I do not understand why people dont understand this. Not voting is also a vote for trump and fascism. But but but...Gaza. (I am NOT downplaying what is going on there) I have a few friends and acquaintances who firmly tell people to write in their cats name or dogs name instead of voting for Trump or Harris. It's also the same people who scream about the unhoused and poor wages and lack of proper health and mental care, and housing/rent prices, and food prices and inequity in schools. Um hello, one of those nominees will actually fix a lot of those problems but...Gaza right?! Screw the possibility that the Dept of Ed will be gone (which will hurt their LGBTQ and Disabled kids), screw higher prices, screw no unions, screw most costly groceries, screw better housing for all, screw the need for undocumented workers to do jobs they won't touch. |

This morning I read a post about voters who were voting third party because of Gaza and I wanted to scream. I agree with them that we need some actions/consequences to go with the words that Biden has been saying but it is stupid of them to vote for Stein because of Gaza. I feel that they are throwing the US under the bus for another country/issue that we have little influence over (I do think there are things we can do to not be complicit with what is happening in Gaza, but I don't know that it will stop Netanyahu). It is so frustrating I feel helpless to change any of this. Ugh. |

It just blows me away by how many people are willing to cut off their nose to spite their face by voting for someone with less than zero chance of actually winning, just to attempt to make a point. |
