Happy weekend.
I have my knitting class via Zoom this am. It's all about fixing mistakes. I'm very excited to be able to complete a project. After the class I have to focus on my voice practice for a bit. Apart from some chores, it will be an easy day.
What's on your agenda today?
Dinner might be fajitas. Dh really enjoyed the new fajita recipe that I made last week.
What's on your menu?
How are you feeling, Tearisci? I hope that your cold is better.
Wishing everyone a restorative, fun, happy day!

Happy Saturday! Thanks for asking scrapmaven! Unfortunately, it's a bad cold so my sister stocked me up on meds and I'm on the couch binging TV. I was supposed to go to another concert tonight but I'm staying home and hoping to kick this. I'm sure all of the busy-ness of this month took a toll on me and I got rundown. Tonight, I'm having a total comfort food dinner of hamburger steak, mashed potatoes and gravy. Not that I can really taste anything but it's the only thing that sounds good. Hope you all have a great day!

Hi scrapmaven I know you are serious about your singing if it's just not a sing-a-long while you knit. 😂 Someday I will hear your voice. 😉 Well I've heard your voice, but I need to hear it singing. I catch your show at Carnegie Hall. ❤️ I'm quilting. So I tried to do my Halloween quilt just by tying it together. Well it's been in very serious use this Halloween season. By me. But also by two furry friends who will not be named. 🙄 And the ties are coming out. 😵💫 So I'm remembering the encouraging words of austnscrapaddict that she quilts all her throw sized ones on her regular machine. At the time I just thought that was way too hard. But with this one I thought, you know what? I'm going to give it a go. So that's what I'm doing right now. It is going to be 71 today. Yuck! I love fall and this isn't it. But it's a good day for golf. So Jeremy will be going to play this afternoon. Which leaves me all alone to do what I please. 😉 I told him to text me when he's on the 16th hole and I will begin dinner. That potpie will be tonight! I swear. We went out last night because I was so jumpy I needed a margarita. We happened to have tacos too.

Yes Tearisci I can see how that busy-ness would lower your immunity. I said it last night and I'll say it again today, you must be sick to turn down live music. I love concerts so much I'd be heartbroken

DH is playing in a 2-day golf tournament so I slept until 7:30! I will run some errands including a library pick-up and looking for new shoes at REI. Otherwise, I'll continue on my crop prep and watch college football. Dinner will be spaghetti and meatballs. Yikes!

Good evening. Today has been a boring Saturday - shopping, but not much as we're out for dinner tonight and DH is off to Sweden again on Monday, so we don't need much, and football on TV with knitting for me this afternoon.
Tonight we are going to one of our favourite restaurants, Spice Bazaar, to belatedly celebrate DH's birthday. They do Middle Eastern food with a modern twist and every time we've been there it's been so delicious. We are going to try at least one menu item we haven't tried before, and I also told DH I want something with aubergine, as ME cuisine does them so well.

cadoodlebug damn cats. 😂 I love mine but they have their quirks. I have one who likes to sharpen her nails on the baseboard in my bathroom and dining room

I went to grandboy #2’s hockey game this morning. This is his first year of playing hockey and he loves it. His skating has vastly improved. So proud of him.
DH and his buddies are at an ATV rodeo today. There will be drag races and barrel races to compete in. I was going to go watch but it’s hard to know what time he will race. I didn’t want to be gone all day with Walker not feeling well.
Supper will be left over roast beef.

Tearisci, I hope that you feel much better, quickly. Watch stuff you really like and take good, loving care of yourself. Cats are destructo-toys. Though I do my own kitty mani/pedi's. The vet tech showed me how to do it and a few cat treats later it's a done deal. Enjoy quilting jeremysgirl. Enjoy a quiet house and listen to whatever you want to listen to. FORE! That's for Jeremy.

Tonight will be the burgers, fries, etc. Yesterday late afternoon both dh and I began to not feel well from our flu shots. So he had soup and dd and I had baked potatoes.
Excited for ds special choir performances in a few
Then I get to deal with my credit union as we got a fraudulent charge. Ugh 😫

I had a very rare night with 7+ hours of uninterrupted sleep! When I did get up, DH had the slider open and was enjoying the brisk 54F/11C fresh air and had cooled the house to the low 60s. His first words to me were "where are you going?" because I was wearing more than my usual yoga pants and a tank top. Because it was cold. I have a bit of paperwork to complete this weekend and will probably push it to Sunday night because I procrastinate like that. As long as it is ready to go Monday, I'm good. I received 5 $10 checks in the mail from one of my health groups yesterday so will include a stop at the bank when out today. We reached our annual out-of-pocket maximum way back in February but the receptionist at one office gets really nervous if I suggest not paying my copay. I'm intrigued that all the refunds came the same day, were processed as separate checks and no indication of service dates, but happy to see the money. Most of my day is going to be finishing the office purge and working on updating my craft supply inventory. And maybe even get around to making knitting project bags like sueg. Dinner is going to be French onion soup. I picked up the Gruyere yesterday and forgot to tell DH to keep his paws off it. Thankfully he'd only had a small chunk so we have enough to for the gooey, cheesy part.

Ooh I love French onion soup bc2ca! And yeah I need to look at my allergy testing paperwork too. I have a really bad habit (is it bipolar? Is it ADHD?) of not checking my mail for months at a time. Jeremy gets the mail and if it something he thinks is super important he will tell me I've got something important. But otherwise, into the pile it goes.

We were planning taco chicken salads but the avocado refuses to ripen. Hopefully tomorrow. So we went out and I picked up rib eyes to grill. It’s a warmer than usual fall day here so grilling will be a pleasure.
I’m sitting on my couch listening to podcasts and doing jigsaw puzzles on my iPad. I’m willing October to pass without incident. 😕

I ordered a new pair of Brooks shoes from REI because they only carried the white and, since I cook in my shoes, that's a dab of spaghetti sauce just waiting to happen! Something new I learned: I already knew members have a year to return items but I found out if the year is up and the shoes are in decent condition, they will give you a gift card for them. I showed the clerk the bottoms of mine and she agreed no gift card for me. I wear tennis shoes pretty much 24/7 so they get worn in. I also stopped by Ulta and bought a new blush stick. Getting ready to work on my layouts #ButFirst (Big Brother fans will get that) I'm going to make a batch of pralines.

Hello all. I guess I’ve been playing hooky again. *sigh* Life is busy and my natural inclination is to be s.l.o.w. So not much gets done. I picked up my first chicken pot pie of the season at Costco yesterday. That was dinner last night and will be again tonight. I’ll give half of it to my neighbor as she likes it, too, and I can’t eat the whole thing. Also have a chuck roast for tomorrow that was on sale at Raley’s. I swore I wasn’t going to buy one since I’m trying to empty the freezer, but it fell into my cart, anyway. Can’t resist a sale. I’m thinking something in chunks, like beef stew or maybe soup. Last Friday (a week ago) I got my covid and flu shots, both at the same time and in the same arm. Just reporting in, again, absolutely no reaction. Don’t be jealous. I know I have some PMs that I haven’t looked at yet. Apologies. I’ll get there. Where is leannec today?

lucyg , it's a blessing that you didn't have a reaction to your vaccines. You're being tortured enough every other Tuesday. I hope that you have some fun. You get here when you can and that's just fine. My thoughts are always w/you. Leanne, left the thread. She's OK, but she wanted a break. She'll be on the board, as far as I know. bc2ca, I love cold nights w/warm blankets. My favorite sleeping season is coming up. A full night's sleep is hard to come by for some of us. I hope that you feel well today. We are out-of-pocket max buddies. I wish we were buddies in something that isn't awful. Enjoy the rest of your weekend, everyone. pantsonfire , your ds will do a great job and you'll be so proud. Knitting class was interesting. I learn by doing, so it was a bit hard to follow, but next week's final class should tie it all together. I do think I learned some skills that will be helpful. The goal is to knit an afghan.

dinner will be leftover veal pharm for DH, and I wil have meatballs that were in the sauce I used on the veal. I was not a fan of the veal, It came out fine, I guess it was not as flavorful as I was expecting....DH loved it! I would prefer chicken pharm to the veal.
It is a beautiful unseasonable warm day, not quite 70 degrees. I harvested yet more tomatoes....and actually ordered a food mill from Amazon...my goal is to process the tomatoes and hopefully have a huge vat of sauce I'll divide and freeze to have at the ready. I have been washing the tomatoes and freezing them, so I have gallon size zip locks in the freezer just waiting for me

All the windows are open and the sun is shining. Bed linens being washed. I left the house early this morning on a lantern hunt. On my way to the first store, just as I topped the exit of the ramp, there was a small dog walking there. No houses around. I got to the store, ran in and had to go back and look for that pup. I toured that area, sadly no pup sighting. So I came home and ate a cinnamon roll. I've got a roast in the crock pot to make sliders for dinner. We'll eat those DH watches the Hogs play the Tigers. cadoodlebug will be watching the same game I believe. 😉 Now to get comfy and read what everyone else is doing.

On our little getaway, the inn had a tiny Russian Blue cat. She was so fluffy and I was even escorted to my room 2 doors from the office. It's all about the furry people. Then again, you had me at cinnamon roll.

Happy Saturday! Have been enjoying the cooler weather and even sat outside for a bit this afternoon. Currently working my way through the ironing pile. This past week I've elected to work on string quilt blocks each day, rather than iron clothes so now I must play catchup. Otherwise, I've had a slow day in preparation for a big wedding I'm attending tonight at 6:30 pm. DD is a bridesmaid and has been at the reception site since 8:30 am to get ready. With 11 bridesmaids, they have to start getting them ready early! So dinner will be whatever the meal is there. Should be good whatever it is. All I have left to do is makeup, curl hair and get dressed. Will take me 10 min. at most to drive to the church. It is going to be 71 today. Yuck! I love fall and this isn't it. But it's a good day for golf. So Jeremy will be going to play this afternoon. Which leaves me all alone to do what I please. 😉 Everything is so relative! For us, 71 is wonderful fall weather and I've been enjoying the cool mornings and pleasant afternoons since the front came through on Wednesday. Sure is better than the 99 it was on Monday!!! Thinking of everyone and hoping to get back to the dinner thread regularly in the next few days.

**GypsyGirl** I don't know how anyone makes it through menopause in the south. 😂 71 and I'm roasting. I've been wearing shorts and a T-shirt all day just sweating my buns off. Fall should be 55-60 and sunny. But I should be able to feel some kind of chill. 😂🤣😂🤣

jeremysgirl 71 is bad? I would love 71 vs 82 today! Later this next week it will be 88. Second summer. cadoodlebug I felt like I bubble wrapped my family room when my dog was a puppy. He wanted to gnaw on everything. There is a puncture on my tv stand and he wanted to gnaw on sofas, 80 year old cane love seat, etc. taylortroop How is Walker doing? Is the medication helping? lucyg were the chicken pot pies from the frozen department? Do you recommend? karenlou I like chicken or eggplant parmigiana the best. Bon Apetit has a great eggplant recipe and love their sauce recipe. Yum. **GypsyGirl** enjoy your wedding! Tonight we are having steaks, potatoes and asparagus.

I wish had been quilting but other things got in the way but the ironing pile is still there and I also need to work through it or there will be nothing ready to wear. I feel your pain.
