3 years old. Got home and told my husband I was just going to get a new phone. No discussion, no trying to solve my problem other than spending $. He said he'd get one too. Ha. So, yeah, last week I did!

I’m more of a stress window shopper, LOL. I like to put things on my Amazon wish list that will never get bought. Stress eating though? I’ve got that one down. If it’s sugary or salty (or both!) I’m all in. We’ve had a friend staying with us recuperating after a heart attack so I haven’t wanted to snack a lot in front of her (she’s also recently diagnosed type 2 diabetes). Having her here isn’t so much stressful, more like our usual household dynamics have somewhat changed having another person in the house. I just dropped her off for a hour and a half of therapy, came home and ate 1/3 of a bag of Corn Nuts chased with a Little Debbie oatmeal cream pie, LOL. Oooooh I HATE window shopping with a burning passion. LOL

No, shopping stresses me out! I bought a winter jacket and sweater at the beginning of Covid. I hadn’t been in a grocery store in over 40 years until my husband had to quit driving! I realize that I’m weird! 😂

Unfortunately I’m more of a stress eater. I’m pretty good at working through it without eating but it’s definitely my initial desire. I sure wish I was a stress cleaner!

I have always enjoyed retail therapy. But my favorite stores closed, so my shopping has greatly decreased.

Thanks for feeding into my early morning shopping habits - off to see some of these places you all have mentioned! I am both a stress eater and shopper.

My husband used to do this when we first married. He would spend free time reading about new cameras. I think he just felt the need to keep his mind occupied at all times. He would occasionally buy camera equipment and put together systems for different types of photography - but not actually use it much.
He still browses camera equipment but he stopped buying things shortly after we married.

I clean when I’m stressed. It makes me feel like I’m in control of something.

What did you get from Archer & Olive? Bullet or regular journaling? To answer your question, yes, I stress shop. Or, sick shop. The Fibromyalgia is killing me. I was down 4 of 7 days last week. Elrohir Leather is the main recipient of my shopping, at present. Also bought a couple of Hobonichi planners. To be fair, the 2nd was cheap since it is last year’s edition. I’m more interested in comparing papers. YT has numerous people unboxing from the 2025 release of product. And fountain pens. Bought DH one for Christmas. Bought myself one due to a sweet discount from the Shop app. It’s a whole world I should have never peaked into. Fountain pens require ink. LOL! I have successfully ignored the Washi tape. Though, I will probably need some for the 2025 bullet journals. Mine is a hybrid of sorts. Use mostly A&O. Have one from Notebook Therapy that is in the 2025 line up. I bought a black dot grid notebook with a crow on the front, plus a couple of sticker sheets. I also signed up for the quarterly kit club. I subscribed a few years ago, until I built up a stash. That supply is gone.

I'm trying very hard to not stress eat. That is definitely a go-to response!
I do sometimes clean. I get really stressed by clutter, except for my craft area. I really should tackle that mess.

They have been hitting the right themes in that entire time. If I sub, it will jinx it. When I first found A&O I had watched videos of the kits. There were too many I did not like. Decided no sub and they just keep getting better.

What do you buy, do, or eat when under stress? Yes, I definitely stress shop. For me, I buy food. Lots of shelf stable kinds of things, mostly. Pasta, grains and rice, dried and canned beans. Canned fruits and veggies. Some canned chicken. Building up my pantry against whatever illness or financial hardship might hit our family (both have happened in the past few years, and having a decently stocked pantry was the only thing that got us through). I also stress cook. You can tell I'm really freaking out when I have spaghetti sauce & a hearty stew both bubbling on the stovetop, shredded bbq chicken in the crockpot, and brownies and banana bread in the oven. I've also had panic attacks where I suddenly am sure the kids won't be warm enough, and I go buy them each more sweatshirts and blankets. I guess it's better than buying a bunch of booze and getting sloshed when I'm stressed?

I don't stress shop. I manic shop for craft products. Shocker, I know!
I do stress bake and stress eat. Something homemade and sweet scratches that itch for me.

Stress is usually around money so I don't want to spend any. Stress is usually around money here too, which is why shelf stable foods are what I "allow" myself to spend on. Can't feel bad for frivolous spending if it's not frivolous. I wish I stress cleaned. My cleaning is usually angry cleaning. Cussing to myself about how I'm the only one who magically notices that the vacuum hasn't been run in a week, the bathroom needs a wipedown, there are no towels clean on the shelf, whoever used the stovetop last didn't wipe it afterward, etc. Lately I've had one day off per week, and I'm real freaking tired of using it to do all the errands, and all the cleaning. Yes, me too! Even if it's cold, and nothing is actively growing I go out to check on the rhododendron bush, or add a bit to the compost, or make mental plans for the next summer's veggie garden.

I felt like I never knew when I could get to the store. Then the pandemic hit. I think I am finally past that need.
