Whether you believe abortion should be a thing or not, this part of their filing should outrage everybody: I thought teen births were a bad thing all around? This is absolutely infuriating.

Whether you believe abortion should be a thing or not, this part of their filing should outrage everybody: I thought teen births were a bad thing all around? This is absolutely infuriating. It was always all about the domestic supply of [healthy, white] infants for Christian couples to adopt. Pre-Roe, teenage mothers were the primary suppliers. Out of my 37 first cousins on my mom's side, six were easily adopted in the 50s and 60s from agencies that took in "wayward girls." That doesn't exist any more because it doesn't need to and shouldn't have to. The idea that women and teens exist to bolster population numbers at the expense of their own bodily autonomy is, indeed, outrageous. We have millions of people from other countries clamoring to come here and work and have a part of the American dream that our ancestors immigrated here for 100 or more years ago. A robust guest worker program with a path to citizenship would solve any and all population concerns (and would reduce exploitation of immigrant workers in the bargain), but there's a problem with that according to the right ... they're not white. And, of course, they're supposedly all murderers and rapists, but why let facts get in the way of a good scaremongering narrative.

Exactly, Merge. I’ve been saying the same for years. We have people who are literally dying to come here, who are willing to work really hard to make a better life for themselves and their families. It seems like such a simple solution, let them come just like our ancestors did. Yet some on the right simply can’t handle that concept. And we all know damn well it won’t be the teen daughters of members of Congress or billionaires supplying those infants. SMDH.

Totally crazy. I just saw this on FB and thought what the #%>? This is crazy. This plus new laws to allow children to work in dangerous jobs at an early age. Allowing girls to marry younger.
I totally agree with allowing immigrants in to do these jobs with a path to citizenship. We need to reform our system. Putting the burden on teenagers isn’t fair.

Pre Roe I could name a doctor who helped his friends' daughters out of difficult situations in his office.

When your argument centers on the benefits of inflicting trauma on teenagers, you are the bad guy.
