OMG I just turned 63 and the week after I got like 5 pimples on my chin/jaw area! They are those sort of 'underground painful' ones that eventually come to a head after using either a pimple patch or some hot cloths. And if I put any kind of pimple drying cream or gel on them, the skin dries out and ends up peeling off leaving a small sore/scab. Can't win!!
BUT REALLY!! In my 60's I'm still dealing with them? I think they may be from a new facewash I tried from Cetaphil. But not sure really.
UGH I am so sick of blemishes!!

I feel your pain. 67 and still dealing with pimples. The dermatologist just put me on a new routine two weeks ago and so far no new ones. Cerave cleansers morning and pm, clindomyacin in the am and Tretinoin (Vit A) in the evening. I'm currently up to every other night on that. He did prescribe the brand name of that, saying that it is more effective than the generic. That was out of pocket for me ($115) but it should last about 6 months. I also use regular moisturizer in the evening and Vit C serum and moisturizer and sunscreen in the am.

I'm 67. In the last few weeks, I've had blemishes on my chin. Those "underground painful ones" OP mentioned. If I had to have one, at least give me one I could pop!

I've had them and once in a while a freaking hair pops out of one!

Ugh! I hear you! That was one of those things in life that I was not adequately prepared for. I expected to stop getting pimples after the tween/teen years. I was displeased to learn that wasn't how it worked.

I'm 74 and still get pimples! Though I've found if I don't wash my face too often, it is better - I know it sounds weird and and one would think the cleaner we keep our skin the less pimples we should get. But the more I wash my face and remove the natural moisture of my skin, the harder my skin works to replenish it.
This is also what works with my hair too, the more I wash it the more oil I get in my hair! I have hair that is almost waist length and washing it every day is just not going to happen. So it means washing my face every day just does not happen either.

But the more I wash my face and remove the natural moisture of my skin, the harder my skin works to replenish it. This is a good point. It made me think and I realized that last Spring/early Summer I was not going anywhere most days and did not put on any makeup, therefore did not end up washing my face in the evening, just splashed water on it, and my skin was quite clear then. Hmmm. Interesting!!

I’ll get pimples if I eat certain things, usually chocolate. But that’s about the only time.

I’m 63 and occasionally had break outs until last year when I completely changed my diet.
I didn’t really eat unhealthy prior but I switched to a 99% clean diet and cut out any chemicals, additives, added sugars, flavors, inflammatory fats etc.
I didn’t really put it together at first but one day realized my skin wasn’t breaking out. A couple months ago I had a very bad case of Covid and wasn’t eating. I let some processed food slip back in my diet (because it was the only thing that sounded good) and my skin started to break out.
I’m eating clean again and the breakouts are gone…

I can only use Clinique products. I also can't use any anti-aging products or I break out.
I'd try to figure out if it's a product issue.
