Until the election results are in. Does anyone else feel that way?
I don't expect it to get better until November 6th.

I am having such anxiety. However, I don't think it will be over November 6. If she wins, he and the minions will be screaming rigged and I think more Jan 6 activities. If he wins, heaven help us all.

I do too. But, if it makes anyone feel better... Historian Allan Lichtman, who has correctly predicted 9* of the 10 last presidential elections, still has Harris winning. I'm putting my trust in his knowledge and trying to let it calm my nerves.
*He predicted Gore as the winner in 2000 and he did get the popular vote, but with the controversy over vote tallies in FL, the Supreme Court decision gave Bush the electoral college victory

Honestly, I'm over it all.
I think the polls are wrong. I think this will be decided on election night (November 5th).
I think the Electoral Map will look like 2012 in Harris' favor, maybe even better.

Me too. The stress level is high.
My fear is it will be a repeat of 2016 - Harris will win the popular vote but Trump will take the electoral college.
I’d love a clear, not so close, win for Harris, but you know if she wins (crossing every finger and toe), the MAGA crowd will protest and try to challenge everything.
I’d love to believe Lichtman, but who knows? There are questions about his method and how he’s changed or scored things. And, there’s another guy who uses betting markets with a great track record, who has been saying Harris will win, but I’m still nervous.

Not alone. My anxiety has been high and I just can’t believe it’s as close as it is. I don’t expect to know on the 6th. I expect there to be several lawsuits but it would be nice if it was pretty clear who won. I filled my anxiety meds though as I have a feeling I may need them. I fully expect Harris to win the popular vote but worried about a few swing votes. It would be really nice if it was really clear who won.

Yep. Im already making plans for what I am doing Election Day to keep busy. Good idea. I think I need to try and do that for that week. I’m hoping I can keep from watching results coming in but it will be hard. I’m hoping I can make myself go to bed at a reasonable hour snd get some sleep.

Stressed beyond measure. I doubt we’ll have a confirmed answer by 11/6. And it doesn’t matter anyway. If she wins … by a little, by a lot, it won’t matter which … they will lose their minds and try to start WWIII in this country.
I hope I’m wrong about that, but I don’t have great faith.
In 2020, I had my Biden/Harris yard signs stolen twice, in a town that votes heavily Democratic. I didn’t even bother putting them out this year. No point in showing the mob where to hit first.

Like an idiot, I've started watching political You Tubes before bed instead of arty videos, and I'm paying for it with a super high anxiety level. I can't listen to any more polling.

Yes!! But check out the situation in Texas. Getting very close for Allred... During the 1990s and 2000s, Republicans typically enjoyed double-digit victories in statewide races in Texas. But in 2018, incumbent Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) defeated Democratic challenger Beto O'Rourke by only 2 percent. And in 2024, Cruz has been warning fellow Republicans that a victory by Rep. Colin Allred (D-TS) cannot be ruled out.In a front-page editorial published on Sunday, Allred picked up an endorsement from the Dallas Morning News — Texas' largest daily newspaper. The editorial criticized Cruz for promoting "the politics of division," noting that he "could have supported the peaceful transfer of power in the 2020 presidential election" but didn't. www.rawstory.com/politics-of-division-texas-biggest-newspaper-unloads-on-ted-cruz/

There's a house near my daughter's neighborhood with a sign that says "I'm voting for the felon." Their yard has junk scattered all over, they have a confederate flag hanging in the garage, which is filled with crap. They fit the stereotype of someone who would brag about voting for a felon.

Me, too. I was actually just thinking about making a thread about it on my way home. I am feeling so discouraged and dejected with all of the misinformation and people believing lies (or clearly supporting what Trump and Republicans are saying). How do we combat this? I naively thought things would go back to "normal" after Trump lost in 2020 but clearly things have just ramped up since then. First we need Harris to win in November but how do we move forward? Maybe I should start another thread but how did Germany move forward from the Nazi's? You would think that with the access to so much accurate reporting and information now that we would be better off. But, it seems that social media and the internet has done just the opposite. It is now just a place for people to find the opinion that you are looking for, regardless of if it is true or not. People who listen to Trump are living in an alternate universe and clearly we have not been able to challenge that. They are the ultimate gaslighters in saying that WE are the misinformed, completely ignoring facts. I am just so frustrated! And I am worried that it will be another 2016 and then what? I don't think the country or the world can get through another four years of Trump (or Vance).

I turned in my ballot today, and saw at least five other people after me at the drop box. The ballots were delivered by mail Friday. This was on a college campus. I live in a blue state but I am crossing my fingers the early voting is a good sign…

After 2016, I will never feel comfortable with an election again. I will always worry. I hope that she has a victory so large that the election can be called that night. Of course, nothing will be good enough for Trump and his supporters. But hopefully this time there will be a plan in place to avoid another attempted insurrection.

I think the Electoral Map will look like 2012 in Harris' favor, maybe even better. If you watch this Politics Girl video she talks about how the polls people are seeing are being manipulated to make it appear the race is close or Trump is even winning. Because if people see the polls showing a close race they may decide not to vote or will vote Trump because he is going to win. Look at how many polls are affiliated with right wing GOP groups. Of the last 15 general election polls released in Pennsylvania 12 of them are affiliated with right wing GOP groups. The Republicans are literally flooding the battleground states with these polls, 27 of them in the first week of October.

No, I'm actually feeling SO MUCH BETTER since Biden dropped out. We may not win but at least there is a good chance!
I live in Trump territory overall but in a purple area. We shall see.
But my life isn't going to be over if he wins anymore than it was last time. We shall persevere.
ETA I spent the past weekend surrounded by "my people" at a festival in Atlanta and it just made me appreciate how many great people there are out there. Cat ladies and weirdos galore, some that look "normal" like me (I'm the Marilyn Munster, middle aged version, lol). Just a fun inclusive artsy bunch.

I’m bracing for the worst, that republicans will win the house majority, senate majority and the white house. I have zero faith in the American people. The fact that it is even close is beyond comprehension. I’ll vote blue until I die but I honestly have zero fucks left to give.

I have told my husband I wish I could just be sedated and revived when it is official that we have a Democratic President. Hopefully that will be on November 5, but I am worried it will be the election in 2028.
I know my life won't be over if Trump wins, but I fear for my family members of child bearing age, I fear for LGQTBQ people, I fear for the financial aspect of his presidency and the havoc that could wreck on people everywhere. I think him being elected again would be much worse this go around.

My anxiety is through the roof. I can't talk to my Mom because she's a hard core democrate. I can't talk to my Dad because he's a hard core Republican. And both only watch CNN or Fox right now.

Yes, I have been pretty anxious about it pretty much since the Biden debate debacle. Thank goodness it was resolved fairly quickly without a lot of debate on who was to replace him. Still I wish it was all over.

Still I wish it was all over. I agree. I was feeling pretty relieved and energized when Harris started her candidacy but we need to get some of that energy back. Everything had gotten even more negative lately and Trump has amped up the lies and it is really getting to me.

I really have a hard time understanding how he could have more votes this time than in 2020. I’m really counting on the fact that more of his supporters died during Covid (especially in the red states) and I’m hoping with every fiber of my being that there’s no way that many people could have been brought into that camp to replace them. Keep in mind too that the official numbers during that time were not including all of the “excess deaths” that didn’t get counted as Covid related.

I keep telling myself that I'm fine if Trump is elected. But I have a child who is part of the LGBTQ+ community. I have children who might want or need IVF. I live in Texas, I don't want to see my neighbors rounded up. I frequently feel like I'm on the edge of freaking out.

If he wins, it's horrible. If she wins, you know they are going to scream rigged, and who know what will happen. Either way, it's not good.
And this tweet pretty much sums up how I feel about his f'ing photo op in Asheville today: Donald Trump is standing in front of the broken rubble of my neighbors homes flashing a "french fry certification pin." My home was ravaged by one of the worst national disasters in recorded history and he is making it about him. I can't say what I think of this man in public.
