I am not sure I have 50 posts yet. But I have a question. Do we sign our cards and will the cards we receive be signed? I don't mind giving credit but I usually pass cards on and hope people pass mine on. Obviously I can't pass on signed cards or cards the maker has signed on the back. Thanks!

This is really a "do what you like" card exchange. If you'd prefer not to write a message and/or sign your cards, please feel free not to. If you choose that route you may want to include a post it note or something explaining why it's blank inside. Typically peas will write or stamp a message inside and sign it, spreading December cheer. Hope that helps!

You could easily reuse signed cards by separating the card front from the base and then adhering the front onto a new note card. I do this often.

Once the holiday/season is over and I have enjoyed the cards, I will cut the fronts off and put them on a new card base with a new envelope and package them up for donation (Cards for Soldiers, Card Drives, Senior Centers, etc). I had never thought about doing that until someone mentioned it here!

Hello, Peas- It's mid-October. You know what that means? Time to sign up for the 2Peas holiday card exchange! Last year we ended up with two rounds. I'll cap this first round at 50. If it fills up, I'll open a second round. You're free to join as many rounds as you wish. This exchange will be open for sign up until November 1st or until we get to 50 participants, whichever comes first. I'll get the list sent out over the weekend of November 2nd/3rd or soon after we fill the exchange. Cards are due by the end of December. I've provided a space in the sign up to request the type of greeting you would prefer. This way, we can be aware of and accommodate everyone's situation. Rules (as usual): 1. You may use the name and address that you’re comfortable sharing. PEA name only? OK! First name only? OK! Dog’s/Cat's name? OK! PO Box? OK! The form does require your Pea name in order that we can satisfy the requirement of rule 4. 2. The type of card you send (handmade, store bought, photo, postcard) is entirely up to you. 3. Please send to as many PEAS as you are able to. Please note that you may receive more or less cards than you send out. 4. This exchange is for active members of the board. Therefore, the exchange is restricted to members with at least 50 posts (Junior Member rank) or above. Interested? Here's the link to sign up. 2024 2Peas Holiday Exchange Sign UpNote: If we fill round 1 and open a round 2, as stated above you are free to sign up for both rounds. I send a combined (duplicates removed) list to those of us who sign up for more than one round. Thanks everyone. I'll do my best to answer any qustions you might have. OMG! I didn't see this until now! The link has ended. Are you opening a round 2?

Update 11-3-24:
Hi everyone. We ended up with 49 participants. We didn't meet the 50 participant threshold so I didn't open a round 2. I'm going to be sending out the list later today. If you're still desperate to get in and you happen to see this in time, send me a peamail message in the next couple of hours. I don't want to add another 25, but if someone missed this in the last couple of weeks and wants to participate, there's a small window to join us.
Right now we have 2 participants from Canada, 1 from Australia, 1 from New Zealand, and the rest are USA.

So if you get a card from me REALLY EARLY it's because Canada Post is in strike talks right now. It could mean no mail delivery leading up to the Christmas Holidays. I've decided to do 10 at a time and mail those off. I'm doing a time consuming card design and figured this was the best way to hopefully get them all sent off incase lead to a strike.

The last time they did this, it did lead to a strike right before Christmas. They are still in talks.

Update: Canada Post is now on strike. My husband said if it goes on too long, he will make a trip across the border and mail them for me. So I'm just going to keep making them and getting them ready.

Yup we are officially on strike. My cards are ready to go but I need to wait. My instinct is that while it will go on longer than it would've if there was a majority government, it still won't go on super long. Right now the pressure is on the gov't to not legislate them back... by Dec 1 the pressure will go the opposite way, if they don't have a deal.
