Have you tried using a cable machine? When my hands are giving me serious problems, I can’t use kettle or dumbbells. My grip becomes unreliable, not compatible with heavy weights. The cable machine in general is much easier on my joints and I don’t worry about my arthritic hands failing me At the gym, yes, but I haven't been in a while. I am an "at home" exercise person. Getting up, dressing, driving, etc., is NOT for me. Do you have a machine you use at home? Like you, I also exercise at home. Getting ready to go to the gym some days could possibly use up a lot of the energy I have that day. Then I can split up my workouts if need be. I’m lucky to basically have my own mini gym. Treadmill, stationary bike, rowing machine, slide board for aerobics. Free weights, kettle bells and a cable weight machine. We found the weight machine at a store that sells used gym equipment about 8 years ago so it’s a professional one. It was a bit of an investment at $1600 but we use it extensively. Have you tried tubing and/or bands? That may be a good option. I’d also recommend weight lifting gloves to help with grip. Besides the RA and osteoarthritis, I have Sjögren’s syndrome and Raynaud’s disease that also affect my hands. I don’t do any form of lifting without my gloves. Not having to squeeze whatever equipment I’m using really hard means my hands don’t become fatigued or ache to the point of becoming unusable
